"I-I haven't." The duo echoed in anticipation resulting in an almost amusing smile on Caius' face.
Caius, with his upcurved mouth said, "I believe the two of you have already guessed what we are going to do." Caius received a nod of approval from the both of them and continued, "however, what you haven't guessed is who we are going to watch, the person whom is performing today." Caius' voice was calm, and his face bore joy despite having dissipated his smile.
The two looked at him with little anticipation as they held little knowledge regarding such activates. Despite that, the duo obviously held interest in it.
Sythrik chuckled in a self deprecating manner and asked with a curious expression, "who is it?" Caius disregarded the question for a moment before waving his hand to attract the attention of a public carriage. As it stopped and opened its door, Caius said without looking back at the two young men behind him, "her name is Renna Abarca. She is well known for her great acting and imitation of others, even if the character's description is only in paper, she can still imitate them to the point where some believe she has entirely consumed the individual and their respective memories."
The trio stepped into before the carriage and sat down at the available seats. There was only three others besides them, resulting in only one last empty seat.
As the carriage continued it's course, Johann asked, "this Renna, is she really THAT good?" Caius revealed a small admiration as he answered without hesitation, "indeed. Sometimes, it is said that it feels as if though she becomes them. Not in the way of personality but rather as in appearance. It feels as if though there is whispers of the character's appearance that flickers on the surface of her skin."
The two looked at him with surprised eyes and Sythrik asked on the two's behalf, "are you sure they aren't exaggerations? Or made entirely made up?" Caius paused for a moment and sighed, then replied in a disappointed tone, "to be frank, I only seen her perform once. Indeed it was impressive, she truly did live up to the rumors! However, never, not even once did I see a single change in her appearance, only expression and tone of voice. This was almost a decade ago so she might've become even better since then, or I might simply have a bad memory."
The two sat and analyzed his words, but remained unable to figure anything out. It also seemed like even Caius was empty of information on her so Sythrik remained quiet, leaned back, and sighed, letting the carriage's rumbles massage them as the time flew.
...
After a small, uncertain amount of time did they finally arrive. The doors of the carriage opened with a slightly rushed speed. Sythrik, along with his companions stepped out of the carriage and took in the gentle, warm breeze with closed eyes and raised heads.
"Refreshing!" Caius muttered in satisfaction while putting on his short top hat, covering the sunlight's rays. Sythrik nodded and said, "it really is." Mimicked by Johann a second later.
Caius looked at the duo behind him and said with an unusually bright smile, "I believe I don't need to point out or follow you two towards the theater, right?" The two nodded at the same time and looked ahead and saw a U shaped open space with a fountain in the middle. There were crowds of people going about their day, either chatting with friends, feeding birds or just enjoying the environment.
Sythrik then looked beyond the water fountain and saw a slightly larger stone building in the middle of the U shaped, connected stone buildings. As soon as he narrowed his gaze he could clearly see workers promoting the show they were about to witness by holding up pictures, and parchments containing a basic description about both the actress and the show she was to perform.
Sythrik's attention was suddenly taken by a crowd of people storming around and about. He narrowed his eyes as he made wild presumptions as his curiosity forced him to learn about the cause. A moment after, the crowded group of people stopped as they neared the Theater's entrance! Security guards stood in line and momentarily stopped everyone from entering. He then caught glimpse of a woman walking behind the guards, gradually stepping inside the theater.
Sythrik's eyes widened as he thought, "could that really be..." His thought found themselves cut by a familiar voice that said, "ready to go in then Sythrik? Standing in a daze won't get you anywhere you know!" Johann said with a big grin.
Caius nodded and walked toward the theater with slow, deliberate steps. Followed by Johann and a Sythrik that found himself power-walking in order to catch up to the two of them.
As Sythrik was catching up with his companions, he gradually slowed down to normal speed as his thoughts were almost weighing him down, "was that really the actress? It would explain the crowd and why the entrance was momentarily shut down. Letting her walk in while blocking the others made sense, since letting an actress act while exhausted by fans would be terrible for the performance!
"It might really have been her then..."
Sythrik let go of his thoughts for a moment before finally letting out a sigh and said to the others, "pardon, but its my first time being to a theater so I was just wondering how long these usually lasts? Regarding to hunger of course, I find acting enjoyable, I promise!"
Caius and Johann laughed heartily, then, Caius responded with a warm smile, "we can buy some snacks inside the theater, so food is of no worry. Other than that, you should know that there's toilets lined outside for multiple people to use in case of disaster. Also, there will be trashcans, tables, a bell, and a chance to meet the actress in person."
Sythrik chuckled as he came to a realization, then thought to himself with up turned lips, "sometimes, Caius tend to scare me... He can be as sly as a snake and as warm and soft as a bear's fur-unpredictable!" His expression turned more serious, or more rather appreciative as he continued, "however, he always put others before himself. Despite being a great philosopher, his morals are simply outstanding! When someone is in need of help he quickly leaves behind his rationality and acts on behalf of his morals.
"Despite knowing the foolishness behind it, he does it. Despite knowing how pointless and unsolvable it is, he does it. He has one path and he a stuck to it like a moth to a flame..."
Sythrik sighed and murmured, "just when will I find my path? What does it look like? How does it end?... Or, how do I start and find it? Is it a simple step that needs to be taken once engulfed in a terrible situation, or a simple decision, a promise on makes to themselves due to beliefs? Just how are morals born?... All I can do is question it, it seems.
"A path... What is it really? I just can't seem to figure it out. Is it a carved road? A connection between the beginning and the end? Or a goal for betterment and change?"...
Sythrik thought, over and over but still couldn't find his answer, thus laid the thought aside.
As he entered the Theater, Johann was just about to go and order food. However, he was stopped by an outstretched old arm. He looked to the side and asked, "what is it?" slightly nervous. Caius smiled, his wrinkles turned clearer and then he said, "don't worry about food right now. First of all, lets talk to this gentleman over here."
Sythrik and Johann was wildly confused, but complied, following his trail with careful steps.
"Pardon me, young man, but could you guide us to our seats?" Caius said.
The worker looked down and met Caius' gaze, then smiled and said, "of course! Can you hand me your tickets so I know where to guide you?" Caius nodded and said, "of course!" as he pulled them out from his jacket's inner pocket.
The three stood still for a moment while the worker observed the tickets. Suddenly, the worker's eyes widened in shock and said, "sir VIP, please follow me and I will show you to your lounge!"
Caius smiled cockily and retrieved his tickets and followed after the worker with a Johann and Sythrik in tow.
Sythrik, despite walking, felt as though he had frozen whole. His lips gradually parted, and soon after, his voice leaked out with low output, "just how much debt is he planning to leave me with?"
