"Ahhh" Lalith cried out in surprise when just she reached at the end of the stairs, someone pulled her from it.
She closed her eyes in fear but instead of pain she fell into the muscled embrace. Opening her eyes she saw half opened chest of Zydus. Hurriedly getting out of his embrace, she looked up to him and found his giving a glance on her phone screen. Hurriedly she switched off the screen.
"What is this? What are you even trying to do?" Not understanding the reasoning of his action. She questioned him staring blankly.
Zydus, with his all time must cold look and stern glare, looking at her with his deep grey eyes was like sucking her soul by staring.
"What?" Feeling his unusual behaviour her voice dropped by a tone. 'Everything was okay few minutes ago so what happened now.' She thought to herself. 'Did I do something?'
"You shouldn't use your phone on the stairs." Came his cold voice that can freeze a lake. Then leaning towards her , he whispered in her ears; "And we are married, you can't get close to another man." His breath hitting Lalith's neck making her have goosebumps.
Lalith stunned to see the face of man very close that she was smelling the shaving cream he used to shave. Then because of his breath a tingling sensation emerged from her heart. When she heard the words , she understood why the cold behaviour.
Surpressing her feelings, she hurriedly said; "Just a close friend. From my college time."
"HOW CLOSE?" Came his slow and deep voice.
Trying to clarify her relationship with Adam she said something that dropped the temperature around them by few more degrees. Realising her mistake of words;
" Like my brother."
Panick clearly in her eyes that anyone can see , she replied the meaning of close between her and Adam.
She didn't know that every her words and action was strictly observed by him. And seeing the panick she had before replying, his heart turned cold. Pulling her towards himself by the waist, he gripped her chin.
"Once you are mine, don't you dare to hide anything from me. I wouldn't let you go anywhere . NOT BEFORE MY LAST BREATH."
His last words made her hitch. Seeing the passion, aggression and suppressed pain in his grey eyes, she hugged her to avoid his eyes.
She was afraid of his strong emotions towards her. Then she remembered Grandfather Lambert's words and calm herself down. 'If anyone could found the one they were searching for years, the strong obsession was for sure.' She thought.
"I would let you meet him soon." Trying to calm herself and him she replied still hugging.
"Hmmmm" he hummed.
Sensing that he calmed down she let him go. Not feeling the softness and warmth on him, Zydus frowned and his desire to feel the same again emerged but thinking that his obsession for her would make her scared, he restrained himself and only hold her hands.
"Let's go to eat." He took her to the dining table and pulled the chair for her.
Andra was bringing the toast from the kitchen smiled at them. Thinking that his master finally can relax, she was happy from heart.
Breakfast was smile toast with butter and juice. As her favourite. Eating happily she checked the time, seeing that only thirty minutes left , so she only eaten half then drank the juice before getting up.
"Let's go, I will send you ." Lalith saw that the man in front also stood up before opening his lips. She wanted him to finish his breakfast first as he only drank the juice , but the look he was giving that says you can't say no made her stop.
Thinking the about the distance and the time she had , she nodded. This time the driver was different , no longer the secretary. For the whole way to her office building he was reading the documents placed in the car, so they didn't talk.
Actually Zydus wanted to hold her, hug her, kiss her. But again thinking he might scare her by his obsession, did nothing and stopping himself by work.
Reaching at the office building, Lalith opened the car door to get of but her wrist grabbed by the man beside her. Turning her head she looked at him, confused.
"Are you forgetting something?" Watching her leave ,he decided to give her a hint of responsibility towards her husband.
Understanding the hidden meaning of his words, she turned red. Then before he could even react, she kissed his left cheek and hurriedly got off the car. Zydus who stunned at first but smiled at her shyness.
Driver Hunk, rubbed his eyes to see if he was seeing the right or it was just his blurry eyes. Realising his boss was really smiling, he was shocked and looked at the front mirror in daze.
"Let's go." The cold instruction jolted him awake from daze and he hurriedly started the car. Zydus saw that Lalith entered the building ordered to go before making a phone call.
Lalith whose face still had some redness was in elevator. When someone patted her shoulder, she came back to her senses.
"Mam ? mam? , are you unwell?" Her assistant Maria, called her out.
"Ohh Yes, …..I mean no Maria. I am okay." Flustered Lalith replied hurriedly.
"I called you five times before you replied. Are you sure you are okay? It will be okay if you don't attend this meeting." Maris said in a tone that shows her resentment towards the meeting. Sensing Maria's emotions she said;
"It's okay Maria. And I must attend this meeting to expose my dearest friend, right?
She had given me lots of gift before. Now it's my turn." Lalith who was looking shy before now looking at her eyes that contains the confidence and power , anyone can be thrilled so as Maria.
Lalith step out of the elevator and Maria followed ,when it reached fourteenth floor. Looking at crowd gathered outside of meeting room, Lalith smirked. She recognise the person in the center of the crowd, who was accepting the blessing of the crowd with a fake smile.
"Your time is over, MY DEAR FRIEND. Last few minutes of happiness….. you can enjoy." Lalith said in heart with atmost hatred.
"Hey!" A joyful voice sounded from behind her.
