Following the Water Wheel, Ryuji continued his mid-air spin, plunging his Nichirin Blade into the ground, using it as a pivot point to regain his balance in a kneeling stance.
Having regained his balance, Ryuji immediately counterattacked. Upper Rank Three's leg was severed, and Ryuji had to capitalize on this opportunity.
Upper Rank Three attempted to regenerate his leg immediately, but unexpectedly, he couldn't. He quickly regained his composure.
He rolled and then used a one-legged hop to create distance.
Ryuji, however, pressed his advantage.

Ryuji used the Flowing Current Dance's agility to try and get behind Upper Rank Three.
Upper Rank Three anticipated this. His mobility was impaired by the missing leg, forcing him to use his martial arts to repel Ryuji.
