Hinaki grinned triumphantly, clearly enjoying having teased him.
"Secret! I'm not telling!" she giggled, sticking out her tongue and making a playful face.
Seeing Hinaki's reluctance, Ryuji immediately began tickling her sides and armpits. Hinaki erupted in laughter, twisting and turning to escape his touch.
"I surrender! I surrender!" she pleaded, breathless with laughter.
Ryuji stopped immediately and used Wood Breathing to gently infuse Hinaki with a measured amount of Wood Breath, helping her regain her composure.
Seeing her like this, Ryuji felt only concern.
"Are you alright?" he asked worriedly.
Hinaki felt a revitalizing comfort from the faint green glow emanating from Ryuji's hand. She felt incredibly safe under his care.
She shook her head. "See how anxious you got? Fine, I'll tell you!"
After Hinaki's explanation, Ryuji understood how she knew about his relationship with Shinobu.
Hinaki had used a Yushiro charm and a crow. Since crows were common in the Demon Slayer Corps, this was hard to detect.
Ryuji also learned that the Ubuyashiki family collaborated with Tamayo and Yushiro. The wisteria poison Shinobu used was initially developed by Tamayo and later refined and improved by Shinobu, who was skilled in pharmacology.
Hinaki had obtained a visual-sharing charm Yushiro left for Kagaya Ubuyashiki, attached it to a crow, and used it to monitor Ryuji.
This "broadcaster" meant Hinaki had been closely observing Ryuji's every move.
Ryuji couldn't help but chuckle at Hinaki's cleverness for her age.
"Ryuji, in a few years, I'll make you completely fall for me!" Hinaki hinted playfully.
Ryuji understood her meaning, smiled, and pinched her nose. "Behave yourself!"
They spent a long time together before Hinaki declared it was late. "It's getting late; I should go back!"
Ryuji didn't try to keep her. "It's time to go."
They stood up. Hinaki brushed herself off and, turning to Ryuji, asked, "You still haven't answered my question. Whose mouth is sweeter?"
"Yours," Ryuji replied, choosing her.
Hinaki smiled faintly. Though she knew he was saying what she wanted to hear, sometimes girls simply enjoy hearing such things.
Hinaki leaned towards Ryuji again, closing her eyes.
