Chapter 9 - Time For Action!

The cloth covering Giant's eyes was removed. The creature immediately went on a rampage, chasing the prisoners trapped inside the cage.

All the spectators began cheering for the prisoners.

"These people are sick, man. Why the fuck are they even cheering? This isn't a fucking game, you fucking bastards!" Khai shouted, running from Giant's rampage.

"Here, they've turned it into a gambling game. But since money has no value anymore, they bet other things like food or anything else that is useful."

"The world's already gone to hell and they're still gambling? What are they, animals?!"

"Don't compare them to animals. Animals are better than they are," Ilyas replied.

Several minutes passed. Contestant No. 141 could no longer keep running and, in the end, was caught by Giant.

Giant brutally killed contestant 141, splitting his torso in two with a single pull and causing his intestines to fall out.

The spectators grew even more excited after witnessing the scene. Khai felt increasingly sickened by the sight of people cheering for the death of another human being.

"Alright! Fifteen minutes have passed, and only four contestants are still alive. So, let's raise the difficulty level...!"

"... RELEASE THE SECOND GIANT MONSTER!!"

The Iron Fist gang members unleashed another Giant into the cage. The cloth covering its eyes was removed, and the beast immediately went berserk inside the arena.

"OH HELL NO, HE BROUGHT BACKUP?! I WAS ALREADY ABOUT TO DIE FACING ONE DEMIGON, NOW THERE'S TWO GIANT MONSTERS?!"

The remaining contestants struggled to save themselves from the pursuit of the two ruthless and merciless Gargantuars.

"Hey Il, how much longer do I have to keep this up? I'm dead tired from running around like a hamster in the cage!" Khai asked.

"Five more minutes."

Contestant No. 149 was already exhausted and finally collapsed. The two Gargantuars caught and killed him.

His body was thrown and smashed onto the floor, scattering his flesh everywhere.

"Why don't those monsters just break out of the cage and kill everyone outside instead..."

"... There's only a handful of us in here. Out there, there's a whole crowd of people they could go after."

"They can't break through this cage. It's insanely strong—takes at least three Giants to even have a chance of destroying it."

Five minutes had passed. Ilyas gave Khai the signal to execute their plan.

"Hehehe..."

"...Finally."

Tok Chen, who could no longer keep running due to his age, could only surrender to his fate.

The Giant, seeing Tok Chen sitting silently on the ground, launched an attack toward him.

"It's time for us to meet again, my dear."

Before the Giant could strike Tok Chen, Ilyas stepped in front of him to shield him.

"What are you doing?!"

"Tok, do you trust me?" Ilyas asked.

"Huh?"

The Giant swung a blow as powerful as a cement truck toward Ilyas and Tok Chen.

Ilyas blocked the attack with just one hand.

The sight left Tok Chen and the spectators—including Ivan—shocked and unable to believe what they had just witnessed.

"Don't tell me that kid is just like me," Ivan thought.

Khai, who also witnessed the scene, was stunned. He had always believed that Ilyas was someone who relied solely on his brains rather than physical strength.

Ilyas turned back to Tok Chen and asked again,

"Tok, do you trust me?"

Tok Chen could only nod, still in a state of confusion.

Ilyas then snapped the Giant's arm. The creature screamed in pain from the loss of its limb.

Consumed by rage, the Giant launched a furious assault at Ilyas—

—but Ilyas effortlessly dodged every attack thrown his way.

The Giant unleashed a relentless flurry of attacks at Ilyas, but to him, they were nothing more than a child's game. He dodged them all with ease.

Ilyas glanced at the clock on the wall—it showed that thirty minutes had passed.

"Playtime's over."

Ilyas walked toward the Giant. The monster braced itself to attack—

—but in the blink of an eye, Ilyas was already behind it.

No one there had seen what just happened.

Suddenly, the Giant collapsed, a massive hole torn through its stomach.

Everyone present fell silent, and the once noisy shopping mall was suddenly filled with an eerie quiet.

The silence was broken when the remaining Giant approached the corpse of the fallen one—

—and began to eat it.

The onlookers were disgusted and horrified; they had never witnessed anything like it before.

The Giant grew even stronger after devouring the corpse of its fallen kin.

Its skin hardened—so tough it could withstand three tank shells. Its speed also increased, granting it power beyond that of three Giants combined.

It launched a furious assault toward Ilyas with its enhanced strength and speed.

But the Giant didn't realize that Ilyas was already at the far end of the cage.

Ilyas easily dodged the attack.

Unable to control its momentum, the Giant accidentally smashed through the cage—

—and obliterated everyone in its path, leaving nothing behind.

The people who witnessed it began to flee in terror.

The Giant went on a rampage, killing anyone who crossed its path.

It also destroyed the chambers that held other monsters, including Demigons and Crawlers.

The Iron Fist gang tried to eliminate the monsters that had escaped and gone berserk,

—but most of them were slaughtered by the very creatures they had once controlled.

Khai rushed to save Tok Chen and headed toward the prison cells to free the remaining captives.

Although he was confronted by several Demigons, Khai managed to get past them and reached the prison.

Upon arrival, Khai knocked out the prison guard with a powerful blow and took the prison keys. He unlocked the cells and freed the prisoners.

Just as they were about to escape, Khan, Mamat, and several members of the Iron Fist gang blocked their path.

"Oi, where do you think you're going!" Mamat shouted.

Khai had been waiting for this moment ever since he and Ilyas were captured by them. He began mocking Mamat.

"Eh, eh. Look, there's a bald guy. What's up, man? Want me to help polish that shiny head of yours?"

The people nearby had to hold back their laughter.

"Who're you calling bald, you fucking cunt?!"

"Huh? He's the one who's bald and he doesn't even realize it. Want me to get you a mirror? Actually, never mind, you already have one right on your head."

Khai's mockery made everyone laugh, including Khan, who smiled while trying to hold back his laughter.

This embarrassed Mamat and made him even more furious.

"You say that one more time, I swear I will fucking kill you." Threatened Mamat.

"Bro, don't point your head at me. I won't be able to see you. There are already so many lights up here—don't add more."

The provocation successfully enraged Mamat.

Mamat directed his subordinates to execute all of the prisoners who tried to escape, while Mamat dealt with Khai, who had mocked him before.

"Tok Chen, take them to a safe place."

"What about you?" Tok Chen asked.

"Heh, don't worry. These guys are just all talk," Khai replied.

Tok Chen led the prisoners to safety, while Khai, unarmed, faced them with unmatched courage.

With a solid physique and a heart pounding in his chest, Khai prepared to face 50 enemies armed with nothing but his own strength and agility.

They began to attack, but they vastly underestimated Khai.

With every precise punch to the face and quick step, Khai fought against the 50 enemies—his bare hands becoming sharper than the machetes they wielded.

There was no fear, only the martial arts he had learned long ago, as he defeated one opponent after another without mercy.

Khan and Mamat were shocked, as they hadn't expected the kid standing before them to be the same one who had begged for his life just eight days ago.

"Heh. Pathetic. This is the so-called strongest gang here? You're telling me a 17-year-old kid can defeat you? Go home and play marbles instead."

From behind, Mamat launched an attack toward Khai.

But Khai, aware of Mamat's position, easily dodged the strike.

"Wow, already resorting to sneak attacks, huh? Acting like a little kid."

Khai baited Mamat, making him lash out blindly in anger.

Every attack from Mamat was easily dodged by Khai, which only made Mamat more furious.

Khan tried to help Mamat by ambushing Khai from behind.

Khai was aware of Khan's position and launched a counterattack straight to his stomach.

Despite Khan's large, muscular build, just one punch sent him reeling in pain.

Khan was thrown several meters back toward the wall and collapsed unconscious, leaving Mamat in shock.

"Impossible. Khan is the second strongest person here. How could this immature kid knock him out like that...?"

"...Who is this kid?"

Khai was also stunned by the outcome. He hadn't realized that something had changed within him, making him stronger than usual.

"Wow... I didn't know I could hit that hard."

Khai looked at Mamat, who stood there in stunned silence, unable to comprehend the unbelievable situation.

"So... where were we?"

Khai slowly approached, causing Mamat to tremble in fear, his grip tightening around the iron bar in his hands.

Mamat feels that even though he has more than 100 people fighting here, it is still not enough to kill Khai.

"Keep your mouth shut, unless you want to lose all your teeth!"

Khai punched Mamat right in the face, sending him flying far away and causing him to faint.

After the chaos subsided, Khai motioned for the prisoners to come out.

They were shocked to see the members of the Iron Fist gang, including Mamat and Khan, defeated at Khai's hands.
