Chapter 46 - Chapter 20

As I reached the elevator I heard a bang. According to security it came from my office. I was taken to the safe house while everyone else had to wait till I was cleared. I refused to leave so they set up a tent and started to search the building floor by floor. Moments later we found out that it was some bounty hunters trying to get some crime boss out of prison. The one charge was wearing a metal helmet, a brown matted shirt and pants. His voice was distorted so no one could know the identity. Next to him were two women in skin tight uniforms made from soot material. It is a rough material with some durability. But it has been discontinued for the past hundred years. I had enough so I barged in. I made it through the door and saw the first one by the lobby. I simply waved my hand and watched as his armor and his weapons melted. He screamed in pain and I took a swing before I stole his comms. Then I used seismic shock to get a read of the building and walked up twenty seven flights of stairs. I pulled a few grenades off my security. I tied them to the elevator door and sent it up. Then I climbed two more and waited patiently till the blast rendered one of them unconscious. Then security barged in and started shooting up the place. I used my technopath abilities to turn off the security lens. Then I teleported the bombs to the nearest supernova and asked the man to squeeze the trigger. He did but nothing happened. He started yelling at the rest and I ordered the guards to stun them before sending them to a cell.

I walked out and ordered everyone to go back inside in a single file. I went back upstairs and sat in my seat in the Senate chambers till the security did a sweep of the property. The other senators took turns asking if I was alright. I simply smiled as I ordered the senators to resume the session. One of them insisted we take a break. I pursed my lips, "Evil never takes a break so we should double our efforts to restore peace and justice." We began the session. Collectively we talked about stopping the genocide and I suggested that we sent armed troops to evict them and place a blockage to stop more settlers. Those present concurred. I ordered every available warship, gunship and fighterships to head in their direction. As we evict them we will also send food, medical supplies and building materials. The blockade will stop the so-called chosen ones from barging in. The council clapped and one raised his glass applauding to the fact that we now have a Kaiser with a backbone. I smiled, "Praise about my spine later but right we need to collect the funds and make sure the Galaxy knows that the justice is being served so there will be no questions about it after." I made it clear to the media outlets. If they don't do honest reporting speak against the genocide then they will be the first to be arrested. I will make sure they are tried in court before the people enforcing genocide. Trusting the news is a dangerous thing. They can make us love the oppressor while making us hate the downtrodden and oppressed. The news switched sides immediately. An hour later we got everything ready and I was on board my beautiful Vigilance. I opened the starbridge and got to the other side. They used blockers so we couldn't come close to our destination. But I simply got as close as possible to the machinery and used fire manipulation and melted them so we could go forth. I used comms and gave them the go ahead. An hour later the fleet came through. It took five hours of repeated shooting before we conquered the planet.

I climbed down and gave the settlers one hour to evacuate. They refused but until further notice I ignored them. Food and other essentials came and the barricade that murder those who came for relief aid were either shot down or arrested. The locals were clothed and fed. Then unjustly imprisoned ones were released. After the one hour was up I ordered the soldiers to use the Fizz. This device looks like a cube that is six inches long. A closer examination shows that it is made up of a multitude of tiny cubes. Once activated they separate themselves and fly their own way in different directions. They hide in places and emit a sound wave which paralyzed the body. The settlers were paralyzed and hauled into transport ships and the locals were ordered to settle down again. I helped the medical team and helped the teams sort through the belongings before sending them to planet Maphisto. They claimed to fix an almost empty planet so let them repopulate and fix this one. I boarded Vigilance and made sure to follow them to make sure they were sent to the correct planet then. I placed warships to block more settlers from moving in. They were given the coordinates to their new home. They don't need to repopulate a planet by destroying innocent indigenous people.

Then I flew back to Hae to see a hysterical Sas waiting to receive me. Mira was there grinning ear to ear. I excused myself and decided to take a walk in the park. I miss the Everglades but the more I think about my behavior the more ashamed I was since I displayed a settler mindset. But I did hand over the land before leaving. I wish there was a chance to go there for a holiday. The courts took the longest to reform since some were doing the monster's bidding because they had taken family members hostage. Others due to blackmail from a series of unfortunate events. All of the evidence was hidden all over the Galaxy. Finding them all took more than a month then the reformation really started. Several kidnap and assassination attempts later we had law and order restored once more. There were those who were too blinded by greed but with perseverance we had them under control. I chose to step down and take off for Hypogean. The crowd outside was waving several banisters. All praising my hard work. Some wished me a second term in the office. I happily waved at the crowd and boarded the transport which took me to the space port. A battle scarred Vigilance was waiting. The ship had scratches everywhere. The paint was chipped and one of the tiny cannons were shot. I boarded the beauty and flew in the air. I managed to get to the troposphere when the comms crackled to show a smiling Sas. She instructed me to come back to Hypogean for a series of tests. She promised the engineers would fix Vigilance. I knew Sas enough to know when she was lying so I told her to speak the truth. I promised not to be offended. She said my ship is one of a kind so if I am seen roaming the galaxy they will know. So they will destroy the ship upon arrival. I will a new ship. I expressed my desire to have the Lexicon back and I sent her the design. She told me that Hypogeans are facing a situation so I should stay hidden for the time being. I chose a place no one in their right mind would think of looking. I went to the planet of my nightmares.

The starbridge opened and I didn't feel excited. I felt a sense of dread. The view didn't help my anxiety as I came closer to my destination. The portal opened and I started hyperventilating. As I flew closer to Anhedonia my heart started beating in my ears. The moment I landed I passed out. I woke up and saw my surroundings and screamed in terror. The black lake in front of me appears to be boiling. The onboard computer mentioned the outside temperature was a cool 5 degrees. There is a possibility of rain or hail. Spikes poked out of the waters. Thin glowing lines on them convinced me to switch off the lights. I watched a Fyr rise up and water rose as though it was heralding some sort of doom. The beast took off and water came down hard. The pressure snapped several trees into pieces. I had no choice but to abandon ship and run. The water followed close behind as though it wasn't going back to it home without me. I dove into the earth and stayed till the coast was clear. I rose out of the earth elsewhere and saw the place was dimly lit by the sun. Tiny plants cover the rich dirt. A few paces away I saw rows and rows of plants. It felt unsafe but I kept going. These plants had long thin stalks with a weird flower balanced on top. The maroon colored flowers resembled a flat rock arranged tightly. As I walked by the thin leaves started waving lazily without a hint of a breeze. It was though they were saying goodbye. As I kept going I saw the same plant but moving with thorns had enveloped it. The buds pulsated as though they were breathing. Then it happened at once the flowers opened and bright red pollen shot out covering the air like mist. I held my breath as I ran to find clear air. The thorny vines flew away with the blast.

I reached a huge tree whose trunk was wider than Strata. It had vines sliding around as though it was a parasite trying to strangle the plant to death. I sat down to catch my breath and the air started to smell sweet. I turned to see the vines had sprouted pods which bloomed and fragrant flowers were visible. White petals with pale purple streaked here and there. There were five rows of petals in each flower. The center was pale yellow flat with thin white hair. In the middle was dark orange stigma with sharp needles around them. Without warning they shot out as though they were fire from a cannon. I ducked and jumped till I was away from them. I got up and walked towards the water. I cupped both hands and collected the crystal clear water and started drinking. After I was done I heard a growl. There was a beast staring at me with loathing. It took a breath and growled. It had eight legs. Two pairs of red eyes on either side of its head. A pair of gills and sharp teeth that protruded even though its lips were shut. I quietly took a few steps to the side. I guess I was trespassing. I ran till I saw the mountains. I heard a roar and saw it was chasing me. The ground shook and bumps grew on the dirt. With a bang they burst open and hot lava shot out. I used black fire shield to defend myself. The monster was hit with it too and it went back to the safety of its home. I stayed till the lava stopped. Then I followed the trail lead by the monster. I found it writhing in pain. I used mud to heal it and it made a sound similar to moaning. I stroked his back before I went on. I reached the mountains and found berries. I reached out but I remembered that berries can be edible or poisonous. The trick was to take one and test it. I summoned some salty water and suspended it in the air and dropped a berry into it. Then I boiled it to see the reaction. The berry leached out its color and after a full minute of boiling the water didn't change color. I chucked the water and ate the berries. Then I searched for a cave large enough to fit me but small enough to save me from predators.
