It was already eight in the morning when Roy received the news about Emma's disappearance.
Sarah discovered Emma was missing when she went to wake her up. At first, she thought Emma had just woken up early, but after not finding her anywhere in the house, she called Roy.
Roy had been dealing with the flood all night and had only been asleep for a few hours when he was woken up by the news. He was furious.
This out-of-town group was incredibly rude!
"Roy, what happened?"
Roy was so angry that his movements were a bit loud, which woke Heather and Penny up.
"Something happened at my place, and I need to go back right away."
Hearing this, Heather and Penny rubbed their eyes and sat up.
"What is it? Do you need our help?"
"You guys can't help. Just go back to sleep!"
Roy quickly got dressed, then took out his phone and made a call.
"Hey, Mr. Allin, I need to know the location of the Witch Union!"
Roy jumped right into the question like a machine gun, leaving Gerald a bit confused.
"Hold on! Mr. Black, why do you suddenly want to know the location of the Witch Union?"
Roy took a deep breath and answered Gerald with an angry tone.
"The Witch Union kidnapped my cousin!"
Gerald could feel Roy's anger even through the phone.
"Mr. Black, could it be that your cousin is a newly awakened witch?"
"Yes, Emma did just awaken, but she's only eight years old! The Witch Union's actions are nothing short of child abduction! Alright, stop asking so many questions and just tell me the Witch Union's address!"
Gerald on the other end of the phone fell silent. The power of the Witch Union was quite different from that of Amalgamated.
To put it bluntly, Amalgamated only rose to prominence with the support of the military during World War II, while the Witch Union was established before America was even founded.
That's right, the Salem Witch Trials happened in 1692, and the Witch Union was formed in the following years, at the end of the 17th century.
America issued the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
Who knows, there might even be some old-timers in the Witch Union still collecting social security benefits since the country's founding!
So, Gerald dared to go toe-to-toe with Amalgamated, but he really didn't dare to mess with the Witch Union.
The federal government basically turned a blind eye to the Witch Union as long as they didn't cause trouble.
The only organization that could directly confront the Witch Union was probably the Church, but the Church's power had also weakened significantly in recent years. Unless they directly used an Angel Host to deal with the Witch Union, it was hard to say what the outcome would be.
"Uh, Mr. Black, maybe it's not necessarily a bad thing that your cousin joined the Witch Union?"
"Would you be willing to let your daughter join the Witch Union?"
Of course not! Forget that Gerald didn't have a daughter, even if he did, he definitely wouldn't hand her over to some lousy union.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Black, but I probably can't help you with the Witch Union matter."
Seeing that Gerald was unwilling to reveal information about the Witch Union, Roy didn't blame him. After all, he was just an ordinary person, while the Witch Union was a supernatural organization.
"Mr. Allin, I understand your choice, so I won't blame you. But please also understand me. Emma's mother passed away a long time ago, and her father is currently in a vegetative state. So, I am Emma's family. Do you understand what I mean?"
Roy issued a "family man" warning, which is classic political correctness in America.
After all, the westward expansion of America was achieved by families driving wagon trains, although countless Native Americans were left scratching their heads in the process.
Gerald understood Roy's meaning: he would stop at nothing to bring Emma back.
In response, Gerald, as a federal employee, could only choose to remain silent.
After making his statement, Roy hung up the phone and dialed another number.
"Jennifer, Emma was kidnapped by people from the Witch Union last night. I'm going to Boston to find the Witch Union. Can you call in sick for me?"
Hearing this, Jennifer on the other end of the phone was very surprised.
"Emma was kidnapped? When did this happen?"
"It should have been just a few hours ago, while my parents were still asleep."
"So, that means Emma has already been gone for several hours?"
"I think so."
Jennifer on the other end of the phone frowned and pondered for a while before continuing to speak.
"Roy, do you want me to go to Boston with you?"
"If you leave, what about everyone else?"
These were troubled times, and with Jennifer in Waterfall Town, Roy could at least feel a bit more at ease.
Jennifer understood Roy's meaning.
"Okay, I understand. I'll protect everyone else and let you go to Boston with peace of mind."
The "everyone else" here naturally included not only Niddy and her family, but also Roy's family, Heather and Penny, Elrissa, and the Parker family.
The responsibility was still quite heavy.
However, Jennifer had just completed the bloodline fusion ritual and was currently brimming with confidence.
"Keep an eye out for Amalgamated's people! I'm worried they might cause trouble while I'm gone."
"I will!"
After hanging up the phone, Roy was about to put his phone away when he suddenly noticed that during the call, his phone had received a text message from an unknown number.
The text message contained a Boston address and also mentioned that the Witch Union had a rival organization, which was Voodoo.
This should have been sent by Gerald using a new number. The guy was quite loyal, and Roy hadn't helped him screw over Amalgamated for nothing.
After getting ready, Roy drove his Chevrolet Camaro to Austin, preparing to take a flight to Boston.
After all, Boston was nearly two thousand miles away from Waterfall Town, and driving there alone would be really exhausting and slow.
What if the car broke down on the way, or if he encountered any incidents? That would be another problem.
Fortunately, airplanes in America were still relatively safe at this time, unlike twenty years later when accidents seemed to happen all the time.
"Mr. Black?"
Roy had just found his seat on the plane when he suddenly heard a familiar voice. Turning his head, he saw that it was Claire Sheffield, the beautiful psychologist who had previously made an appointment for Emma.
"Dr. Sheffield, I didn't expect to see you here!"
Roy was quite surprised. He really hadn't expected such a coincidence, and Claire just happened to be sitting next to him.
Claire also thought it was too coincidental, so she winked at Roy and made a joke.
"Mr. Black, you wouldn't happen to be deliberately taking the same flight as me, would you?"
"Of course not! I have some urgent business to attend to in Boston. Dr. Sheffield, may I ask what brings you to the East Coast?"
"My college mentor asked me to go to Boston to attend a psychology academic conference in his place. Oh, by the way, how is Emma doing?"
Claire suddenly mentioned Emma, and Roy couldn't help but smile wryly.
"After going back that day, I talked to Emma, and her mood has improved recently."
Hearing this, Claire was quite happy.
"I still think it's necessary to help Emma with her psychological issues. She thinks about things much more than children her age, and that's not healthy for her development."
Roy nodded. Emma did like to keep things to herself, and she wouldn't take the initiative to talk about them unless someone asked.
"Dr. Sheffield, I've already discussed it with my parents, and we'll be bringing Emma to your clinic for psychological counseling every weekend, starting with a course of twelve sessions."
Roy didn't think it would take him too long to bring Emma back, so he directly scheduled Emma's appointments for the weekends.
"Is that so? I'll arrange the time."
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard..."
At this moment, the announcement inside the plane sounded, declaring that the plane was about to take off. Roy and Claire quickly fastened their seatbelts.
After a slight bump, the plane smoothly soared into the sky.
Roy had originally thought this trip would be quite boring, but he hadn't expected to run into Claire, this beautiful psychologist.
Especially since Claire was also a fighting fan, she became particularly excited when talking about boxing.
"You said you're going to participate in the Olympics this summer? Cool!"
"No, I'm just preparing to participate in the World Qualification Tournament for the Olympics with encouragement from my coach. I haven't gotten the Olympic ticket yet."
Roy was being modest, but Claire's big eyes blinked as she looked at him, her gaze filled with admiration.
"I think you'll definitely be able to get an Olympic ticket. I'll go to Sydney to support you in person then!"
The two chatted more and more happily, and most of the journey was spent talking.
Suddenly, the plane shook violently, startling all the passengers. However, the flight attendants quickly reassured the passengers.
They stated that it was just a minor issue caused by some air turbulence.
However, soon passengers noticed that one of the plane's engines was smoking, which terrified all the passengers.
The captain announced an emergency situation, instructing everyone to fasten their seatbelts, put on their oxygen masks, and prepare for an emergency landing.
Roy cursed his bad luck in his heart. He hadn't expected to hit the jackpot on his first flight in this world. Was this good luck or bad luck?
Subsequently, the smoking engine directly exploded, which completely caused the plane to lose balance and begin to fall towards the ground.
At this time, the plane had already reached the East Coast. If it could glide to a soft landing on the sea, the people on board might still survive.
However, the engine explosion had severely damaged one of the wings, and the plane was finding it difficult to maintain a glide. Continuing like this, it could only make a hard landing on the ground.
In that case, Roy was probably the only one on the entire plane who could survive.
The passengers on the plane all realized this, and despair appeared on everyone's faces. Some were holding onto their last hope and praying to God.
Unfortunately, Elizabeth had said that God hadn't appeared in a long time, and even the four archangels hadn't seen the old man for a long time. How could he possibly hear the prayers of a few mortals?
Claire's face was also full of despair. Realizing that her life was about to end, she suddenly hugged Roy and fiercely kissed him on the lips.
"Dr. Sheffield?"
"Roy, call me Claire! I've been a good girl since I was little, studying and growing up under my parents' expectations, becoming a Doctor of Psychology. In the eyes of others, I've always suppressed my true thoughts, living like a princess in a cage, which is why I like watching fighting matches to release my stress! Before I die, I want to indulge myself a little, is that okay?"
Claire looked at Roy with burning eyes, a pleading look in her eyes.
Roy put the oxygen mask back on Claire's face.
"You won't die. Don't give up hope!"
As he spoke, Roy himself unfastened his seatbelt.
Claire looked at Roy's actions in confusion.
"Roy, what are you going to do?"
Roy didn't directly answer Claire's question, but instead smiled and asked her.
"Claire, if you can survive this accident, would you go on a date with me?"
Claire smiled and then nodded heavily.
After receiving Claire's promise, Roy stood up and walked towards the plane's boarding door.
The violently shaking plane made Roy's movements very difficult, but fortunately, Roy had excellent balance.
Near the boarding door was the flight attendants' rest area. They looked at Roy in surprise.
"Sir, please quickly return to your seat and fasten your seatbelt. The plane is about to make an emergency landing!"
"I'm going to open the boarding door and go out. Tell me how to open it!"
The flight attendants thought Roy was crazy. Waiting for death to arrive little by little was indeed very tormenting, and many people in the cabin had gone mad out of despair.
This was probably the special thing about plane accidents.
Although the accident rate for airplanes was low, the fatality rate for accidents was very high.
Moreover, when a car has an accident, it's just one impact, and the people in the car might not even realize what happened before it's over.
But when a plane has an accident, it takes several minutes to fall from cruising altitude to the ground, and this time is simply the most terrifying torment.
It's no less than the last moments of a death row inmate waiting for their execution.
"Sir, please go back to your seat. Parachuting is useless!"
The flight attendants thought Roy was crazy and wanted to parachute.
Civilian airliners indeed don't have parachutes. Jumping out of a flying airliner would only result in being sucked into the plane's engines.
Seeing that the flight attendants wouldn't help, Roy could only choose to open the door himself, but his way of opening it would be rather forceful.
And so, under the shocked gaze of the flight attendants, Roy forcibly opened the boarding door.
You must know that due to the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the plane, opening the boarding door now might require several tons of force.
As soon as the boarding door opened, under the effect of atmospheric pressure, Roy was instantly sucked out of the plane.
In the instant he was sucked out, Roy also conveniently pulled the boarding door shut. Atmospheric pressure would automatically seal the door.
Subsequently, Roy quickly entered his demon form, flapping the huge bat wings on his back to maintain his balance.
This scene, due to the chaos caused by the change in air pressure inside the plane, was hardly noticed by anyone except Claire, who had been watching Roy the whole time.
Afterward, Roy quickly flew under the plane to slow down its descent.
The plane Roy was on was a medium-sized passenger plane for domestic routes. Its empty weight was about fifty to sixty tons, and it weighed over a hundred tons when fully loaded.
Even if Roy temporarily added 20 points to his strength in demon form, reaching a strength value of 72, he still couldn't lift the plane in the air.
Unless Roy immediately changed his name to Clark Kent.
What Roy needed to do was to make the plane glide as far as possible to a soft landing on the sea.
