Chapter 32 - The Last Sharp

"You arrive."

A cold voice was heard.

Ilyas stepped out from the shadows, his eyes sharp as he looked at the man in the hoodie who was now unable to movean inch.

One by one, the shadows surrounding him revealed themselves.

Tok Hussein, Badang, and Samar appeared before the man.

"As I expected that you will come here after you the destruction that you made has failed."

They all saw the room filled with all kinds of drugs.

Additionally, there is a secret path leading out of the village.

"What is this place?" asked Badang, surprised by the sight he saw.

"Drug's store". Said Ilyas.

"A place that sells drugs for stupid people's"

"I've heard rumors about a place that specifically provides drugs."

"I didn't expect the place to be here,"Samar said.

"After I heard what happened in this village from Badang and Badrul before he died..."

"There are a few things that don't make sense..."

"Started with Badrul, who had initially reconciled with the villagers, but suddenly the villagers lost their minds after Badrul was accused of taking drugs..."

"Although they have a dark history with drugs, I don't think that would suddenly make them lose their mind."

"Also Abu, who suddenly accused Badrul without giving Badrul a chance to explain himself."

"From my observation during my stay in this village, Abu is not the type of person who would eagerly accuse someone."

Badang and Samar only realized at that moment that Abu was behaving strangely toward Badrul, even though Abu and Badrul had never had any problems with each other before.

"After I try to connecting the dots from all those stories with what happened recently, I can conclude one thing."

"The people wearing the Sunset Mask have entered this village for a long time and have been observing your and Badrul's movements." Said Ilyas, looking at Badang.

"At first, they might have only watching you. But after they saw Badrul's heroic actions when he killed all the Demigons just by using his brain, they started observing Badrul as well." Clear, Ilyas.

"But why are those people watching the two of them?" asked Tok Hussein.

"Most likely, their group already knows about gifts and trying to gather or kidnapp people with gifts for their still unknown purposes." Ilyas replied.

Badang and Samar were surprised because they didn't expect anyone else beside Ilyas to know about the gift.

"So, what's the connection between those people and this man?" asked Samar.

"They can't bring the two of you into their group because your natures contradict with their principles,"

"If they try to force both of you to join their group, they will suffer significant losses because their Gift are not specifically for combat."

"So, they tried to find someone who has a deep-seated grudge against one of you two and incite them by tempting them with something they desired."

"After gaining a puppet they could control as they wish, they made a plan to divide the villagers against the two of you."

"When they found out about Badrul's past and the dark history of this village, they took advantage of that to get Badrul kicked out, claiming he was involved with drugs."

"They waiting for the right moment to strike their action. And that time was when Abu and Atan were on duty."

"They command their puppet to lure Abu to an empty place and knock him unconcious there."

"After a while, Abu woke up and didn't remember what had happened."

"When he saw Badrul alone in the dark lane, his memory was filled with false memory made by them."

"That resulted in Abu not being able to think twice and accused Badrul"

Hearing this, Badang and Samar, clenching their fist, suppresign the anger within them as they learned the truth behind the event from the past.

"For the week I stay here, I've been tried to find the clue about the puppet they were controlling."

"I tried to linked the puppet with Nisa."

"So, I spent the whole day gathering information about Nisa. I can't ask you two because of the incident in the past."

Nisa is an orphan who was later adopted by a family.

Her kind and humble nature, made her adoptive father and mother loved her dearly, as if she were their own daughter.

However, unlike his adoptive father and mother, her adoptive brother didn't see her as his little sister, but rather as a woman.

Nisa was aware of that because of his behaviour toward her is very strange, but she can't tell her adoptive parent because she can't prove anything.

One day, while Nisa was cleaning the kitchen after her adoptive parent go out, she found something strange on the floor.

She found the door that lead her to hidden room.

It was there that she realized the hidden truth within she house that she lived.

And it was also there that she uncovered the dark side of her adoptive brother.

Samar and Badang, who knew nothing about this, fell silent, unable to utter a single word.

At that moment, Nisa tried to escape from the place. But unfortunately, she ran into her adoptive brother, who just got back from somewhere, at the Drrug Store's entrance.

Panicked because Nisa now know about his secret, he tried to silenced her.

However, a sinister idea flashed through his mind.

The drug store was a soundproof underground room. Even if there is a sound that very loud in the room, no one will know it.

He begin do something that can't be imagine to Nisa in that room.

Nisa tried to call for help, but no one can hear the cries of the unfortunate girl.

No matter how hard Nisa tried to fight back, because of the difference in physique and strength, at the end...

Nisa fell.

After that incident, even though her mind was severely damage, she kept trying to tell er adoptive parent about her adoptive brother.

However, until the night fell, the two of them never returned.

The dissapearence of her adoptive parent remains a mystery.

Since then, Nisa only show her smile, the smile that look like doll.

It's not because she has forgetten that has happened in the drug store...

But...

Because she doesn't want Samar to know and worried about her.

That is the suffering borne by an 11-year old girl

Samar collapsed, like a knight who failed to protect her princess.

Tear streamed down on his face, but he couldn't express his grief because of the story that has shattered everything.

"So..." Tok Hussein spoke up.

"This guy... is her adoptive brother?"

Hearing that, Badang and Samar turned sharp gazes toward the man.

Their eyes, filled with unbearable hatred and fury, could kill him at any moment.

"First, I want to ask you three something."

Badang, Samar and Tok Hussein looked at Ilyas.

Do any of you know about Nisa's personal life.

They shooked their heads.

"She lived in a very secluded part of this village. the only thing that made her known to others was her kindness toward everyone here." said Tok Hussein.

"In this village, all the resident easily socialize with each other. But, that's precisely what made it harder for him to be accused of being involved with drugs."

"Besides socializing, he also tried to help other to avoid looking suspecious."

Ilyas slowly approached the mysterious man, stirring anxiety within him.

"After he learned about the romantic relationship between Badrul and Nisa, he felt angry and afraid that Nisa will tell Badrul about the past incident."

"So, he willingly made himself their puppet."

"With the goal of eliminating both of them."

"Isn't that right.."

Ilyas yanked off the man's hood with a single pull, revealing his face.

"... Atan."
