Darcy explained with frustration, "I'm merely a scent designer hired by the Yancey family, Jeanette. Do you actually think I can stop Shawn? You should be well aware of that when I didn't even dare to interfere with Leo's marriage."
"Darcy, you should be better than this. If you continue to do nothing, I won't work with you anymore. I don't keep incapable people by my side. Do you understand?" Jeanette obviously did not believe Darcy to be an inept person.
Upon hearing that, Darcy chuckled and revealed her true colors. "I can't hide anything from you, Jeanette. All right, I believe Leo's marriage is a good thing because now he has a weak spot. I can start with his wife and kids, which would be a much easier task compared to when he was single."
"You want me to apply that logic to Shawn? Is it worth it to curry favor with her, though? She's just another daughter from a rich family." Jeanette understood her point in an instant.
