Claire was at her desk when the door suddenly burst open with a bang.
She looked up.
A young man staggered inside.
His suit, usually immaculate, was wrinkled and disheveled. Dark circles shadowed his eyes, and his once-handsome face looked gaunt.
"What are you doing here?" Claire's expression changed at once. Shocked, she snapped, "Get out!"
Gilbert lifted his head, tilted it toward her, and let out a drunken hiccup. "Claire… so it's you. My mistake, I—I came to the wrong place."
He turned toward the door, but after only a few steps, his footing faltered, and he nearly collapsed.
