Noah exhaled a shaky breath, a mixture of relief and sorrow in his eyes. "I never gave up on her, you know? Even when I... when I thought she was gone, I never stopped hoping that one day, I'd be able to tell her everything. To... to be there for her again."
I reached across the table and placed my hand gently over his. "I know, Noah. And now, you'll get that chance. But she's going to need…you, she's going to need all of us."
He stared at me for a long moment, his hands gripping the edge of the table. I saw the raw emotion in his eyes, the overwhelming flood of happiness and sorrow combined. "I…I need to see her, Bella. I need to be there for her. You don't know what this means to me."
"I know," I said softly. "But we need to take it slow. She's not fully healed, and there's still a lot of confusion. But we'll figure it out together. We'll make sure Mia gets the support she needs."
