Chapter 6 - On New Year's Eve

After a long while, Zachary looked at Thea and said, "We can continue to talk."

"That's to say, Mr. Austin, you've finally relieved your anger?" Thea was overjoyed and quickly led the way. "That's great. This way please!"

She turned around and kicked Geoffrey. "Get lost!"

She caught up with Zachary and led him back into her villa.

"You live alone?" Zachary sat down on the sofa.

"That's right!" Thea smiled, with a bitter smile on her face.

"You live in such a big villa. It's a little lonely, isn't it? Where's your family?"

"Family?" Thea sighed. "I'm abandoned by my family. How could I have any family?"

"Why?" Zachary couldn't help but asked.

If both of them were abandoned by their families, then they could be regarded as the same kind of people.

"I'm an illegitimate daughter!" Thea was silent for a long time before she replied, "That family can't tolerate me at all. In their eyes, I'm their shame."

Zachary couldn't help but sigh in his heart. They were truly in the same boat. Zachary asked again, "And you don't even have a husband or boyfriend?"

"My father abandoned my mother and me, and it's too difficult for me to believe in men." Thea shook her head.

It was rare for Zachary to say so much. The main reason was that he had met someone who had similar experiences as him.

Thea was straightforward. She had told him all these private affairs. Of course, this was also a way for her to show her sincerity.

She had offended Zachary so much just now, so she tried her best to make up for it. Zachary coughed and said, "Let's talk about the patent."

"Mr. Austin, take it easy. It's New Year's Eve tonight. I invited you here and delay your family reunion. I have to make up for it."

Thea got up and went into the kitchen.

She actually went to cook.

A table of dishes was quickly arranged, and hot dumplings were served.

"I casually stir-fried a few dishes. I hope you can enjoy the meal, Mr. Austin!"

"Is this also called casually stir-fried a few dishes?" Zachary smiled bitterly. This was

definitely quite a sumptuous New Year's Eve dinner.

"In the past, I would not celebrate on New Year's Eve, but today, with Mr. Austin here, I'd like to spend the New Year with you!" Thea opened a bottle of red wine with a smile and took out two glasses of wine.

She poured the wine into the cup and brought it to Zachary.

Zachary knew that Thea's actions were likely to be a means of negotiation.

In this way, they could get closer to each other and establish feelings for each other.

In this way, it would be easier for them to talk to each other.

Even though he knew that this might be a business method, he was still very pleased with it.

In the past three years, he had never enjoyed a New Year's Eve dinner.

Either he was ordered by Miranda to do this or that, or he was mocked by the Sykeses.

But now, those noisy voices were gone, and there was only the mature and charming Thea in front of him.

Thea was still wearing a suit dress, which was elegant and neat. The waist wrapped in the dress, the long legs in the stockings, and the smile swaying like starlight, were really easy to make people's hearts flutter.

"I'm very happy to know you, Mr. Austin. Let's have a toast first!" Thea was the first to toast.

"It will be the new year soon. I wish you Happy New Year, Mr. Austin!" She drank another glass of wine.

"I think we will definitely have a lot of cooperation in the future. The third glass, I wish us have happy cooperation in the future!"

Every glass of wine that Thea toasted made it impossible for Zachary to reject it.

On TV, the Festival party had begun.

The two lonely people seemed to have become a family and spent the New Year's Eve together.

Zachary and Thea drank some wine and ate some dumplings.

Thea's cooking skills were not bad. No matter the dishes or the dumplings, they all suited Zachary's tastes.

After finishing eating, Thea set up a fruit plate on the tea table, and then the two began to talk about the patent.

"I'll get straight to the point. The original price of this patent is 50 million dollars. After drinking the coffee made by Mr. Austin, I decided to add 10 million dollars, 60 million dollars."

This was Thea's assessment of this patent.

With her own business experience, she roughly estimated that if she got this patent, it would bring her a lot of profit.

60 million was a lot of money, but it was still worth it.

A cup of coffee made by Zachary turned the patent into a real object, which made her confirm the real value of the patent.

It was definitely not just good-looking but useless. On the contrary, it was what she needed urgently.

She couldn't hold on any longer in the face of her competitor's price war.

She was in urgent need of a high- end and novel coffee brand to keep the market balance and avoid falling into the whirlpool of the price war.

Zachary kept silent.

He didn't know much about the business world. As early as when he was in the Austin family, he was at a disadvantage.

He just liked to study and did researches.

Since he was not clear about the business world, it would be better to keep silent.

"Mr. Austin, are you not satisfied with this price? You can tell me the price you want!"

Zachary shook his head. "I don't have anything to say."

Thea's heart sank. "Is he really not satisfied?"

Zachary's words were too few, and there was no expression on his face. It was really hard for her to guess his emotions.

She gritted her teeth and said, "How about selling a cup of your coffee and you can get extra 5%?"

Zachary still kept silent.

Thea felt a chill in her heart.

Zachary looked ordinary, but in fact, he was so cruel. It was hard to tell from his appearance.

After doing so much for him, he was completely unmoved. Did he have to squeeze out the biggest value of this patent?

He was too cold-blooded.

Thea gritted her teeth and said, "Mr. Austin, I could have offered you a higher price, but now the situation is very special. I'm caught up in the price war with Coffee Art. Coffee Art has almost copied my product series and even copied the entire management pattern. Moreover, their store is located near my store, deliberately lowering the price and trying to crush me."

"To tell you the truth, Mr. Austin, the situation has lasted for a period of time. I am at a disadvantage now."

"If I still can't promote the new coffee item and improved the sales so as to get rid of the dilemma, I'll be completely ruined by the price war."

Thea sighed and said, "I can't afford to compete with Coffee Art. It has the powerful Austin family behind it!"

"The Austin family?" Zachary couldn't help but frown.

These words stabbed into his heart like a sharp knife.

"Yes, it's the Austin family, the most powerful family in Cloudmount City. They wanted to monopolize the coffee market here. I'm the thorn in their eyes."

"If I'm defeated, Cloudmount City's coffee market will be completely under their control."

"So, please be considerate of me, Mr. Austin. Even if I only give you 60 million dollars, my capital chain will face the risk of breaking. I am really like walking on a steel wire now, in a critical situation."

Thea's eyes turned red as she spoke.

In the company, she must be full of confidence. She must definitely hold on so as not to damage the morale of the employees.

But after all, she was a woman, and she would also be fragile.

Now, she nearly knelt down in front of Zachary.

However, when she thought of how ruthless Zachary was just now, she felt a burst of despair in her heart. It was useless to plead with a cold-blooded person no matter how hard she tried.

...

"This coffee patent is yours," Zachary suddenly said.

"What did you say?" Thea couldn't believe what she had just heard.

"I'll give you this coffee patent. You just need to give me this number!" Zachary opened his hand.

"Five hundred million?"

Thea was shocked. "You... you're too cruel, aren't you? Do you still have some human nature? Aren't you trying to add insult to injury?"

She was on the verge of a mental breakdown.

She didn't expect that she didn't be defeated by the fierce price battle with Coffee Art but by Zachary's ruthlessness.

If she took out 500 million dollars, most of her shops should be turned off.

"Who said I want five hundred million? I want five million!" Zachary sighed.

He needed these five million to make up for Blanch's company loss.

Blanch's advertising company had lost more than three million this year, and the fund was emptied.

If she didn't have the money to fill in, the company would be closed, and Blanch wouldn't be able to continue being the president.

Blanch was already under the pressure of marrying into a rich and powerful family. If the company was finished, Miranda would have more reasons to force Blanch to marry those rich and powerful men.

Blanch was his wife. He would definitely protect her. Not to mention that he was so obsessed with her, although he had never slept on her bed.

"Five million?" Thea was completely shocked. "Did I hear that correctly?"

Zachary picked up her hand and wrote down three words in her hand: five million dollars.

"Are you sure now?"

"You must have other requirements, don't you? Are you going to increase the share of each cup of coffee?" Thea still found it hard to believe.

"No, I don't want the share!"

"So you want the share of the company? Do you want to be the boss of Thea Coffee?"

"I don't want your shares. I only want Thea Coffee to live well."

Since Thea's opponent was the Austins, Zachary would definitely choose to stand on

Thea's side.

The Austin family wanted to monopolize the coffee market in Cloudmount City, but they could forget about it.

Zachary wanted to make the Austins furious but could do nothing about Thea Coffee.

It was true that the Austin family was rich and could afford a price war, but he could use the patent to support Thea Coffee and become the strongest shield for Thea Coffee.

The war with his own family, the Austin family, would begin from now on!

He wanted the Austins to know how powerful he was. He wanted the Austins to regret that they had driven him away.

"I offered you 60 million, but you only asked for five million, and there were no other conditions?" Thea was so shocked that her face turned pale, as if she were dreaming.

"That's right!" Zachary nodded.

"But why?" Thea couldn't understand.

"Didn't you say that if you took out 60 million dollars, the capital chain would be in danger of breaking? Then stay away from this danger. I want Thea Coffee to live well!"

Thea felt like slapping herself in the face when she heard those words.

Just now, she had been cursing Zachary in her heart that he was ruthless and greedy.

She didn't expect that, on the contrary, Zachary was simply a good person who didn't want anything in return.

"Mr. Austin, thank you so much!" Thea was very excited.

She felt that Thea Coffee was alive, completely alive.

She suddenly opened her arms and held Zachary in her arms.

She rushed forward like a hungry tiger pouncing on its prey, throwing Zachary onto the sofa.

The moving fragrance suddenly filled Zachary's nose.

Zachary smiled wryly. He couldn't stand the sudden enthusiasm of this beautiful president.

Thea hugged Zachary excitedly for a long time, but she still couldn't bear to let go.

Zachary was her savior. Without Zachary, she would really be defeated by the aggressive price war of the Austin family.

"Isn't it a little inappropriate for us to hug like this?" Zachary suddenly asked.

If it went on like this, he would really be unable to control himself.

After all, he was a man, and he had feelings.

Thea realized what was going on and immediately blushed. She stood up in a hurry.

With a cough, she raised her hand and tidied up her slightly messy hair. Soon, she returned to her usual dignified and familiar appearance.

But the blush on her cheeks, as well as her flowing eyes, were still rippling with all kinds of charm, which was extremely attractive.

"The snow outside is so heavy!" she said in embarrassment.

"That's right!" Zachary was also a little embarrassed.

"Mr. Austin, can I address you as 'Zachary'?" Thea asked, flicking her beautiful hair by her ear. Her movements were elegant and charming.

"This..."

"If it's too bold, forget it."

"Okay, I also feel uncomfortable that you call me Mr. Austin."

"Then I'll call you Zachary in the future?"

"It's ok. You can call me whatever you want."

"Then I'll call you Zachary?"

Zachary nodded.

"If that's the case, wouldn't it be too disrespectful to you?"

Zachary was now Thea's most precious treasure.

She put him in her mouth for fear of melting, and held it in her hand for fear of falling. She cherished him so much.

Zachary gave a wry smile. "You're being so polite, which makes me feel even more awkward."

"Then I might as well call you little brother!" Thea blurted out on the spur of the moment.

It was sure that she wanted to further build a closer relationship with Zachary.

If Zachary could create such a new coffee item, he could create another new coffee item.

If she had a close relationship with Zachary, the formula for the next coffee was definitely hers.

In that case, Zachary would become her cash cow.

"Well, you're being too rude, aren't you?" Zachary said helplessly.

"Then... then let's talk about it next time!"

Thea took out a card from her bag and placed it in front of Zachary with both hands. "Take this first!"

"This is..."

"This is the Supreme VIP Card of Thea Coffee. Seeing this card is equivalent to seeing me. Holding this card, you can not only use it for free in any store of Thea Coffee, but also get any help you need from it."

Thea's Supreme VIP Card was made for fun. There was only one card in the whole company.

She didn't expect that it would really come in handy now.

...

By the time Thea sent Zachary back home, it was already very late.

Zachary went home and looked upstairs. There was still light in the bedroom upstairs. It seemed that Blanch had returned, but she had not fallen asleep yet.

He wasn't allowed to go upstairs, so he hadn't seen what Blanch's bedroom looked like until today.

What's more, it was so late now. If he disturbed Blanch, he would probably be scolded by her again.

Zachary quietly lay down on the sofa below.

He just lay down.

Pa!

The lights in the living room were switched on.

"You still know to come back?" Blanch leaned on the railing upstairs and said angrily, "You are a good-for-nothing, but you don't allow others to say it? You ran away after they said a few words about you. You are powerful. aren't you? If you dare to leave without saying anything in the future, we will get divorced!"

Zachary looked up and saw a long leg exposed from Blanch's sleeping robe.

The leg was so slender and straight, and the lines were moving.

Under the bright light, it was even more dazzling and swaying.

Gulp!

He couldn't help but swallow hard.
