Chapter 113 - I might just die out here tonight

He erupted with fury, his voice sharp and unforgiving.

"Fine. If you two can't appreciate what's good for you, then go ahead and starve. No school tomorrow either. And from now on, you're not allowed to see your mother again."

Without another word, he turned and stormed into his study.

The two little ones immediately burst into tears, their sobs rising into frantic wails until their voices turned hoarse from the strain.

Amanda heart aching with worry, rushed after him and threw open the study door.

"Gilbert, what on earth are you doing? What kind of man takes his anger out on children? Can't you hear how miserably they're crying in there? Even if you don't care, I do. It's late, they haven't had a single bite to eat, and you're punishing them like this? Is that what a father is supposed to be?"

Her voice was sharp, her gaze stern, but Gilbert remained cold and unmoved.
