Chapter 1 - Never The Main Character

I was in the club over the weekend with Mayven, my best friend since kindergarten.

She had too much of a drink that she needed to puke, so now we're in the bathroom.

I washed my face and looked at myself in the mirror. I let down my straight black hair that was in a ponytail and watched it drop till my upper back. I had a streak of electric blue in the front part of my hair. Now, it's faded. I had to dye it again. How annoying. My skin was naturally tanned. Benefits of being a hispanic. Siren shaped brown eyes and a scar in the middle of my left eyebrow.

I hated that scar. Many thought it was cool, but the looks on their faces when they find out how I got it isn't exactly pleasant. So I lie that I got it when I was younger by accidentally breaking some glass and got a cut.

I forgot I was wearing mascara. Now it looked like I cried. Luckily I had a makeup remover spray in my bag and I was able to wipe it off.

I went to the bathroom stall Mayven was in. I knocked the door of it.

"How you doing in there?" I leaned against the door.

"I need water." She didn't have to tell me twice. She sounded like she was dying.

I went to get the water, when I returned, she was waiting by the sink, her face very flushed.

We walked out of the bathroom and found a place for her to shit while I went online to book a taxi to drive us home. At the same time I had to keep Mayven away from the drinks.

I swear if she touches alcohol after this, she'll die in my hands.

Me an Mayven looked completely different.

She was no taller than 5'4, even with heels on she was still shorter than me.

Her eyes were doe shaped emerald green. She had a fair skin tone. Her hair was wavy, auburn and till the length of her back.

Mayven was the perfect person.

She looked cute, she was kind, never got in trouble. (I got in a lot of trouble when we were in middle school or something.) Though she had a problem. She had ADHD. That kinda affected her grades. So I had to help her. Even though we're in the same college now, we're in different majors, so I can't be of much help for her now. It would be difficult for other people to deal with her. They would need A LOT of patience.

However, there was this guy to help her. Some drama happened between then, blah blah blah...

She started to fall in love with him, she thought that he liked her. Then last week, another guy came, who had a crush on her. She became confused and then saw the guy helping her kiss another girl on the cheek.

When I met the tutor guy, he clearly liked her. It was obvious. I was there when I was him kiss another girl's cheek. It was probably his sister. They look the same.

But she refused to listen to me.

Then the other guy started avoiding her.

It's a typical drama story. The next moment in about five minutes he's gonna open the doors to the club and sees us and even more dramatic shit while I watch, and sip my drink or get in the way of them.

He's basically the reason we're here at the club. Mayven suggested to drink her problems away, which isn't exactly ideal, given that she's not a strong drinker and gets drunk easily.

Hey, look at that. I'm correct. He walked in. Obviously I knew he would.

Ryan Davis. 5'8, Blonde wavy hair, hunter shaped brown eyes, pale skin.

He met eyes with us (Mayven) and started marching towards me.

"What did you do to her?" He crossed his arms eyeing me.

Poor guy.

I stood up from where I was sitting and also crossed my arms.

"Jesus. How tall are you?" He mumbled.

"6'1. For your information, I've done nothing to her. You're the reason why she's here and she dragged me here in the first place. She can't handle alcohol too well." I rolled my eyes at him. Of course I would get blamed for dragging her here.

"I'll take her home." He shoved me aside. Was he trying to pick a fight with me?

"No, you won't." I blocked him from his path.

"What are you going to do?" He laughed.

"Shut that arrogant mouth of yours. You're only 5'8, which isn't as tall as you think. You're lucky that Mayven is shorter than 5'5. Also, both of my parents are on the force, so I can sure as hell kick your ass. Also, Mayven doesn't want to be around you."

He glared at me and walked away, glancing back at Mayven with a soft look on his eyes.

Mayven was truly the perfect main character for her story.

That's right.

Main character.

I know that in this world, every life is a story. I know who is who in the story. But the people here don't know that their in a story.

Mayven Chase is the main character at this moment right now. She started to become the main character right after we graduated high-school.

Me? I will never be the main character. That's my fate.

Roxanne Blaise Ramirez. The name my parents gave me. More like the author did.

My parents were the main character, and I was part of their epilogue.

I was truly the main character's child. I was valedictorian in high-school, despite getting into trouble and all. My parents were on the force, so I had to learn self-defense and stuff. I was tall and good-looking. (Or that's how I was described by the author)

Funny how your parents were the main character, and now you can tell who is what in someone's story. That'd be a good story, but the author had other plans when it came to me.

Now my best friend's the main character and I'm the supporting character.

The author created me and sees me as an extra piece in different people's stories. I'm wither the side character, supporting character, background character. Sometimes I'm even the villain.

Never the main character.

My real enemy?

The person who's been mocking me. The same person who gave me this ability. The same person who will never make me a main character.

The author.
