"BOOM!"

Accompanied by a deafening explosion, thick smoke instantly billowed throughout the Dragon Secret Realm as alarms blared. Everyone inside, including Jacob, was stunned by the blast and didn't immediately comprehend what was happening.

"What's going on?"

"Why was there an explosion?"

"Could a Pokémon have escaped?"

Everyone assumed the explosion was caused by a Dragon-type Pokémon going berserk or some other accident. No one suspected an enemy attack—since the establishment of the Dragon Secret Realm in the Capital, no one had ever dared to attack it, nor had anyone even considered such a possibility.

But when a second explosion thundered and Anthony, riding on his Gyarados, flew directly toward the restricted area, everyone realized they were under attack!

"Quickly, call the Pokémon Association for backup!"

"That's Anthony from the Dawn Society. The Dawn Society is launching a surprise attack on the Dragon Secret Realm!"

"And that Ghost-type trainer with the giant Chandelure is from the Aurora Society! Stop them now!"

"It's no use! They've blocked the space. We can't use Teleport or enter the spirit world."

...

When the second explosion sounded, Jacob also realized something was wrong. He immediately recalled four of his Pokémon—Axew, Dreepy, Noibat, and Charmeleon—leaving only Sceptile out. At the same time, he grabbed Alakazam's Poké Ball and released it.

"Can Alakazam use Teleport to get us out of here?"

Upon hearing this, Alakazam attempted to use Teleport, but failed and shook its head.

After receiving this answer, Jacob's heart sank with concern for his safety. Since they were under attack, the breeding facility in the restricted area would definitely become the enemy's primary target.

The restricted area housed many rare Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon eggs. The attackers would only need to breach the area to snatch multiple Pseudo-Legendary eggs at once, avoiding confrontation with the Pokémon in the realm. It was essentially a guaranteed successful operation.

Jacob was in the most dangerous position possible. His mind raced as he immediately thought to rush out of the restricted area, but then realized he might run directly into the enemy. The next best option was to hide. Just as he was about to find a hiding place, he suddenly remembered the several Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon eggs in the facility.

Jacob estimated the timing. It would take at least three minutes to reach his location from the entrance. Only one minute had passed. Making up his mind, he looked toward the nearby incubation room and rushed inside.

Fortune favors the bold, but caution preserves life. Take a chance—win, and you gain a treasure; lose, and you might not survive.

Jacob glanced around and spotted three Legendary Pokémon eggs in the incubation room: a Deino, a Jangmo-o, and a Bagon.

He was about to grab all three, but then reconsidered. If there wasn't a single Pseudo-Legendary egg left in the restricted area, it would definitely arouse suspicion. He deliberately chose to leave one behind to dispel enemy doubts.

This was psychological warfare. When the enemy expects something, make it absent; when they don't, make it present.

Of the three eggs, the Bagon had Champion-level potential and couldn't be left behind. Jacob had to choose between the Jangmo-o and the Deino. He decided to take the Deino and leave the Jangmo-o. Then he immediately exited the incubator and entered the restricted residence. There, he found a wardrobe to hide in and recalled Alakazam to its Poké Ball.

Even with the protection of a King-level Alakazam, Jacob wouldn't rush forward to defend the Secret Realm to the death. Anyone who dared attack the Dragon-type Secret Realm would certainly possess formidable skills. He wasn't a fool. Why sacrifice a King-level Alakazam needlessly? That wouldn't be bravery—it would be overestimating his abilities.

No reward was worth dying for. Life came first. Go all in when appropriate, and retreat when necessary.

...

The four invaders rushed toward the restricted area. As they approached, they were immediately confronted by two King-level trainers from the Secret Realm.

One was named Maverick, a Fighting-type trainer. His ace Pokémon were Blaziken and Conkeldurr, both King-level.

The other was Matthew, whose signature Pokémon were Dragalge and Amoonguss, also King-level.

The two had already deployed their Pokémon to guard the entrance to the restricted area, silently waiting for the invaders' arrival.

"Dante, Alora, I'll leave Vaporeon and Gyarados to help you. Hold them off while I go in," Anthony said. "We'll split the rewards equally."

Anthony's Vaporeon and Gyarados were both King-level Pokémon. Combined with Dante and Alora's forces, they would be sufficient to handle the two King-level trainers.

Dante nodded, and Alora responded quietly, "Hurry up, we can't delay much longer."

"Don't worry, it'll only take a few minutes."

Anthony left his Vaporeon and Gyarados behind and proceeded toward the incubator with his ace Blastoise.

Watching Anthony depart, Dante remained still, not reaching for his Poké Balls. Only Alora released her Chandelure and Aegislash.

Four King-level Pokémon versus four King-level Pokémon—an evenly matched confrontation.

Meanwhile, the mysterious masked man invited by Gabriel took advantage of the chaos to enter the dormitory area. He went straight to Jacob's room, with Alakazam leading the way, hypnotizing everyone they encountered.

The mysterious man didn't harm anyone indiscriminately—he merely hypnotized them.

Arriving at Jacob's door, Alakazam released a powerful Psychic attack that shattered the door. The mysterious middle-aged man entered Jacob's room with a frown.

Jacob wasn't there? He had just passed the training ground without seeing him, but according to his information, Jacob had recently returned to the Dragon Secret Realm and hadn't left. This meant Jacob could only be in the restricted area.

If so, Anthony and the others heading directly there would definitely encounter him. If Jacob fell into the Dawn Society's hands, his life would be in serious danger.

The mysterious middle-aged man felt regret as he walked to Jacob's desk, opened the drawer, and began searching carefully, examining every item but finding nothing significant.

He glanced at Jacob's trash can, which contained scraps of paper torn up by Jacob.

"Alakazam, retrieve those paper fragments and reassemble them."

Alakazam's psychic powers surged, making the pieces of paper float in the air and immediately reassemble into three complete sheets.

The mysterious middle-aged man carefully identified the first words: "Sceptile, failed? Experiment!"

Seeing the word "experiment," the mysterious middle-aged man felt excited. He eagerly looked at the rest of the paper and nearly spat blood in frustration.

He never expected Jacob to be so cautious. Not only had he torn the paper to pieces, but he had also blacked out all the words with pen.

This was true professionalism!

But this also convinced the mysterious middle-aged man that the content must be extremely important, so he decided to take all of Jacob's discarded papers for analysis later.

After searching the room again, he found several novels with provocative content under Jacob's bed, with a photo tucked between the pages.

The mysterious man's gaze swept across the Noibat and Axew in the photo, paused momentarily on the gleaming Charmeleon and massive Sceptile, and finally fixed on the tiny Dreepy.

Compared to the other Pokémon in the picture, this Dreepy was incredibly small, but its coloration differed from normal Dreepy! A Shiny Dreepy!

The photo showed Jacob and Nina together!
