Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Another Entity or Something More?

Mia nodded, though the doubts still lingered in her mind. How could she fight something that was inside her? Something so powerful, so ancient? She wanted to believe in their fight, but the truth was hard to deny.

The woman in the vision raised her arms higher, and the city around them seemed to crumble into dust, pieces of the past falling away as though they were never meant to exist. The vision shifted again, this time to a battlefield, the sound of clashing swords echoing in her mind. She could see the woman, now a warrior, leading an army into battle.

"Is this my future?" Mia whispered.

The entity's voice responded with a cold laugh. "No. This is your past. But the future is yours to shape."

Mia's heart raced. "Then what happens now?"

The entity didn't answer immediately. Instead, the vision began to fade, and the ground trembled beneath them once more. But this time, it wasn't the entity's presence that caused it—it was something else. A shift. A tear in the very fabric of reality.

Mia felt the air grow heavier, the world around them cracking apart. Something was coming, something even darker than what they had faced before.

And then, from the depths of the shadows, something new emerged—an even darker figure, its form indistinct, but its presence unmistakably terrifying.

Mia's heart stopped as she realized what it was.

The true power was just beginning to awaken.

Mia felt the air around her crackle with an intensity that nearly took her breath away. The ground beneath her trembled, sending vibrations through her entire body. Ethan was gripping her arm, his knuckles white, but she could see the fear in his eyes. He knew, just as she did, that something worse was coming.

The figure that emerged from the shadows was vast, its form a shifting silhouette that defied description. It was like a black hole had manifested itself into a physical shape—an entity beyond comprehension. Its presence bent the air, pulling the very fabric of reality into it, as if time and space were no longer certain.

The dark figure moved with a speed that made the air grow thin, and as it stepped forward, the space around them warped further.

"Do you feel it?" the entity that had been tormenting them asked, its voice calm, almost serene, in contrast to the storm of energy swirling around them. "You cannot escape it now. This is only the beginning. The one you see before you… she is the final step in the process. Her power will awaken in you."

Mia tried to steady herself, clenching her fists, feeling the pulse of her blood quicken as the very earth seemed to pulse with the presence of the new being. It wasn't just a threat—it was a promise. The awakening of something far worse than the entity they had already faced.

"Who is this?" Ethan's voice was tight with tension, his eyes fixed on the dark figure.

Mia's throat tightened as she stared at the shifting form. The figure was tall, its shape human-like but made from pure, shifting darkness. As it moved closer, she could see strange symbols, ancient and glowing faintly along its skin. The air around it shimmered, and Mia realized that this was no mere entity—it was something from another world entirely. A being that existed outside the scope of her understanding.
