Chapter 33 - Chapter 33

Damon's POV

"I freaking hate her!" I yelled on the phone.

I was on call with Adrian. So much was going through my mind, seeing Dathan and Emily too. I thought that chapter was closed. I stormed out in anger and irritation. The day turned out to be more than I ever thought it would be.

 "Who?" He asked.

 "Who else?" I bellowed. "Daisy!"

"Why would she do something like that though?" Adrian asked, chewing whatever.

"You annoy me sometimes, Man. We are discussing something so important and you still have an appetite for whatever it is you are eating?" I asked him in disgust.

"I didn't realise it was that serious." He said, swallowing, almost choking.

"Daisy is threatening to cut off our supply to the United Kingdom, Adrian, they buy over thirty percent of our oil. We have estates there! And you do think that's not serious?" I asked, fuming.

"What exact reason did she give? This still feels too silly to me." Adrian replied.

"She said she didn't like my assistant." I said under my breath, cursing Daisy.

"Emily? Your wife?" Adrian asked, shocked.

 "Yes!" I replied.

"Have you found out if she really has other options, or she's just trying to make you fret? Besides, why does she want Emily out?" Adrian asked.

"The bloody woman has too much history with this family." I muttered.

"Rumour has it your father used to…" Adrian started, but I was in no mood to hear anymore of my father's travesties.

"They are true." I cut in.

I emptied all the content of the whiskey bottle that'd kept me company since we got back from the office. I couldn't just be there anymore.

"You think Daisy is as important as she claims?" Adrian asked me

"When I think of it, I actually do not know for certain, but I don't want to find out the hard way." I said.

I'd torn my clothes off, but I still had my shoes on. I must've looked really silly, as silly as the thoughts that were beginning to cross my mind.

"So relate this story to the farm girl you were talking about earlier." Adrian said.

"I thought of a better alternative, one Emily would like." I started. "They were friends, from, from school, and she's visited the palace a couple of times. She talks smart, and I think she'd be just fit." I said.

"Why are we acting like there isn't a host of qualified graduates from Ivy league colleges ready to scramble for any position in your empire? Why a farm girl?" He asked.

"She's not that. She just happened to work on the farm, the same farm that produces most of the foods you eat, you know?!" I yelled at him, belittling Zyna was way off.

"Which is why you should see this as me protecting my interests. Farm girl stays, the farm does well, I have more to eat." He said, and took a loud bite of what I'd guess to be an apple.

"You're so disgusting man." I said, pissed.

He laughed for minutes unending, and struggled to gather his breath.

"You said you already called the farm?" He asked again.

"What part of that didn't you hear the first time?" I shit at him.

"Is she on her way to you then?" Adrian asked.

"I want to tell Emily first. But she won't speak to me." I replied to him. After I said what I said, was when I realised that it would be a stupid thing to tell Adrian about my issues.

He's a young, spoiled alpha, who's been with the choicest of models in the States. Changes them like he pleases. He could never see reason in keeping one woman. He's a nice guy, nice and smooth, but also philandering.

We joke about it sometimes, and he says he hopes Moon Goddess signed him up for the bigamist package, cause one woman wouldn't be enough, ever.

"Why is that? She looked so sweet." He said. I do not know if I was the irate one, or he was just saying all the wrong things.

"What has her looks got to do with anything? Matter of fact, forget I called. It was nice chatting with you. I'll call you later today." I said in one breath, so I didn't give him the chance to apologize and think of extending the call which I was about to cut off. My patience had worn thin.

"Don't be like that man." Adrian patronised. "You know I just say what's on my mind, however it comes." He added. "What are you gonna do now?"

"Uhm, I'll call you back." I said to him and cut off the call.

I could sense that I'd gotten company, I wasn't alone anymore.

"Who's there?" I asked, at the top of my voice.

"Who else would it be? I'm sorry, are you expecting someone?" Dathan's voice was laced with so many emotions, sarcasm included.

We soon stood face to face, well, I am a bit taller, but we can settle for that.

"What's your game?" He asked me.

"I thought you wanted to stay out of my every business?" I asked him, paraphrasing his words to him.

"I did say that, and I still share those sentiments, but I smell something very foul." He smiled.

"Then I suggest you look elsewhere. This is the Alpha's suite, cleaned and maintained by a team of eight, on the eleventh hour, every single day!" I said. "Not some kid's bedroom with an adult in it." I looked him in his eyes for maximum damage.

"I hate you." His screams were followed by quick punches to my head, faster than I could ever see.

"Get out!" I screamed, painfully holding myself back from lashing out.

I can't control my wolf yet. No one knows, and I'd love it to stay that way.

"Or what?!" He wriggled his hands free from my grasp and went straight to my chest.

That was about all my wolf could take.

Against my wishes, I felt an adrenaline surge, followed by lengthening of my canines. Blood trickled down the sides of my mouth to my chest. I was slowly losing the Damon I could control.

For a second, I saw fear flash in Dathan's eyes, but it was gone as fast as it came, replaced by the thick black lenses of an angry wolf.

Emily was right after all. He had his wolf.

With no one else around, we charged at each other mercilessly, I surrendered myself to wrath, stopping only when I'd been bathed by Dathan's blood. Only then, did my wolf break him free.

The room was a mess, and so was Dathan, and I.

I dragged my wounded limb, right leg, to pick my phone up from where it'd been tossed in the scuffle.

"Nala, come up." I managed to croak, and cut immediately. One more thing to do.

"Zyna, come over. My room, now." I texted, before everything went white, then black!
