Chapter 131 - Shadows and Silent Threats

(Erza's POV)

Why hadn't I realized it sooner?

After I became pregnant, the Zani Particles had begun to make sense to me in ways no book, no scholar, no elder could explain. The flow of it, the rhythm—it was as though the answers had simply… appeared. I had assumed it was awakening. A blessing from the ancestors.

But now… now I saw the truth.

It wasn't awakening.

It was Yuuta.

Somehow, unknowingly, he had given me this power. But how? He was human—crafted, yes, but still human. I had never suspected. Not once.

I was lost in my own thoughts when I caught sight of him across the kitchen. He stood there with his eyes shut tight, brow furrowed as if trying to solve a puzzle only he could see. His lips moved faintly, like he was whispering the answer to himself.

Then his eyes snapped open.

"I get it," he said firmly.

My brow arched. "Get… what?"

"It's Isekai power."

"…Isekai… power?" I repeated, slowly, as if saying it might make it sound less ridiculous.

He nodded solemnly, as though declaring universal law. "Yeah. You know—when someone gets transported to another world, they always become ridiculously overpowered."

I stared at him in silence. "…What nonsense are you spouting?"

"No, listen!" he said, animated now, pointing at me like he'd cracked the grand mystery of existence. "It all adds up. When we… uh—" His cheeks colored as he coughed into his fist. "…when we slept together, you probably inherited my overpowered ability."

I blinked at him. Then blinked again. "…That is the single most idiotic theory I've ever heard."

Yuuta crossed his arms, puffing up with pride. "Oh, come on. Doesn't your world have summoned heroes?"

My eyes narrowed. "…Heroes? How do you even know about them?"

"Grandpa told Elena a story once," he said with a shrug. "He mentioned heroes from other worlds fight of Zareth and all stuff."

"Tch." I turned my head away, lips pressing thin. "Even if that's true, it doesn't explain this."

"Why not?" He grinned, leaning closer. "Don't you want your husband to be overpowered?"

"Fool." I crossed my arms tighter. "I've never met a so-called 'hero' who could surpass my Son."

His jaw dropped. "…Wait. Your son?!"

He squinted at me in horror. "We have a daughter, Erza. Not a son."

"Oh—yes, yes," I said quickly, giving a nervous little laugh.

But his eyes narrowed further. "Wait. You—you're not having an affair, are you—"

"Idiot! I am talking about Elena" My hand shot out before he could finish, smacking him on the head hard enough to make him yelp. "Do you seriously think I would betray you?"

He rubbed his head, grimacing. "N-No, that's not what I meant! But… wait, did you just say Elena can defeat the strongest hero?"

"Correct." I folded my arms, my tone cool and certain. "If she were just a little colder… she could crush the strongest hero alive."

Yuuta rubbed his arm with a pout, but his eyes gleamed with defiance. "No killing. Elena's a kind girl. Don't you dare turn her into another version of you."

I froze. Slowly, my head turned toward him, my eyes twitching. "…What did you just say?"

He flinched. "W-Wait, I didn't mean it like that—"

"You dare…" My voice trembled with fury. "…call me a killer?!"

"Erza, wait—!"

But I was already turning away, my blood simmering. "Hmph! Don't talk to me, idiot!"

The kitchen door slammed behind me, rattling in its frame as I stormed into the hall. My footsteps echoed, sharp and angry. That fool. That absolute, impossible fool!

And yet… traitorous as it was, the corners of my lips tugged upward, the faintest shadow of a smile.

Idiot.

(Yuuta's POV)

Damn… I had never seen Erza this angry before.

The kitchen still hummed with the echo of the slammed door, and I stood there with a dish rag in hand, trying to piece together what had just happened. My wife—my terrifying, beautiful wife—had stormed off because I'd accidentally called her a killer. And yeah, maybe that was my fault… but come on, she was kind of scary sometimes.

Still, what gnawed at me wasn't just Erza's temper. It was what she'd said.

This world… Nova. A place where even a so-called hero from another world might be nothing more than prey. Where dragons—or worse, the children of dragons—couldn't be matched, even by armies.

I muttered under my breath, "So what the hell am I, then? Just some guy who got married into the apocalypse?"

The thought wasn't comforting. Would I even survive if I ever got dragged into a real fight there? Or would I just—poof—get erased instantly?

I shook my head. No, probably not. Because if there was one thing I knew for certain, it was this: Erza would never let me fall. My wife was the strongest being I had ever met. If death itself tried to knock on my door, she'd probably punch it in the face before it even got the chance to speak.

That thought made me smirk. "Yeah… no one's going to mess with me. Not when I'm literally married to a dragon."

The words came out half as a joke, half as reassurance, and I chuckled under my breath as I turned back toward the Stove.

But just then—

"Papa!"

A small voice cut through my thoughts.

I turned, and there she was—Elena, framed by the doorway, her tiny face drawn into the most serious frown a child could manage. Her little arms were crossed, and her cheeks puffed ever so slightly. She was adorable, even when angry.

"Everyone's waiting for you!" she said, stamping her foot for emphasis.

"Oh, yeah?" I grinned, holding up the half-prepared dish. "Just one more and I'll be there, little princess."

But before I could even move, she marched across the kitchen floor, grabbed my hand with surprising force, and tugged. "No, Papa. Now. Elena wants you to be with me."

I let out an exaggerated sigh, dragging the sound out until she gave me that look—the one where her nose wrinkled and her eyebrows pinched together in perfect defiance. "Alright, alright. You win. I'll do the rest later."

Her frown cracked into a wide grin, triumphant and bright. And just like that, my heart melted all over again.

I chuckled, letting her pull me along. "You're too stubborn for your own good, you know that?"

But in truth… I loved it. Because that stubborn little girl was mine.

(Scene Shift: Dining Table)

Elena tugged me along with both hands until we reached the dining table, where Sister Mary and Erza were already seated.

The moment I stepped in, Erza's eyes snapped toward me. She didn't say anything at first, just gave me that sharp, piercing glare only a wife could manage. Then came the soft, disdainful "Hmph."

I scratched my cheek awkwardly. "…I'm sorry."

"Idiot," she muttered, crossing her arms. "Why did it take you so long? Can't you see Sister Mary has been waiting?"

"I was washing the dishes," I said defensively. "You know, so we don't get ants invading the kitchen again?"

Her eyes narrowed. Not convinced.

The tension in the air threatened to grow heavier, but Sister Mary's soft laughter broke through it like sunlight through clouds. "Alright, now that Yuuta is here, let us eat."

"Yes, of course," I said quickly, relief washing over me.

"Yah!" Elena added cheerfully as she scrambled into her seat.

I took mine as well. The table was already laid with food—Babarito sandwiches stacked neatly, a jug of grape juice gleaming under the lantern light, and the soup I'd made using the last of the leafy spirit tomatoes. A simple spread, but I'd put my heart into it.

I portioned out the soup, sliding bowls in front of each of them. Just as I lifted my own spoon, Sister Mary's voice cut in—calm, but sharp enough to halt me.

"Yuuta," she said, her hands folded before her. "Did you forget something?"

I blinked, spoon halfway to my mouth. "…What? I don't think so?"

Her eyes softened but her tone remained steady. "Remember what I told you in church?"

Ah—right. My stomach sank. "I'm sorry! I didn't forget, I just… was focused on the food."

Her lips curved into a forgiving smile. "Prayer for the meal, Yuuta. Don't forget to thank God's grace."

"Oh. Right, right." I quickly set down my spoon, folding my hands.

But before I could start, Erza raised a brow. "Why would we thank God?" she asked plainly. "Yuuta worked hard on this meal. Shouldn't we thank him?"

I nearly choked on my own breath. Dammit, these dragons… they really don't fear God at all. I bit back the urge to scold her, already planning how I'd explain after.

Before I could, Sister Mary gently interjected. "My Queen.... I mean Erza."

Erza turned her gaze on her, curious.

Sister Mary continued, her voice calm but sincere. "I know it may sound childish. But thanking God is not about the food itself—it is about giving Him respect. When He feels honored, His favor rests upon you. And when His favor rests upon you, He can write your fate toward happiness."

Erza leaned back, frowning slightly. "If that were true… wouldn't I already be happy? Instead of being stuck in endless problems here?"

Her words pierced me deeper than I expected. My chest tightened. Stuck? I lowered my gaze, guilt swelling in my throat. "…I'm sorry... you feel stuck… being with me."

Her eyes widened. "No!" she blurted out. "That's not what I meant, idoit. Why would I ever feel Stuck with you? I'm happy with you." Her voice softened, almost trembling. "I meant… other things."

Sister Mary gave me a knowing smile. "Yes, Yuuta. She didn't mean your marriage. She meant her burdens outside of it."

I exhaled slowly, my hand brushing the back of my neck. "…I see. I misunderstood. The words just… struck me too hard."

Erza glanced sideways, as if careful to weigh her next words. Then, in a quieter voice, she said, "When I said 'problems,' I was speaking in code. About… Royal affairs."

Ah. Of course. The weight of politics. The things she could not say freely in front of Sister Mary. My eyes flicked between them, realization dawning—and then, belatedly, embarrassment. Great. I basically called my wife unhappy in front of everyone. Nice going, Yuuta.

I forced out a laugh, trying to brush it off. "Right… well, no more misunderstandings. Let's pray."

Erza hesitated, but when Elena folded her tiny hands with earnest determination, even she sighed and followed.

Sister Mary led the prayer, her voice gentle, steady, carrying a calm that seemed to wrap around the table like a warm blanket. When she finished, we all opened our eyes together.

The tension from before had thinned, replaced by something gentler.

For a brief moment, it felt… nice. Like a real family.

And then the meal began.

(Narrator POV)

Allen, son of Veronica, had been captured by Arch Vampire Sara Venom. Though Allen was far stronger than the vampire, he had allowed himself to be trapped.

Demons, after completing their missions, usually either returned to their masters or became dormant. But in Allen's case… he chose to stop moving. Not out of weakness, but out of fear—fear for Erza. He had no idea of her current condition, and the thought of her grief was enough to make him act against his instincts.

A dragon's sorrow is tied to the recovery of their spouse. And Allen, knowing how he had pushed Yuuta beyond normal healing, understood it would take at least one to two months before the man could fully recover. For that reason, he deliberately surrendered to capture.

No one could truly know what he was thinking. But one thing was certain: the Libeus Agency had finally seized the world's greatest threat—Allen Manster. Or, as some whispered in fear… Lucifer Demor.

Sara's squad moved swiftly, silently. Without attracting public attention Using Cargo Trucks, they smuggled him across the borders into Libeus Airport, down into a secret underground facility.

There, holy spells were woven around him—seals cast by one of the Four Captains, designed to bind even a being of Allen's immense power.

Yet the shadows of the chamber quivered, uneasy in his presence.

The moment they dragged him into the holding chamber, Allen smiled faintly, his gaze drifting to the glowing alarm systems etched into the walls.

Then, just for amusement, he let his aura spill out.

Alarms blared instantly.

"Danger! Danger! City-level threat detected! Danger! Danger—"

"Silence," Sara commanded coldly, raising her hand. The AI fell quiet at once.

Allen chuckled darkly. "Subarashi… I never imagined there was a base hidden beneath this land. I must say… I'm impressed."

"You underestimate us, demon," Sara replied, her crimson eyes flashing.

"Surely I did," Allen said, his smile widening. "But to me, you bats have never been a problem in the first place."

Her jaw tightened. She clenched her fist and leaned forward. "Say what you want. Once we find your contractor and kill him, you'll be dragged back to your world. Your legacy will end forever."

For a moment, Allen was silent. Then he threw back his head and laughed—an eerie, wicked laugh that echoed through the underground cities.

"Ahahahaha! Once you discover who my master truly is—no… who my master's wife is—you'll abandon the idea of killing altogether."

Sara's lips curved into a sharp smile. "I don't know who this so-called wife is. But we have our own weapon. The strongest one in existence. Once you see her… you'll beg me to send you back where you came from."

Both smiled with cold confidence, unaware of the cruel irony—

The master's wife Allen spoke of, and the weapon Sara mentioned, were one and the same.

Erza Konuari.

To be continued…

(Erza POV)

"Achooo~!" I sneezed so suddenly I almost startled myself.

"Tch." I wiped my nose, frowning. "Damn it… who the hell is taking my name?"

The irritation bubbled up, almost making me sound angry. I crossed my arms and muttered under my breath, "It better not be that Fiona brat…"
