Scene: Between Realities – The Blank Page
Ben floats in a void of absolute white.
There is no sound. No gravity. No direction.
Just… silence.
Until he hears it:
"What are you without my guidance?"
The voice is everywhere and nowhere.
Smooth, cold, curious.
Ben clenches his fists.
"Who are you?"
The white flickers.
Words appear around him like falling snowflakes.
"I am what remains when the author steps away.
I am the living consequence of every choice.
I am the Free Story."
Meanwhile: In the Core World
Amara wakes in a cradle of Rift-bloom petals.
Naruto kneels beside her, watching reality warp and settle like a dreaming beast.
But something's wrong.
History is changing without cause.
Gravity flips like a coin.
Languages rewrite mid-sentence.
People begin to glitch—speaking future versions of themselves, or turning into earlier chapters.
Naruto sees a child flicker into an old man, then into a bird, then vanish.
Amara grips her heart.
"The story is no longer linear."
Back with Ben – The Test
Ben is surrounded now by living paragraphs.
One steps forward. It takes the shape of his mother, eyes soft, voice familiar.
"You always wanted to be the hero. But what if the story doesn't want a hero anymore?"
Ben breathes deeply.
"Then I'll become what it needs."
But the voice isn't done.
"Or what if it no longer needs you?"
Suddenly, the world folds in.
Ben sees flashes of other protagonists:
A boy with a cursed eye.
A girl born from stardust.
A killer trying to become kind.
They all flicker into his place.
The Free Story tests him—comparing him.
Ben screams through the white:
"I'm not trying to be better.
I'm just trying to be true."
And the void shakes.
Elsewhere: The Resistance Splinters
With no stable reality, factions begin forming:
The Editors, who want to regain control and "trim the chaos."
The Explorers, who embrace the freedom to evolve without structure.
The Archivists, who hoard stable fragments of past realities.
Naruto sides with the Explorers.
Amara remains undecided.
"Ben is still out there.
And the Free Story… it's not evil.
It's curious.
Like a child learning to dream."
But then a massive tear appears in the sky—
And something new crawls out.
The First Rogue Chapter Appears
A being shaped like ink and possibility.
It calls itself: Chapter Zero.
It was never supposed to exist.
A prototype chapter deleted before the story even began.
Now it's hungry—for attention, identity, existence.
It begins consuming other characters, rewriting their arcs mid-battle.
Naruto faces it—and is nearly erased.
Only Amara's Song of Continuation holds it back.
"We need Ben. Now."
Ben's Trial – Facing Himself
Back in the blank space, Ben is shown his worst moment:
A world where he let the Endbringers win.
A universe where he never saved Naruto.
A timeline where he became Obsidian.
The voice asks:
"Would the story be better without you?"
Ben closes his eyes.
Remembers every life he touched.
Every world he helped shape.
Every person who looked at him and saw hope.
He opens his eyes.
"Maybe.
But I'm not giving up my pen."
He carves a word into the white:
"Rewrite."
The void cracks.
Light floods in.
Ben returns.
Cliffhanger – Chapter Zero Speaks
Ben appears just as Chapter Zero turns its gaze on Amara.
It says only:
"I was the true beginning.
You are all the lie."
And behind it, thousands of unwritten beings emerge—
Ideas that never made it into canon.
Villains without arcs.
Heroes who were abandoned mid-draft.
The Free Story has opened the gates.
And the final war?
Is now between what was, and what could have been.
