Chapter 2 - THE HUNT

Adyant and Rishi stood there side by side, listening to Aaryan.

"I need the two of you to bring me a dead werewolf!" Aaryan demanded. Adyant responded with a question "Why the two of us? I can go get it alone, and Rishi won't be more than an inconvenience." His question was genuine but Rishi still found it annoying.

"Because we need Rishi to watch and learn if he is going to assist us in the future." Aaryan asserted. "Fair enough!" Adyant nodded. He turned to Rishi and smirked "Try not to get killed. Wolves are dangerous!"

Rishi and Adyant exited the room. Aaryan sighed and pulled out his wallet, he opened it, looked at a picture for a second, then looked away and closed it. He was trying his best to toughen up to the situation but it was getting harder everyday.

Rishi and Adyant reached into the forest, the sun had already set long ago and the sky was at its darkest hour. Rishi looked at Adyant with narrow eyes.

"So then, where can we find a werewolf?" His voice was cautious. Adyant scoffed "We don't need to. It's full moon, there must be a werewolf running around his area, they love the flesh of warriors, one of them will definitely sniff us out."

Rishi nodded, looking around, suddenly he felt a chill run down his spine. He turned around, Adyant powered up and charged at the beast that was about to attack Rishi. Adyant grabbed the creature by his throat and pinned him on the ground.

Rishi took a sigh of relief. Adyant looked at Rishi and burst into laughter "You cannot be anymore pathetic. I have no idea what Aditya saw in you."

Rishi narrowed his eyes "Aditya? Who is that?"

Adyant stopped laughing for a second "Did Aaryan not tell you? Aditya is our leader, he owns this organization. He owns X-Graders."

Rishi's eyes widened, he wondered if he was the same Aditya that he read about earlier in Aaryan's book, the one with a power level of 1500.

Adyant pushed his hand through the wolf's chest and pulled his heart out. The wolf humanoid slowly turned back into its human form as it lost its life. Adyant smirked "Well that was easy!"

Rishi pushed his hand into his jacket and pulled out something. It was a crystal that was glowing bright blue. Adyant turned to look at it "Where did you get that?"

Rishi answered "Aaryan gave it to me!" He answered and crushed the crystal in his hand, breaking it to pieces. Adyant shouted and cursed "No No No!!!"

A small wave of energy was released from the crystal and dispersed into the air. Adyant charged at Rishi, grabbed his throat and pinned him onto the ground "Why did you do that? WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU DO THAT?"

Rishi cursed back "I don't even know what it does, Aaryan told me to do it."

Adyant's eyes widen as something creeps into his soul. Rishi sensed.... fear.

Adyant spoke up "It temporarily disables all your abilities to hide your energy. You are out in the open for anyone to track you down."

"But who is trying to track us down?" Rishi asked.

"It's been a long time, Adyant!" The voice was loud, mischievous and very arrogant.

Adyant's eyes widen, he slowly turned around to face the man. Rishi looked at the man, he was slim, tall, wearing just a denim, a full sleeved blue t shirt. His hair was short, and he was clean shaved. There was nothing exceptional about his appearance.

Adyant took a few steps back, out of pure fear "Listen to me! We are not enemies... your fight is against Aditya. I have no part in this. Agastya please!"

Rishi's eyes widened the moment he heard the name Agastya. He turned to Adyant, shouting and asking him "That's Agastya?"

Adyant nodded, still fearful "Agastya Verma! Power level 1200!"

"Is it 1200? Sorry I don't remember. When was it checked last time?" Agastya smiled like a gentleman as he casually walked closer to them. He continued "Ahh yes, around 800 years ago! Before you were born Adyant. Would it still be 1200?"

Adyant frowned at that question, he had no idea how to answer this problem. He just screamed and charged straight ahead. One moment, he was shouting threats, the other moment, his head hit the ground with the strong grip of Agastya's hand on his face.

"I won't lie. Suddenly sensing your energy after 400 years, that too so close. I could not resist the temptation of paying my old friend a small friendly visit. So then, where's my buddy? Aditya, where is he?"

Agastya's tone at the last statement was more serious and threatening.

"You'll never find him! Do whatever you will, I won't talk!" Adyant said defiantly.

"I don't need you to talk Adyant, I just need you to scream loud enough so Aditya can hear! Or you can actually show some kindness and tell me where he is before I start removing organs that you really really hold dear to yourself."

Adyant's eyes widen at those words. Agastya was so casual about everything.

Agastya continued talking, look up, looking around normally "You know, I understand what you might be thinking. That you will kick me away, jump back to your feet, use some stealthy ability and escape. And trust me I hate to tell you how wrong you are."

Agastya pressed his hand on Adyant's face, crushing his nose bone. Adyant screamed. Rishi stepped back, he had no idea how to respond to this. This was too much for anyone.

Slowly, a bright blue light started flowing down Agastya's forearm, onto his hand, onto Adyant's face. Adyant started screaming in pain. His face started cracking, then his entire body started cracking.

The next thing was a loud golden explosion that pushed Rishi, sending him flying, his back hitting the tree.

When the dust settled, Agastya stood there alone, Adyant was gone, reduced to atoms.

Agastya sighed and finally noticed Rishi, he walked up close. Rishi flinched back. Agastya scanned him up to down.

"I haven't seen you before. You look new!" Agastya said, with a hint of arrogance. His hand instantly went to Rishi's throat, grabbing it tightly.

Rishi felt his legs lifting off the ground as Agastya lifted him up. Rishi tried to talk but the grip on his throat was way too tight.

"You don't look like much! Your energy is non existant compared to mine."

Agastya released Rishi, dropping him on the ground. Rishi coughed, catching his breath. He looked up and saw Agastya had disappeared.

Cautiously, he stood back up to his feet. Taking a deep breath, finally calming himself down, he spoke

"That man is a monster! What does he even want from Aditya?"
