Chapter 122: My Ultimate Move!
Phone Group Chat: A Loving and Harmonious Family
[Galactic Traveler]: I see things have gotten chaotic again in Belobog. What happened? Do you need some orbital support?
Normally, Himeko wouldn't interfere with the trailblazing process unless there was an Emanator-level Imaginary reaction. Without a little pressure and a few setbacks, how could they make memories of their youth? But considering the... vibrant mental states of Stelle and Caelus, Himeko couldn't help but worry. She would occasionally check in via her phone to understand their encounters on Jarilo-VI, and thus knew about the Stellaron, the Eternal Freeze, and their impending final battle.
Knowing the Supreme Guardian's name, Welt was even more eager, practically rubbing his hands together. But in the end, Himeko persuaded him to "let the young ones have the stage."
[Arahato]: I'm ready. I can depart at any time!
[Camera]: Haha, thanks for your concern, Uncle Yang and Big Sis Himeko, but it's not time for you to step in yet.
The five of them would only ask for support if they encountered an insurmountable obstacle. At that point, all she'd have to do is pull up a white plastic chair, cross her legs, and watch the orbital cannon descend while sipping her coffee. However, if things really came to that, she'd feel like a bit of a failure as their "reliable" senior. The five of them needed to resolve their trailblazing journey with their own strength.
[Agent of Chaos]: Don't worry, with me here, this round is a guaranteed win!
[Face-Tanking Ults]: Don't worry, with me here, this round is a guaranteed win!
[Data Bank Administrator]: Don't worry, with me here, this round is a guaranteed win!
[Arahato]: ?
[Galactic Traveler]: ?
[Data Bank Administrator]: Apologies. I accidentally hit "copy."
Slipping his phone into his pocket, Dan Heng glanced over at Stelle and Caelus, who were muttering something obscure about "shop refreshes" and "item rotations." He really wanted to know what gave those two such confidence... He just hoped they wouldn't have a breakdown at a critical moment.
And what was with the current bizarre situation? Was this the result of the "contingency plan" Caelus had left in the Overworld? Dan Heng glanced at Bronya, who was still surrounded by Gepard and the Silvermane Guards, looking completely stunned and bewildered. But he wasn't sure, as Caelus had never explained what the "surprise" was.
"In the name of the Preservation, we welcome your return, Your Excellency, the Supreme Guardian!"
Many of the Silvermane Guards respectfully placed a hand over their chests and bowed slightly to Bronya.
"Supreme Guardian, has the villain Cocolia been executed?"
"All hail Lady Bronya!"
Hearing that Bronya had returned, more and more guards gathered, their eyes filled with a loyalty and fervor that made Bronya shudder. From the moment the Silverwing had donned the silver coat, the frontline soldiers had begun addressing "Bronya" as the "Supreme Guardian." As for Cocolia? The Traitor to Preservation, the Sinner of Belobog, the Vile Wretch who Embraced Destruction... she had all sorts of new titles.
...
"Lady Bronya, have you successfully defeated Cocolia?" a fully armored Gepard asked, standing before a neat formation of soldiers, his expression slightly odd. Bronya had returned far too quickly. Why were there no troops accompanying her? Also...
"Everyone, it's been a while. My apologies for my previous actions, I hope you can forgive me." Gepard apologized for having followed Cocolia's orders to hunt them down.
The Silverwing had informed the frontline soldiers of many things—not just Cocolia's deeds and the situation in the Underworld, but also that the Trailblazers were heroes who had been trying to save Belobog, only to be framed and targeted by Cocolia using her authority as Supreme Guardian. She also told them about crops that could grow in low temperatures and mature multiple times, which could completely solve Belobog's future food crisis. This was one of the reasons the Silvermane Guards now supported and revered Supreme Guardian Bronya.
"Ah? It's... it's okay..." March 7th replied, still a bit dazed by the attitude of Gepard and the surrounding guards.
"Gepard, what on earth is..." From the moment she entered the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone, Bronya had been completely baffled. Her head was still spinning. How did she become the Supreme Guardian? The loyalty of these guards had visibly skyrocketed... and what was this about 'punishing' a 'traitorous Cocolia"?
However, before a bewildered Bronya could voice her questions, Caelus stepped in front of her and cut her off. "Gepard, my man, the situation is urgent! The battle in Belobog is at a stalemate. A large number of shadow soldiers have appeared in the city, and the villainous mastermind summoning and directing them is none other than Cocolia!"
"What?" Gepard's brow furrowed, his expression instantly turning serious. The surrounding guards looked on with indignation, cursing under their breath. They had fought the shadow soldiers on the front lines and had assumed they were creatures born from the Fragmentum, never imagining that the traitor Cocolia was behind them! They had absolute faith in the words of the person standing beside their "Supreme Guardian."
"Do you need reinforcements?" Gepard asked Bronya anxiously.
Once again, Caelus spoke before Bronya could. "Yes, but not to reinforce Belobog. We need to enter the depths of the Fragmentum. Gepard, my man, we need your help to hold off some of the Fragmentum monsters."
As he spoke, Caelus shot Bronya a meaningful look, signaling that time was of the essence. They should ignore the messy details for now and seize this rare opportunity to deal with the Stellaron.
Bronya mulled it over for two seconds and felt Caelus had a point. The bizarre but favorable situation was undoubtedly advantageous for their mission. It wouldn't be too late to investigate these matters after eliminating the source of all evil, the Stellaron.
Bronya bit her lip and declared loudly, "Silvermane Guard Captain Gepard, hear my command!"
"At your service!" Gepard bowed slightly.
"Lead the guards and escort us!"
"Yes!"
Gepard immediately assembled the imposing squad of guards. These were the elites the Silverwing had deliberately left behind, prepared specifically for this assault on the Fragmentum. Under their protection, the group passed through the battlefield, where the sounds of fighting were like falling snow, and reached the dead silence of the Fragmentum labyrinth, having expended almost no energy.
"This is bad. The corrosion in the Backwater Pass is nothing compared to this," Dan Heng said, his brow tight as he observed the number and strength of the monsters in the Fragmentum.
"Caelus, this place is so creepy. It feels like there are bugs crawling under my skin," March 7th said, hugging herself and shivering.
Dan Heng frowned. "The heavier the Fragmentum's pollution, the closer we are to the source. But we don't have any instruments that can point directly to the Stellaron..."
"This way." The Silverwing and Raven had already scouted the path, so Caelus could naturally point the way.
Don't ask. If you have to ask, it's intuition!
Dan Heng didn't press further. After all, Stelle had a Stellaron inside her, and Caelus and Stelle were practically one person. Although he didn't know why Stelle, the one carrying the Stellaron, wasn't reacting while Caelus was, a high-probability path was much better than running around aimlessly.
Walking along the rotating mechanical catwalk, March 7th blinked her big eyes and muttered in a low, wondrous tone, "I feel... I feel like we're not trailblazing on Jarilo-VI, but back at the Herta Space Station." The most heavily defended restricted zone, where even negotiation was useless, let alone brute force, was now granting them full assistance just because Bronya gave an order. She had been on a few Stellaron-related trailblazing missions, but...
"Never have I ever had such a wonderful start! La la la..."
Before March 7th could finish her joyous exclamation, Stelle clamped a hand over her mouth. "March, don't jinx it now!"
The six Pathstriders plus one "Daughter of the Sea" wielding a Divine Key—no monster in the Fragmentum labyrinth could stand against such a force.
Guided by Caelus, the group passed through the Corridor of Fading Echoes, walked along mountain paths littered with the frozen remains of Voidrangers, and reached the far north where the Eternal Freeze raged.
Several powerful phantoms drifted like ghosts, guarding the front of the ancient battlefield.
"These monsters are different from the ones we've encountered before," Dan Heng said, his gaze fixed.
A broken, resonant voice drifted over. "...Here, we guard..."
"I don't care, I'm going in!" Faced with the strange phantom, Stelle's bat immediately began to glow with the pale blue light of Destruction. For her, there was only one word for it: RUSH! Whether it was a Voidranger, a Doomsday Beast, or a Fragmentum monster, this baby's bat was ready to deliver a "Stellar Ace" home run!
Stelle initiated the fight, and the others quickly followed.
"Wither!"
The Divine Key split into the black Abyss and the white Flower. With the white Flower circling her, Seele wielded the Abyss, which radiated a dark, eerie light. Using it like a knight's sword, she slashed at the phantoms. The power of withering was somewhat effective against phantoms made of pure Imaginary energy.
Caelus rushed towards a Guardian's Shadow that Seele had pierced with Abyss, as it was trying to dispel the dark withering power. He pulled out his Curio yo-yo and tossed it up lightly. The fluorescent blue string extended about twenty centimeters and stopped, as a chaotic, sky-blue light radiated from the sphere. While the yo-yo spun normally, the entire sphere was also flipping and rotating, spinning on both its horizontal and vertical axes simultaneously.
The dazzling light swelled into a blue sphere, and the irregular churning of energy produced a terrifying tearing force.
"TAKE THIS, MY ULTIMATE... GRIND!"
A single Giant Rasengan struck the wound where the phantom had been pierced by Abyss. The critical hit instantly shredded half of the phantom's body.
With Stelle, Dan Heng, and Seele as pure DPS, Seele with Abyss Flower as a DPS/healer, Bronya and March 7th providing ranged support and control, and Caelus as another DPS/controller, even the phantoms closest to the Stellaron couldn't hold out for long against this lineup.
"So this is where the Stellaron is."
After defeating the guardian phantoms, just as the group stepped onto the ancient battlefield, which resembled a sacrificial plaza, it was as if they had crossed a forbidden line.
An energy wave, pulsing with shadows, suddenly spread out from a large structure in the plaza.
"It's the Stellaron!"
