Uzumaki Benitsu commanded as he took his position, too. Then, he immediately formed a set of five hand seals in less than one second, crouched down, and slammed both of his palms on the flat surface of the elevated platform he was standing on.
Earth Release: Earth and Stone Dragon
Rich Earth Release chakra quickly gushed out of his hands before merging with the ground. The chakra molded the earth and quickly created a solid serpentine dragonic construct made of resilient earth and tough stones.
The nearly 15-meter-long dragon roared at the chakra beasts before rushing forward and slamming into a group of them.
The earth dragon alone hit one C-rank, five D-rank, and one E-rank chakra beasts, turning them into mangled flesh and blood while continuing forward toward one of the water-attributed B-rank chakra beasts.
Earth was naturally strong against the water, and the chakra beasts had enough intelligence to know that.
So, it immediately side-stepped to avoid the solid dragon construct's trajectory, causing the earth and stone dragon to hit the empty ground with tremendous momentum.
Booooooom~
The construct slammed hard onto the ground, leaving a deep crater with multiple spider-web-like cracks surrounding it.
One Jutsu caused a total of seven chakra beasts to die. However, it was clear that long-range Ninjutsu couldn't harm the more powerful and agile chakra beasts.
And the water-attributed B-rank chakra beast that dodged the Jutsu wasn't idle either.
As it dodged, it already locked onto a group of ninjas using Fire Release techniques and attacked them with its powerful innate skill.
Innate Skill: Giant Water Bomb
A five-meter-wide sphere of water formed above its head, and the beast shot it toward a seemingly unsuspecting group of ninjas who were attacking other beasts from one of the elevated platforms.
By the time these ninjas sensed the giant sphere of water coming toward them, it was already too late.
A Jonin released a stream of high-speed scorching flames from his mouth to intercept the water sphere, but his efforts were all in vain.
The water sphere doused the flames and reached the group of six ninjas' location. And the moment it came in front of them, it exploded and released waves of high-pressure water and an immense shockwave.
Booooooom!!!!
The high-pressure water tore through their clothes, muscles, and bones. Next, the powerful shockwave hit them, scattering their bloody body parts everywhere while destroying a large chunk of the elevated platform.
Five ninjas, one Genin, three Chunin, and one Special Jonin died in that attack. Only the full-fledged Jonin survived by dodging the high-pressure water as much as possible before quickly using the Substitution Jutsu.
Even then, his body was filled with numerous lacerations, and the deadly impact of the shockwave at the last second made his bones and internal organs rattle.
Cough!! Cough!!
He coughed up a few mouthfuls of blood and panted heavily while hiding his body behind the platforms.
"Hah hah…I survived."
"Barely," said the Jonin as he reached out to his ninja pouch, took out a minor recovery potion, and chugged it all in one gulp.
Soon, his complexion began to improve while he tried to calm his mind with his eyes looking at the sky.
He exhaled heavily and told himself, "Time to go back."
After a couple of minutes of rest, he joined the battlefield once again.

The last incident wasn't an isolated event. Similar things were happening all around the battlefield.
Ninjas and samurai were attacking the chakra beasts with powerful Ninjutsu of various elements and mighty flying chakra slashes.
Meanwhile, the beasts were also retaliating with their destructive innate skills. And those attacks were causing heavy injuries and casualties on Konoha's side.
And Seimei, who was watching those scenes while fighting, had a blank expression on his face.
"So, this is the true face of a large battlefield, huh?"
"A meatgrinder of life."
"It doesn't matter how strong you are; one timely sneak attack can take your life."
"Genin, Chunin, Jonin—on the battlefield, everyone dies all the same."
He murmured as he saw an Earth spear coming at him from an unsuspecting angle, thanks to his Tenseigan's 360-degree vision.
Whoosh!!
Seimei jumped and did a backflip in the air to dodge the Earth spear, letting it pass below him. At the same time, while he was still in the air formed a single-handed seal.
Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique
Before his feet landed on the ground, Seimei expelled a large amount of flame from his mouth, which turned into a four-meter-long dragon-head-shaped fireball.
The Jutsu rushed to the C-rank Elite chakra beast that hurled the Earth spear and hit it squarely without giving it any time to retreat. As soon as the Jutsu touched the beast's body, it exploded.
Booooom!!!
The fiery explosion engulfed the beast, turning it into a lifeless, charred corpse.
As soon as his feet landed on the ground, he took out his Ninjato and channeled lightning chakra through it.
The blade's cutting and destructive power amplified as purple arcs of lightning began to dance around it like coiling snakes and spread outwards.
Kenjutsu: Chidori Katana
His body spun 180 degrees in the right direction, and he slashed his blade horizontally with full force.
Ting~
Booooom!!!
The lightning-infused blade hit a massive boulder head-on and destroyed it with a loud boom.
The stone fragments flew into the air, but none of them could hit Seimei or Uchiha Sorata, who was just behind him, because of the potent electric discharge from his blade.
Seeing this, Uchiha Sorata gave him a thumbs up and said, "Nice save!!"
Seimei chuckled as he condensed a lot of lightning chakra into his blade while he formed a snake hand seal with his left hand.
Then, he pointed the tip of his blade at an unsuspecting B-rank water-attribute chakra beast. Bolts of lightning were crackling on his blade and around him, so much so that it was almost blinding.
Chidori Katana: Lightning Beam
A blinding, fast, and destructive beam of concentrated lightning was released from the tip of Seimei's blade, and it hit the head of the B-rank water-attribute chakra beast within less than a tenth of a second.
The beast didn't even have time to react, and it could only watch helplessly as the lightning beam passed through its head, shattering and frying it entirely.
The chakra beast didn't even feel pain as it died unknowingly.
Meanwhile, the lightning beam continued and killed two more C-rank and one D-rank chakra beasts.
Booom! Crackle! Rumble!
Then, it hit the ground, causing a rumbling explosion filled with destructive lightning bolts, which severely injured tens of chakra beasts nearby.
While Seimei was launching his Lightning Beam Jutsu, Uchiha Sorata stepped forward and created a couple of hand seals while gazing at the beast that launched the boulder at them.
Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique
A giant, five-meter-wide fireball was formed in front of Sorata, who quickly launched it toward the boulder-throwing beast, who was in the process of creating another boulder.
Unfortunately for the beast, before it could even create the boulder, the fireball arrived in front of it, causing it to feel the searing heat that could even melt metals.
Under its dumbfounded gaze, the fireball crashed into it and exploded.
Booooooom!!!
The explosion blasted the chakra beast's body apart, making its charred body parts, blood, sparks, and dust fly in the air.
Seimei looked at the explosion, which looked like a piece of art if you didn't mind the gore, and whistled, "What a beautiful scenery!"
Uchiha Sorata wanted to ask if the battlefield twisted his sense of beauty, but he didn't have time to speak.
Because a powerful jet of water came at him, which he was forced to dodge using the Substitution Jutsu.
He exclaimed, "Phew! Almost got hit by that."
"Let me take care of it," said Seimei as he formed a hand seal while puffing his mouth a bit.
Wind Release: Vacuum Bullet Barrage
No less than thirty vacuum bullets were launched by Seimei at the C-rank chakra beast that just attacked Sorata.
The bullets created a tight formation that was almost impossible to dodge. As a result, even though the beast tried to dodge, its limbs, lungs, throat, eye, and heart were still pierced by the vacuum bullets, snuffing its life out within seconds.
After dealing with the annoying sneak attacker, Seimei stared at the incoming horde of C-rank and D-rank chakra beasts and fell into a deep thought.
"Let's cast something big."
Seimei formed three hand seals this time, molded at least 8,000 units of chakra, and converted it to Water Release chakra, which began to influence the water vapor in the air.
Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave
The surrounding water vapor condensed into water droplets before they gathered together and formed a catastrophic pillar of rotating water around Seimei.
After one second, the rotating water pillar became nearly twenty meters tall, covering nearly all the area of the elevated platform, only leaving a little area for Uchiha Sorata to stand.
Then, a huge amount of surging water exploded outwards before crashing down, creating a devastating wave of water ready to crush, swallow, and wash away all the nearby chakra beasts.
When the tons of heavy water crashed onto the ground, the nearby C-rank and D-rank chakra beasts were smashed into meat pastes by the weight and downward momentum of the huge water wave.
Then, the wave surged even more as it advanced, swallowing the unfortunate chakra beasts, including a fire-attributed B-rank chakra beast.
The chakra beasts couldn't resist the momentum of the water as the waves advanced 150+ meters, all while smashing the drowned chakra beasts against several elevated earth constructs within the altered terrain.
The other ninjas didn't miss this chance either.
They cast several powerful Lightning Release Jutsu to the water wave, severely electrocuting the chakra beasts trapped within the body of water.
A few weaker chakra beasts were directly shocked to death. Meanwhile, the relatively strong chakra beasts were paralyzed by the lightning.
Seeing the paralyzed state of the chakra beasts, several samurai attacked them with flying chakra slashes, killing and injuring at least thirty chakra beasts.
As for the B-rank fire-attribute chakra beast that was engulfed by the wave, Uchiha Sorata attacked it with a wind blade, decapitating it in one swift move.
Seimei exhaled and asked, "How much longer till we enter the close combat phase?"
Uchiha Sorata scanned the battlefield while replying, "It should begin soon."
"When the chakra reserves of most ninjas and samurai plummet to 50% of their full capacity, we will probably receive orders to engage in close combat."
"Understood," responded Seimei.
Even if my chakra plummets to 50% of my entire reserve, I would still have over twenty times more chakra than most Jonin.
Plenty to protect myself while causing some big ruckus within the ranks of chakra beasts.
When the time to engage in close combat comes, I will show these beasts the terror of the Shadow Clone Jutsu.
Seimei thought inwardly as he erected a wall made of earth to block a powerful jet of water coming toward them, and focused on the chakra beast that attacked him.
Seimei narrowed his eyes.
"Oh well…"
"I will think about that when the time comes."
"Let's deal with these beasts now."
