Chapter 44 - Xue Qinghe – Don’t Get Lost in Romance

The crowd, unaware of the truth, simply assumed that Yu Yuanzhen was spouting nonsense to cover up the fact that Yu Tianming had a soul bone—so as to avoid attracting greedy attention in the future.

Only Ning Fengzhi, who was currently treating Gu Xuan, understood the real meaning. He chuckled and said, "This was just a case of Gu Xuan being outmatched. Whether Tianming has a soul bone or not, he still wouldn't have been his opponent."

At that, Yu Yuanzhen snorted coldly and said no more.

A person's martial soul greatly affects their personality. Ever since breaking through, Yu Yuanzhen had stopped treating the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan with much regard and had become much more blunt and unrestrained in his words and actions.

With the fight over, the crowd gradually dispersed into small groups, chatting animatedly about the recent battle.

Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi came running over from not far away, visibly excited. They surrounded Yu Tianming and started praising his performance, each one speaking over the other.

Although they were technically maids, Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi were treated like direct disciples within the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. They dressed like pampered noble ladies—completely different from the tea-serving servant girls nearby.

Seeing the two girls, Dai Weisi clasped his hands behind his neck and gave a lazy yet meaningful smile. "Tianming, you're still so young and already have two beauties at your side. Not bad at all."

Because his relationship with them hadn't reached that level yet—and also because he cared about maintaining a gentlemanly image—Yu Tianming quickly denied it. "You're reading too much into it. They're just my attendants."

But seeing the look in Dai Weisi's eyes grow even more suggestive, Yu Tianming didn't want to hurt Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi's feelings and added,

"Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi both have impressive innate soul power. The clan is grooming them as core members."

Dai Weisi lightly probed their soul power and was surprised to find it close to his own cultivation level. He couldn't help but be impressed by the foundation of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan.

Still, he said with a smirk, "No need to play coy, Tianming. In a big clan, carrying on the bloodline is important. We all understand how these things work."

Indeed, many sects on the Douluo Continent sought out talented female soul masters to continue their line, though few forced it like Qian Xunji had. And even fewer would speak about it this bluntly.

As Dai Weisi's words became more and more suggestive, Yu Tianming finally chose silence.

Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi, faces flushed bright red, excused themselves and left in a hurry.

After they left, Qian Renxue—still disguised as Xue Qinghe—couldn't help but speak up with a frown, "Tianming, you're in a critical period of cultivation. Don't let yourself be distracted by romance, or it might hinder your future achievements."

No sooner had she said that than she seemed to realize something and blushed herself.

Yu Tianming smiled helplessly and replied, "Brother Xue, I'm only ten years old. Isn't it a bit early for that kind of thing?"

Qian Renxue immediately straightened her expression, as if playing the role of a strict elder. "The first twenty years are the fastest for a soul master's cultivation. Don't learn bad habits from Dai Weisi. There's plenty of time for that after you're grown."

Dai Weisi chuckled shamelessly. "At this rate, Tianming could've already given the clan several gifted children. Your Highness, you might be the one leading him astray."

Though Dai Weisi made a valid point, Qian Renxue felt an inexplicable sense of irritation in her chest when she heard it.

She ignored him and turned to Yu Tianming.

To prevent another argument from breaking out, Yu Tianming quickly said, "I'm fully focused on cultivation. I'll only consider those matters when I've made a name for myself."

Qian Renxue smiled faintly at his response, the corners of her lips curling slightly, and said no more.

Dai Weisi sighed as though disappointed by a wasted opportunity, but didn't argue further.

Marriage and romance on the Douluo Continent had always been a paradox.

On one extreme were people who married and had children very late—like Tang Hao, who was 44 when he had Tang San with Ah Yin. Tang Xiao, 16 years older than Tang Hao, was already 60. Qian Xunji also secluded himself until his fifties or sixties before forcing himself on his disciple.

On the other end were people who indulged early and wildly—like Ma Hongjun, who was hanging around brothels at age six, and Dai Mubai, who was partying and womanizing by twelve.

Several hours later, the time came for Dugu Bo's coronation.

The previously scattered crowd gathered again. Under their watchful gaze, Yu Yuanzhen personally oversaw the ceremony, granting Dugu Bo his title—"Poison."

A platinum bishop from the Spirit Hall recorded the new title of "Poison Douluo" in the official records.

In the original story, Yu Xiaogang once referred to Dugu Bo as the "Jade Phosphor Douluo," a title given to him by Spirit Hall. After falling out with them, Dugu Bo rebranded himself as "Poison Douluo."

Since the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan wasn't beholden to Spirit Hall, Yu Yuanzhen simply gave him the new title himself.

After the coronation, the visitors began to take their leave.

Dai Weisi turned to Yu Tianming and grinned.

"Tianming, if you ever come to the Star Luo Empire, I'll make sure to treat you well. You'll be free to choose from the finest beauties."

Before he could get far, Qian Renxue, Ning Fengzhi, and the others approached.

Ning Fengzhi came forward and said earnestly, "I've spoiled Rongrong too much. Tianming, for my sake, don't hold her behavior against her. I'd much rather see you two become friends."

With his handsome, refined appearance and spotless white robe, Ning Fengzhi exuded a scholarly charm. His gentle gaze radiated warmth and sincerity.

Thinking of the soul tool he'd gifted him, Yu Tianming replied honestly, "Rongrong is just a bit lively, not a bad person. Besides, she's so cute—I wouldn't have the heart to argue with her."

Ning Fengzhi smiled at his words and took his leave politely.

Qian Renxue, still pretending to be Xue Qinghe, also stepped forward. "Your talent is unmatched in this generation, Tianming. Don't let Dai Weisi lead you astray. The top soul masters in history all devoted themselves fully to cultivation in their youth."

Ning Fengzhi added with a smile, "Take Tang Hao, the youngest titled Douluo, as an example. We hope you'll surpass him and set a new record."

Yu Tianming could only nod and agree.

But in his heart, he muttered, 'Qian Renxue might be devoted to her ambitions now, uninterested in love—but didn't her final god trial involve sleeping with "pure-hearted young master Tang San"? And she even did it on live broadcast for everyone to see.'

'She's a pitiful girl—fatherless from a young age, hated by her own mother. Like many women in Douluo, she has her flaws, but deep down she's not a bad person.'

'Though the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and Spirit Hall are technically enemies, not everyone in Spirit Hall is on the same side. If she ever turns against that crazy woman Bibi Dong, I might just help her out.'

As Qian Renxue, Ning Fengzhi, and the others walked off into the distance—

Yu Tianming suddenly caught the sound of Ning Rongrong speaking softly to her father, thinking they were far enough away.

"I don't get why you keep defending someone so annoying," she whispered. "When I awaken my martial soul, I'll definitely teach him a lesson."

Yu Tianming was speechless.

'So this is the little devil, huh? Fine, I'll remember what you said. Let's see who ends up teaching who a lesson.'
