As the wind and snow grew stronger, for safety reasons and out of concern for Nina's health, Jacob and Nina had to cancel their plan to climb the mountain and instead take the cable car back to the foot of the mountain.
Nina felt extremely disappointed, but she also knew that this was Jacob's concern for her, so she buried this regret deep in her heart.
"We'll come again next time, Ms. Nina," Jacob seemed to notice the disappointment in Nina's eyes and said with a smile. "Next time we'll definitely reach the summit."
"Yeah," Nina nodded, looking at Jacob and saying softly, "We'll save it for next time."
"Let's wait until next winter," Jacob suddenly suggested. "How about I come visit you after I start university?"
"Sounds good," Nina replied, looking at the sky full of wind and snow.
The two sat in the cable car, quietly watching as the snowfall grew heavier. Neither spoke until, after a long while, Nina asked, "What are we doing this afternoon?"
"I want to buy some accessories for my Pokémon," Jacob thought for a moment and said. "Then let's take a photo together."
"Let's go to the Pokémon Theme Park. There are stores that specialize in selling Pokémon clothes and accessories, as well as photography studios," As a local of the Capital, Nina was quite familiar with the surrounding attractions.
"Let's go then."
...
The Pokémon Theme Park, as the name suggests, was a park with a Pokémon theme. Accompanied by Nina, Jacob started choosing clothes for his five Pokémon.
Currently, except for Charmeleon, which was his only female Pokémon, all of Jacob's other Pokémon were male. Jacob wanted to use this opportunity to boost Charmeleon's confidence.
He wanted to show his Charmeleon that regardless of how others perceived her, she would always be a cherished member of his team.
The Pokémon Theme Park was crowded with tourists. Jacob noticed many people bringing rare Pokémon to enjoy the park. Among them, someone with a Haxorus was met with envious looks wherever they went.
...
"Wow, that guy is really showing off," Jacob couldn't help commenting as he watched the scene. Someone was challenging him in his own domain!
When Nina heard Jacob's remark, she couldn't help but smile and said, "You could also release your Shiny Dreepy, and others would look at you with the same eyes, or even with more envy."
"I'd rather not," Jacob shook his head. The Shiny Dreepy was indeed perfect for showing off, but there was no need. Safety was more important, so it was better not to attract too much attention.
"Or else, Ms. Nina, if you released your Salamence and Hydreigon, they would definitely be more impressive than that guy's Pokémon," Jacob said with a mischievous look.
"You want to show off using..." Nina couldn't finish the sentence, her face slightly flushed as she said, "It's not about me."
"I know. But think about it, Ms. Nina. If you released two Pseudo Legendary-level Pokémon, wouldn't everyone think you're amazing?" Jacob analyzed seriously. "Then if we walked side by side, with you holding my hand, others would definitely wonder what kind of abilities this guy must have for such an incredible woman to be his girlfriend. Even if I did nothing, I'd become the object of everyone's envy. That's the highest form of showing off—invisible showing off, and the most devastating."
Hearing Jacob's joke, Nina couldn't help but roll her eyes at him and quickly changed the subject. "Very funny. Weren't you picking out accessories for your Pokémon? Hurry up, it's a rare opportunity. I'll buy accessories for my Pokémon too."
"Alright."
...
"Let's get a pair of gloves for Sceptile."
"Noibat, how about this little bow tie? It looks pretty good."
"Axew, here's a hat for you."
"Dreepy can only have a collar."
"And for you, Charmeleon, I'll buy this scarf and these glasses you like!"
After browsing for an entire afternoon, Jacob selected accessories for each of his five Pokémon. Since Sceptile often used moves like Leaf Blade, Night Slash, and Thunder Punch, gloves were very suitable for it.
Noibat's black bow tie complemented its purple body beautifully, creating a striking appearance. The Noibat was also very pleased with this gift and affectionately nuzzled Jacob's head.
Jacob bought a hat for Axew. He actually wanted to buy one similar to Ash's hat. Axew's body shape was similar to Pikachu's, so it should suit him well. Unfortunately, Jacob couldn't find the exact same hat in the store and settled for a similar black one instead.
Looking at Axew wearing the hat, Jacob couldn't help but daydream. Perhaps when Axew evolved into Haxorus, their bond would be strong enough to unlock a special evolution, and it would be known as "Jacob's Haxorus" in the future.
As for Dreepy, it was the simplest to shop for. Due to its small size, finding suitable accessories was challenging. After searching for a long time, Jacob could only choose a simple collar for it to wear, but Dreepy seemed quite happy and not at all picky.
The final Pokémon, Charmeleon, was the highlight. Jacob and Nina spent considerable time choosing for her, finally deciding on an off-white scarf and gold-rimmed glasses.
Girls naturally deserved to be dressed nicely. The golden skin looked quite striking with the off-white scarf. The gold-rimmed glasses perched on her snout softened Charmeleon's fierce appearance, creating a rather sophisticated look.
Charmeleon examined herself in the mirror and seemed quite satisfied, a smile appearing on her face that hadn't been seen in a long time.
Of course, Charmeleon's smile didn't come cheap. Jacob spent a considerable amount on this outfit. He noticed that Pokémon items in this theme park were more expensive than human items.
Jacob made a mental note of this, writing it down. When the Bug-Grass Secret Land tourist area opened, he would keep this pricing strategy in mind.
Nina also selected accessories for her Pokémon, and then the two hurried to the Pokémon Photo Studio. If they delayed any longer, the staff would be leaving for the day.
...
"Would you like to take a picture?" The owner of the photo studio, a young man, asked the two anxious customers.
"Yes," Jacob nodded and then removed his mask.
"Hey, aren't you Jacob?" The shop owner looked at Jacob's unmasked face and felt he looked familiar.
"You know me?" Jacob felt pleased. This was what fame felt like.
"Of course I know you. You're a research genius, a scientific prodigy, the pride of China. The news reported that you've made a breakthrough in pure Z-Crystal technology, achieving global leadership. You're Scott's successor. Ha! Who doesn't know you now?"
The shop owner's flattery made Jacob feel both flattered and a little proud, though he tried to appear humble. "No, no, that's all exaggeration by the media. Since you know me, can you give me a discount?"
"Sorry, no discounts for small businesses."
