Chapter 405 - Chapter 406: I Won't Fight Against You

Aiden was aware of what happened between Mai Shiranui and the others and Tsukihime. After all, he visited the Shiranui-ryu dojo every day. But he simply didn't want to get involved in this matter. They weren't enemies, it was just normal sparring; it wasn't life-threatening.

Although Mai Shiranui and the others couldn't defeat Tsukihime, they had no intention of asking Aiden for help. They even seriously warned Aiden not to interfere in their affairs with Tsukihime; they wanted to defeat her using their own strength.

However, even though Mai Shiranui and the others didn't want Aiden to interfere, and Aiden himself didn't want to get involved, Tsukihime thought differently.

She even came looking for him every day to issue a challenge, but Aiden rejected her every time. This infuriated her so much that she would stay at the Shiranui-ryu dojo until very late each day before leaving.

Speaking of which, Tsukihime's personality was somewhat opposite to her brother's. Although Yagami Iori had that wildly hairstyle and fought with a frenzied intensity, he actually hated violence... Kyo Kusanagi was the exception. Yagami Iori probably wouldn't mind using his most brutal moves on Kyo Kusanagi.

As for Tsukihime, she was probably spoiled rotten by her brother. Her personality was changeable, sometimes cheerful and lively, sometimes eccentric and perverse, and even naive at times. However, she was an out-and-out battle maniac who loved challenging famous fighters.

She did share one thing with her brother, a strong dislike for the Kusanagi family. The person she most wanted to defeat was Kyo Kusanagi's cousin, Kusanagi Aoi.

But similarly, just like her brother, she was a bit weaker than Kusanagi Aoi in terms of strength. This was probably a historical legacy issue. After all, the Yagami family's ancestor had once betrayed the Three Sacred Treasures families, resulting in their bloodline not being as "pure."

Since her strength wasn't sufficient, Tsukihime could only hone herself through constant fighting. That was likely the reason why she loved challenging fighters everywhere.

———

It was a sunny afternoon. Aiden sat under a tree, drinking tea while watching Mai Shiranui and the other two women practicing.

After watching for a while, Aiden suddenly took out his phone and glanced at the time, "Three-thirty. She should be coming soon."

After muttering this, Aiden slowly turned his gaze towards the entrance... The next second, accompanied by a loud bang, the main gate of the Shiranui-ryu dojo was kicked open from the outside. Then, a tall figure appeared at the doorway.

"Hey, Aiden, I'm here."

Tsukihime, with the same fiery red hair as her brother, lowered her long leg and strode in, speaking in an unceremonious tone.

Aiden ignored her tone, only sighing at the kicked-open gate. Well, time to replace the door again.

The still-practicing Mai Shiranui and the other two women didn't even turn to look at her. After all, this scene played out almost every day...

Tsukihime, still in high school, finished classes early. Getting out at three, she wouldn't go home first, usually arriving very punctually at the Shiranui-ryu dojo at three-thirty.

If she was late or didn't come, there was only one likely possibility, the red-haired girl was on her period. But she would usually call ahead to warn Aiden and the others... The red-haired girl was quite principled in her actions.

Withdrawing his regretful gaze, Aiden took a sip from his teacup and then said calmly, "Young lady of the Yagami family, this is the seventeenth door you've kicked in."

"I'll pay for it later," the red-haired girl waved her hand dismissively, walking straight over to sit down in front of Aiden. Without any sense of being an outsider, she picked up some snacks from the small tea table and started eating.

Aiden didn't stop her either. He was already used to Tsukihime's peculiar personality. Glancing at her sideways, he said, "Pay? With what? Your brother still owes the Chizuru family a huge sum of money. If you really want to pay, then study hard, get into a good university, find a good job. Then you'll have the means to say that, instead of running over here every day like you do now."

"My grades are... mmm..."

Tsukihime started speaking while swallowing the snack in her mouth. But talking while eating makes it easy to choke. Sure enough, she had just opened her mouth when she got choked and began pounding her chest forcefully.

The red-haired girl was about the same height as the Chizuru sisters, and her chest's proportions were similar too. With her movements, the pair of little "white rabbits" on her chest began bouncing vigorously.

'So there are perks like this time too!'

Mentally sighing, Aiden poured a cup of tea and handed it over. The girl might have an eccentric, impulsive personality at times, but she wasn't a bad person.

"Mmm... Thanks!"

After washing down all the snacks in her mouth with the tea, Tsukihime let out a long breath, patted her chest, and reluctantly said thank you to Aiden.

No matter what, she was still a well-mannered "good kid."

Putting down the teacup, Tsukihime continued, "My grades are very good. I'll definitely get into a good university. But, how much money can you earn from a regular job?"

"The money my brother owes the Chizuru family, even a lifetime of work couldn't pay it off. Might as well enter fighting competitions in the future to earn prize money to pay off the debt."

At this point, Tsukihime glanced at Mai Shiranui and the others, curled her lips and said, "Like them, with that level of skill they still got third place and won ten million in prize money. Tsk, if it were me, wouldn't I be raking in prize money left and right."

'That wasn't wrong...' Aiden nodded. With Yagami Iori and his sister's skills, if they entered competitions, they could probably guarantee at least a top-three finish every time, truly potentially earning prize money hand over fist.

Seeing Aiden nod, Tsukihime couldn't help but puff out her chest proudly, "You think I'm right too, huh? That's it. You were the champion of the last tournament, winning a hundred million in prize money. Of course you'd agree with me... So, Aiden, accept my challenge. Let me see how strong the world's number one King of Fighters really is."

'Here we go again...'

Sighing, Aiden shook his head, changing to a different way of rejecting her, "I won't fight against a you."
