Chapter 164 - Say it again… mm

On the other side of the bed, a woman lay there, her dark hair spilling across the sheets, making her face appear even fairer and more delicate. Her eyes, clear and bright, curved slightly as she greeted him in a soft voice, "Good evening, Derek."

Her tone was light and sweet, like a siren's call.

Derek froze.

For a moment, he thought he was hallucinating.

Until Bonnie sat up, smiling at him. "I'm back."

His gaze flickered as he finally came to his senses and lifted his eyes to her.

The room was silent. Derek said nothing for a long while. Bonnie blinked at his dazed expression, waved her hand in front of his eyes, and laughed. "What's wrong? What are you staring at?"

His Adam's apple shifted. His eyes, dark as spilled ink, locked onto her. He caught her hand mid-air, his voice low and hoarse. "Bonnie?" The way he said her name carried an edge of uncertainty.

His fingers were cool, a sharp contrast to her warm hand, flushed from hiding under the blanket.
