Chapter 129: Welt: I Must Go to Jarilo-VI Immediately
The Engine of Slaughter, hundreds of meters tall, was like a world-destroying demon god. Its movements were slow but heavy. With its Lances of Endless Winter, wreathed in an icy aura that could tear mountains asunder, it pressed down on Super Granzort.
To describe the current state of the two mecha from a human perspective, it was as if a two-meter-tall giant, wielding a pair of ice-crystal daggers, had stabbed downwards, only to be parried by a three-year-old child, less than a meter tall, holding a crimson-gold flame sword. They were locked in a contest of strength.
Clang!
A shockwave rippled out from the point of impact between the ice lances and the Kaiser Blade, sending hail, snow, and shattered rock flying in all directions as intense flames and an icy storm clashed. Under the overwhelming force, the ground within a hundred-meter radius of Super Granzort collapsed, cracking into countless fissures.
"Don't even think about it!"
Cocolia hadn't heard the exchange between Stelle, Caelus, Dan Heng, and March 7th. But the moment Dan Heng threw the Luminous Top, she sensed a power similar to the red and white demon god mecha beginning to gather. It was a power of light, the complete opposite of the dark power wielded by Tchang Zu—a power that the current dark Mother of Deception, Cocolia, found repulsive. "Darkness will swallow everything! The Stellaron will create my new world!"
Reality, of course, didn't have the "invincibility frames" from anime, where the villain's actions would freeze while the heroes summoned their mecha. The second she realized what Dan Heng was doing, Cocolia moved to stop his summoning, intending to command the Engine of Slaughter to smash him.
However, the red and white mecha below, which was only as tall as the Engine of Slaughter's knee, suddenly erupted with a force that made even Cocolia pause.
"What do you think you're doing? Did you ask for our permission?"
Inside the cockpit, standing on the hexagram platform in a low, sword-parrying stance, Stelle and Caelus grinned. Caelus channeled the Madou Power of the Earth to augment the Kaiser Blade, while Stelle infused her Stellaron power into her arms. With one hundred percent synchronization, they executed a counter-thrust, pushing the sword upwards.
As the Madou King of the Earth, Super Granzort could feel the pulse of the planet as long as its feet were on the ground, receiving an amplification of Earth's power. The moment Cocolia's attention was diverted, Super Granzort erupted with unstoppable force, pushing back the Engine of Slaughter's ice lances and iron fists. The vast difference in size made the scene incredibly visually striking.
"Damn you!"
The sea of clouds was stirred into a vortex of darkness. Lightning flashed and snow roared, creating an apocalyptic atmosphere. As Cocolia's enraged voice rang out, the ruby on the Engine of Slaughter's chest gathered dark power and Stellaron energy, pulsing with a murderous intent that seemed to herald annihilation. Then, like an angered god delivering judgment upon the blasphemous, it fired.
"Go to hell!"
"Tch!" Caelus gripped the Kaiser Blade with both hands.
A crimson-gold light shone from the blade, as scorching and dazzling as molten lava, releasing an endlessly majestic flame that collided with the Engine of Slaughter's energy cannon. The violent shockwave from the beam struggle spread out in all directions, like an invisible tsunami.
"Wait, Caelus, aren't we on the left?"
Through Super Granzort's wide-angle vision, Stelle saw the other Seele and Bronya fighting the Shadowkhan and Fragmentum monsters outside. She suddenly realized something, and her face changed slightly. From an outside perspective, Super Granzort was on the left side of the beam struggle. The point of collision between the energy cannon and the blazing flame was visibly pushing towards Super Granzort.
It was true that both sides had a Stellaron, but Stelle and Cocolia's active utilization of the Stellaron's energy were on completely different levels.
"It's a small thing." Though being pushed back and on the defensive, Caelus's tone was relaxed. "It's true that since ancient times, the one on the left in a beam struggle tends to lose, but that rule mostly applies to 1v1 situations. And right now... it's the three of us."
As his words fell.
"The real Super March 7th~ has arrived!"
In reality, there were no invincibility frames for summoning and transformation, but the whole process was still relatively fast. Most of the time was spent on sensing the Luminous items and receiving the information; otherwise, the Madou King summoning could be completed in a matter of seconds. The time Stelle and Caelus had bought was undoubtedly enough.
"This is so cool!" Inside the cockpit of Super AquaBeat, the white and wind-green skirt armor clung tightly to March 7th's body, perfectly outlining her delicate curves. The chest plate, adorned with sky-blue and girlish pink, was stretched taut over her full bust. With her long, slender, toned legs, the swaying hem of her skirt, and the billowing cape, she looked like a goddess of the wind descended from the heavens.
Honestly, March 7th had never really understood Uncle Yang's passion for mecha before. But now, she was beginning to get it. Even a girl would think this was cool! "And it's so easy to control!" That was the main reason. If she had to sit in a cockpit and manually pilot a mecha, March 7th didn't think she could ever remember what all the buttons in the cabin did.
"Super Schtrom Bow!"
A tornado of pure wind enveloped a strange, wind-green longbow, which descended from the sky and landed before Super AquaBeat.
"So cool!" Inside the cockpit, March 7th's eyes lit up as she looked at the green bow that had appeared before her. It looked as if two bows were crossed to form an 'X', and the bowstring was also in an 'X' shape. "Hmph, hmph, it's time to show you the skills of the Express's number one archer!"
Her vibrant pink hair swayed as an excited smile spread across March 7th's face. She reached out and grasped the strange longbow, expertly drawing the string. "Watch this—One Qi into Wind, fire!"
Outside, Super AquaBeat mirrored her movements perfectly, quickly aiming. March 7th released her index finger from the bowstring. The power of wind gathered and finally formed a violent, high-frequency, tangible tornado that swept forward.
On the other side, a sky-shaking dragon's roar echoed as a verdant azure dragon came roaring on a great tide.
"Surging Wave Ring..."
A faint voice came from Super Winzert. The water-blue Madou King held a blue lance, its exclusive weapon—the Surging Wave Lance. Though it was a mecha, its posture as it held the lance gave it a unique and majestic temperament.
The tornado raged, the azure dragon roared. In an instant, they arrived, aiding the great earth-flame that was being pushed back by the Engine of Slaughter's energy cannon.
Seeing the lightning-fast azure dragon, Caelus's expression became priceless. "You call that a Surging Wave Ring!?" Caelus, of course, knew Winzert's skills, but this... this was clearly "Azure Dragon Emerges into the World," wasn't it!?
Inside Super Winzert's cockpit, Dan Heng didn't know what Caelus was thinking. He briefly glanced at the battle armor he was wearing and could feel the power of the Madou King. Winzert's Madou Power of Water was incredibly compatible with the power within him, so much so that he could draw out the mecha's full strength right away. As for this move... okay. It was indeed "Azure Dragon's Emergence." The power supporting the move was not that of a dragon's heir but the Madou Power of Water from Super Winzert.
The three powers intertwined and spiraled, almost instantly pushing back. With unstoppable momentum, they drove the energy cannon back into the chest of the Engine of Slaughter.
BOOM!
A deafening sound. The triple attack struck the Engine of Slaughter's chest, causing a massive explosion. Fire bloomed, snow swirled, and mist filled the air. The giant mecha, hundreds of meters tall, fell heavily to the ground, causing the earth to ring with a great tremor.
"Damn it! You damned creatures!"
Cocolia, who didn't fall with the Engine of Slaughter, floated hundreds of meters in the air, gritting her teeth, her voice filled with rage. She raised her hands. Dark power erupted, pouring into the Engine of Slaughter as it got back on its feet. The power of the Stellaron spread, snow filled the sky, hard ice extended, and Fragmentum abominations appeared on the dark mountain passes, descending with the blizzard. "Become the cornerstone of the new world!"
In the raging blizzard that pressed down from the horizon, two more Lances of Endless Winter materialized from the wind and snow, shooting towards the three of them.
"In your dreams! It's time to wake up!" Caelus swung his Kaiser Blade, and Dan Heng raised his Surging Wave Lance, parrying the two Lances of Endless Winter.
"Let's go!" AquaBeat and Winzert shot into the sky, charging towards Cocolia.
"Damn it!" Stelle and Caelus cursed in unison. AquaBeat was one thing, but how could Winzert, the master of the Madou Power of Water, fly too?
The two of them had Granzort leap high into the air, swinging the Kaiser Blade at the Engine of Slaughter and cutting down the spawning Fragmentum monsters like weeds. Though not being able to fly was a bit of a handicap, unless Dan Heng really stopped holding back and transformed into a dragon, Granzort was still the strongest of the three mecha.
The other Seele, Bronya, and the first Seele were also fighting.
At the same time, on the orbit of Jarilo-VI, aboard the Astral Express.
"The Fragmentum fluctuations on Jarilo-VI are very large. That darkness, so full of malice... what on earth is it?" Welt looked through the car window at the planet shrouded in black clouds. He was already prepared to go down and provide support.
Himeko shook her head. "I'm not sure either. There's an energy distinct from Imaginary... is it a phenomenon caused by Honkai energy?"
"No, I'm certain it's not Honkai energy," Welt said decisively. Although the full name of Honkai was "Honkai, all-powerful," you couldn't just blame everything on Honkai.
"Hm?" Himeko suddenly paused.
"What's wrong?"
"Detecting similar energy fluctuations... What is that?"
A pillar of energy light broke through the lead-gray clouds. In the brief moment that the darkness parted, the onboard satellite was able to get a clear observation of the situation inside.
The moment the power of light broke through the power of darkness, the communication signal successfully connected. Then, the image that appeared left Himeko and Welt completely stunned.
"...This is!?"
What were they seeing?
March 7th and Dan Heng had summoned two demon-god-like mecha in a way that seemed like magic. At the same time, Stelle and Caelus were nowhere to be seen, but a red and white mecha was fighting a transformed Engine of Creation.
"What happened?" Himeko was completely baffled, her face a mask of disbelief.
The shock was even more intense for Welt. He lowered his head slightly, and his glasses glinted under the light, obscuring his eyes. Seeing the subsequent super-transformations of the other two mecha, Welt's body trembled. He turned and started to walk away.
"Welt?" Himeko looked worriedly at Welt, who was so unsteady he could barely hold his cane. This was the first time she had ever seen the calm and composed Welt in such a state of urgency.
"I must go to Jarilo-VI immediately!"
Welt's eyes were filled with an unparalleled, determined will.
