Kael's consciousness drifted in and out like a small boat lost in stormy waves.
His vision remained dark, and the voices around him blurred into a mixture of yelling, sighing, and distant crying.
"…Where… am I…?" Kael whispered weakly, blinking as the world slowly came back into focus.
The ceiling was strange. Too white.. Too… spinning.
Before he could process anything, something warm moved close—very close.
Elysia leaned down until her face hovered just inches from his.
"You. Explain. NOW."
Her voice held so much pressure that Kael genuinely thought gravity increased.
"E-Explain… what?" he croaked.
Her eyes burned gold, fiery and terrifying.
"WHY DID YOU COME IN HERE!?"
Her shout shook his soul. Kael flinched.
Behind her, Cecelia trembled under her blanket.
"E-Elysia… don't scare him…" she whispered timidly.
Elysia didn't even bother looking back.
"Oh, shut up."
Cecelia shrunk like a frightened rabbit.
