Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Determined to Watch Every Silver Wolf Video

"Tap, tap, tap..."

Kafka walked down the connecting corridor of the space station in her high heels.

At a glance, the space station was vast and magnificent, imposing in its grandeur.

Yet, the camera didn't linger deliberately—not even a single extra second was spent on scenic close-ups.

On both sides of the hallway, holographic portraits were displayed.

Every time Kafka passed one, subtitles would appear with relevant information about the figure.

Finally, Kafka paused briefly in front of a portrait labeled "Screwllum."

"Hey, Silver Wolf, it's Screwllum—your old rival!"

"Ugh, I told you, I didn't know it was him back then..."

"That battle was what made Elio take notice of you—someone in the universe actually managed to crack Screwllum's programs!"

"First Screwllum, then Herta..."

"There's probably no one else in the universe who's managed to provoke two geniuses in such a short time. Truly, fate works in mysterious ways."

"Sigh... I guess I'm the real 'Slave of Fate' here."

After this seemingly cryptic exchange, Kafka continued forward, arriving at a new scene.

Spotting a group of unaware Voidrangers ahead, she curled her lips slightly.

The next moment, a violet blade pierced straight through a Ravager's chest.

The remaining Antimatter Legion units immediately lunged at Kafka.

Unhurried, Kafka elegantly pulled the trigger as the camera circled around her in a smooth rotation.

"Boom!"

With a soft sigh from Kafka, all the Voidrangers exploded simultaneously, vanishing into thin air.

She took out a compact mirror, examining her reflection.

Just then, a surviving Ravager staggered to its feet and charged at her.

However—

In the next instant, its body dissolved into colorful particles, disappearing behind Kafka.

"Cleaning up after others isn't part of my job."

A petite girl with a strong cyberpunk aesthetic had appeared in the room at some point.

She retracted the virtual keyboard she had been typing on. "Right, Kafka?"

With that, she blew an enormous pink bubble with her gum.

Kafka strolled over to Silver Wolf as if the near-death experience moments ago meant nothing.

"Alright, alright. Where'd you send it, Silver Wolf?"

"Just a random coordinate—nothing special. You worried about where that Voidranger went?"

"Not at all! It's just that no matter how many times I see it, your methods never fail to amaze me."

"Just tweaking reality's data—no big deal!" Silver Wolf crossed her arms, as if it were the most trivial thing in the world.

"What were you looking at earlier? Seemed pretty interesting—let me see."

"Herta's toys—the space station's 'Curio' catalog. There's a lot of fun stuff in there."

After this brief exchange,

their conversation shifted to the most crucial piece of information.

"So the 'Stellaron' is there?" As Kafka spoke, the subtitles highlighted the term with an annotation: [Cancer of All Worlds.]

"It'll tell us where the Stellaron is."

The camera then deliberately focused on Silver Wolf, giving her a full-body close-up.

[Silver Wolf? Kafka? How am I supposed to choose?!]

[Holy crap, why are they all so ridiculously good-looking?! What do I do? I love them both!]

[Kafka's the dommy mommy, Silver Wolf's the bratty gamer girl, but—!!! Why does Silver Wolf's outfit hit me so hard?! Damn it, I can't stop staring at her fishnets!]

[Do you people even pay attention to the plot? The Stellaron just got mentioned!]

[Stellaron? What's that?]

['Cancer of All Worlds'—if something's being called a 'cancer,' you know it's bad news. Think about it!]

[Cancer? Like a nuke or something?]

[Kafka and Silver Wolf are clearly the bad guys here—are they gonna blow up the space station?!]

[Kinda hyped to see where this goes.]

[At least the video's annotations are clear. This show isn't something you can watch with your brain turned off. Even with all the explanations, some parts are still confusing.]

[It's a pilot episode—it's supposed to set up mysteries. Better than Kafka suddenly walking up to a broadcast and yelling, 'The three-year deadline is up!' I'd rather crash into a wall.]

[I swear—from now on, I'm watching every Silver Wolf video!]

[+1.]

[+1.]

[+1.]

[...]

[Silver Wolf! I love her so much! I'm the cat in the middle swearing—I'm gonna make fan content for her!]

[If you follow me now, you're an OG fan!]

[Great. Another one's gone insane.]

Kafka and Silver Wolf continued forward, though the perspective gradually shifted toward Silver Wolf.

Arriving at a bulkhead, Silver Wolf tapped on the virtual keyboard on her left arm.

"The core area of the space station is up ahead. There'll be a lot of Antimatter Legion Voidrangers there!"

With a "clunk," the door slid open after Silver Wolf hacked it.

Kafka responded softly, "Good."

It felt like a prelude to an intense battle.

The two advanced toward their destination.

The screen faded to black, then brightened again—a transition.

Now, Silver Wolf and Kafka stood before another bulkhead.

Suddenly—

"Stop."

Kafka raised a hand, halting Silver Wolf.

Her gaze sharpened as she scanned ahead. "There's something up front."

The next moment, multiple Voidrangers surrounded them, cutting off all escape routes.

"Looks like we're the ones getting ambushed." Silver Wolf chewed her gum, eyes flicking around.

Kafka smiled calmly. "Too bad for them—they're the ones trapped with us."

[SO COOL!]

[Kafka supremacy!]

[Reminds me of that line—'You're the ones surrounded by the two of us!']

Kafka drew her twin pistols and began firing.

Meanwhile, Silver Wolf cracked her knuckles with a "click,"

summoning a virtual keyboard in front of her.

The perspective switched to Silver Wolf's first-person view.

To her, the Voidrangers were nothing more than playthings—

this was just a game. Her fingers flew across the keys at blinding speed.

Finally, she conjured a massive pixelated greatsword out of thin air, obliterating the Voidrangers in one strike.

As for Kafka—

She blew lightly on the smoking barrels of her guns, signaling the effortless end of her battle.

[Such creative fight choreography!]

[Kafka's movements are as elegant as ever.]

[Silver Wolf's fighting style is so unique—how'd they even come up with this?]

[Silver Wolf's character is instantly iconic—she's literally a gamer girl.]

[For this child's future, I've decided to take her home and give her some… electrotherapy courtesy of Professor Yang.]

[Pfft! I'll just take her to my place and reform her with love.]

[Hahaha! Kids make choices—real men take everything!]

——

After the battle, Kafka and Silver Wolf entered a surveillance room.

Kafka rested a hand on her hip. "Not a soul in sight. The evacuation was thorough. Did Herta give the order herself?"

Silver Wolf scrolled through data on her arm terminal. "Judging by the access logs, that woman hasn't logged in here for over half a year. The evacuation was directed by the acting station leader—someone named Asta."

"Never heard of her... Ah, now I remember—Elio did say we wouldn't run into Herta. Guess she really isn't here."

Kafka's eyes swept across the room as she asked the million-dollar question:

"So where is the Stellaron?"

Abruptly, the screen cut to black—ending without warning.

[Huh?]

[??]

[Bro, you can't just cliffhanger us like this!]

[Oi! What the hell?! It's over already?!]

[Where's the usual 'high-energy progress bar' guy when you need him?! Where?! WHERE?!]

[My takeout hasn't even arrived yet—what am I supposed to munch on now?!]

Just then—

Every viewer received another notification.

[The creator you follow, 'miHoYo Film & Television Development Co.,' has posted a new update.]

"What?! The release date for the main series?!"
