Akaza's severed head witnessed Ryuji's feat, his expression mirroring the shock. However, he quickly realized this outcome was beneficial; it proved his failure wasn't his fault but due to Ryuji's extraordinary abilities.
Because Akaza's head wasn't severed by a Nichirin Blade or Ryuji's Nichirin Blade, he wouldn't die.
However, Akaza couldn't comprehend what was happening to his severed arm. He felt a corrosive force, causing an unprecedented level of pain.
He tried to regenerate his arm, but it remained unresponsive. Akaza realized this was due to the corrosive force, which he sensed was slowly spreading throughout his body.
Despite his efforts, he couldn't remove the force. This was unlike before, when his regeneration was merely suppressed; now, his abilities were completely nullified.
