Chapter 67 - Standard

BVB (4 - 2) VFB – 54th Minute

''This isn't who I want to be...'' Che utters. ''I want more.''

Stuttgart are now the ones playing with more urgency and are on front foot, while Dortmund have decided to allow them to attack.

Stuttgart puts a few players ready for a substitution. Every single attack they try isn't working and Dortmund's defense is stone wall.

''I want more...''

The words keep echoing in Che's mind as he's trying to play his way through Dortmund's fortress. He attempts to dribble through, but he is stopped.

The ball goes out of bounce and Stuttgart put in their substitutes.

Substitution – Stuttgart U17 (56th Minute)

Off: - #11 Leon Sonnenblick (Left Wing) - #10 Sohrab Samandari (Attacking Midfielder)

On: - #15 Mykola Petrovskyi (Central Midfielder) - #18 Mohamed Drammeh (Left Wing)

Leon steps out the field and he doesn't look happy; his head is down and carrying a frown on his face. He throws the tape on the floor that was around his wrists and starts shouting.

''Fuck!!''

The coach approaches him before he could go seat on the bench. ''Leon, I know you struggled out there, but you did well. The only thing that matters is that you didn't give up and kept pushing. Always remember that about this day Leon, remember to keep pushing forward no matter what comes in front of you. You'll be great if you keep that mentality kid.''

Leon nods at his coach and calmy takes his seat on the bench.

The coach changes formation by having a diamond shaped midfield and the two wingers as forwards. Che will now be the advanced playmaker.

Dortmund restarts the game and this time they intend to kick the ball out instead of passing the ball out from the back.

Stuttgart get the ball and Dortmund show no means of pressing anymore as they are now getting to recuperate their energy.

Stuttgart passes the ball around, but their passing has no impact on their attack and it's because Dortmund is keeping them at bay.

Che decides to drop deeper towards the midfield.

''More. More! More!!'' He whispers

Che's thoughts start echoing the word the moment he gets the ball he is pressed by a midfielder, and he passes it to a midfielder.

The midfield passes it back into space for Che and he passes it again to the right winger who came towards the center for offensive support.

The winger passes it back to Che and now he was focused on running forward. He dribbles past a central midfielder and the defensive midfielder comes in with pressure and power.

The midfielder immediately gets down and he slides towards Che, and the moment the slide tackle comes in, everything around him slows down again. But this time he is aware of what is happening.

Che looks around the pitch while this is all happening in his head, another light flick turns on. He swifts past the slide tackle but the midfielder catches his ankle.

His loses balance and the ref points for an advantage, but Che doesn't stop. He finds his balance and he just flicks the ball over the defenders head for Speidel who made another run in behind.

Speidel waits for the ball to come down, and he is overtaken by the right back who jumps over his head and headers the ball back to his keeper calmly.

Che looks at the right back and thinks about how his foresight was disrupted by him. He takes a deep breath before returning to his position.

''More.''

Before Stuttgart knows it, Dortmund is on the attack passing the ball through the midfield again. They pass the ball slowly and their midfield three follows where the ball is passing it through the team.

The ball is passed through to Timo and he receives the ball with his back to goal, and before he could pass the center back moves him off the ball.

Timo is caught by surprise and the center back carries the ball to the midfield; he passes the ball to the midfielder which starts the counterattack.

The ball is played to Speidel on the left wing and Speidel runs with the ball with the Dortmund right back monitoring him.

He decides to cut in early, but the right back jumps to the tackle before he could run any further towards the center. He gets a clean tackle, and they return their attack.

From the right back the ball goes the right winger, and from the right winger it is passed to the attacking midfielder. The attacking midfielder passes the ball to Timo for a one two.

''Always have him get the ball with his back to goal, he can't initiate the attack with his back to goal. If that's not the case, never give him space to run. Strikers like him thrive of being able to run or being given the ball.''

The coach's words echo in the defender's mind. And just as planned Timo's back was to goal and the center back intercepts the ball and passes it out the midfield.

As soon as Stuttgart's central lofts the ball up to the right winger who gets the ball with no defense on him, he immediately passes it to Che who turns immedietley after getting it.

The defensive midfielder presses him before he makes his second touch, but Che is already a step ahead and does a feint to his right and nutmegs the player.

He runs around him and passes the ball to the right winger and another attacker starts for Stuttgart.

The right winger runs in the open space in front of him leaving the left back behind.

''I want more. I want to be best too, like them.''

The thoughts of both Timo and Djaby come to mind. He envisions them in his thoughts as the two players that are ahead of him.

The players suitable for being acknowledged as the best.
