Doctor Hale stiffened for a moment, clearly displeased at being dismissed by someone younger, but she ultimately nodded and left with a curt, "Yes, Doctor Timothy."
Kael watched the exchange, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly.
'Doctor Timothy?'
'Why is someone with such a polished appearance working in this chaotic, makeshift hospital?'
Doctor Timothy stepped forward, adjusting his gold-rimmed glasses with calm precision. His aura was gentle, refined, even scholarly, an incongruous presence amid the chaotic noise of the hospital.
He knelt beside Ember with a soft, reassuring smile.
"Don't worry," he said to Kael in a tone that seemed considerate. "Let me take a look at your sister. I'll make sure nothing is overlooked."
Ember kept her eyes half-closed, breathing evenly, still maintaining the act of unconsciousness.
Kael stepped back reluctantly, giving Timothy space.
Timothy gently placed two fingers on Ember's wrist to check her pulse.
