Gray stared at her for another moment. He couldn't explain it, but there was something about the way she answered that made his chest feel heavy.
Usually, Lily would be the first one to argue over where they were going. If Eli chose the arcade, she would probably suggest going to the mall first, or insist that they watch a movie afterward.
After all, she always had an opinion about everything.
But now...
"Alright," Gray said eventually, knowing that he can't do anything about her answer. He just forced a smile on his lips and nodded, "Then we'll go to the arcade."
"Really? We can go now?" Eli immediately brightened.
"Not immediately." Gray laughed. "You haven't even showered yet!"
"But Brother Gray..." Eli's expression instantly dropped.
"Nope. I know that face." Gray pointed at him as his eyes squinted playfully. "Go get ready properly. We'll leave once both of you are done."
"Okay! Eli quickly stood up and hurried toward the hallway.
"Don't run!"
"I won't!"
