~Alex's POV
He muttered something under his breath, then pointed at the box beside me. "Focus on your own mess, Romeo. Don't drag me into it."
The car began to move again, and we both fell silent for a moment, the teasing fading into something heavier, quieter.
After a while, he spoke. "You really think Bella will forgive you when she finds out who you are? What you've done?"
I looked down at my hands. "I don't know. But I'm praying she loves me enough to try."
Luca sighed. "Then tell her soon, Alex. Before someone else does."
I nodded slowly, staring out at the city as it sped by.
"Yeah," I whispered. "I will."
Luca leaned his head back against the seat and blew out a slow breath. "You better, man. Secrets like that… they have a way of blowing up when you least expect."
I nodded, but I didn't say anything. My fingers tapped lightly on the box resting beside me, the thought of Bella filling every corner of my mind.
She still didn't know the real me.
