While things were changing at the old church, Roy had just entered Silent Hill with Elise and Zoe not long before.
"This world is full of sin and blasphemy!"
Elise exclaimed this as soon as she stepped into this world, which likely meant her eyes had seen something again.
To be honest, Roy really wanted Elise's eyes. Eyes that could see the past and the future were much more powerful than Michael's Eye of Judgment.
Unfortunately, that was probably impossible.
But even if Roy didn't have them himself, he could still ask Elise for help; he had that much pull.
"Ms. Elise, could you help me see where my two friends are?"
"Thou describe their appearances and names."
Roy described Madison and Maria's looks and figures in detail, practically rattling off all their body measurements, which made Zoe next to him look a bit strange.
Those figures were real data that Roy had measured firsthand when fighting the witches of the Revelation Society, completely accurate.
Elise's eyes, covered by the black cloth, glowed again, but this time the white-clad nun frowned, seeming to have some difficulty.
"Mr. Black, the thick fog here carries the power of the King of Wrath, severely hindering my ability. I can only roughly see the direction of the people thou art looking for; I cannot see clearly otherwise."
Elise pointed in a direction. Roy took a look and committed it to memory.
"Thank you, Ms. Elise! Do you have any plans next?"
"Just now, I vaguely sensed the anchor point of the King of Wrath in this world in that direction, so I must go there and remove it."
Elise pointed in a different direction, exactly opposite to the one she had just indicated for Roy.
"Alright then! Ms. Elise, I need to go rescue my friends first, and then I'll come over to help you. I hope by the time I've saved my friends, your fight will be over."
That was, of course, the ideal scenario. Elise nodded.
However, Elise hadn't expected Roy's help in the first place. After all, fighting demons wasn't humanity's job, but the angels'.
"Thank thee for thy blessing, Mr. Black. Then, let us part ways here."
Elise turned and walked towards the direction of the old church. That's when Roy suddenly remembered something.
"Ms. Elise, wait a moment!"
Elise stopped and turned back to look at Roy.
"Mr. Black, is there something else?"
"Ms. Elise, a friend of mine might have been kidnapped by the cult. Her name is Carrie. If you see her, could you please save her?"
Elise nodded without refusing.
"If I encounter her, I will rescue her."
With that said, Elise continued walking towards the old church. Only after her figure completely disappeared into the thick fog did Zoe start speaking.
"Phew! Roy, I was so nervous just now! That Uriel's human host had such strong presence; I was really scared she'd grab me and burn me!"
Roy patted Zoe's little head.
"Angels are reasonable, just like people. The two angels I've met were both quite nice. Besides, burning witches is something the Church does; it has nothing to do with Heaven. Angels' main job is to deal with otherworldly creatures."
Otherworldly creatures here mainly referred to demons, but occasionally included creatures from other worlds as well.
As for judging sinners, that was Michael's personal duty, not Uriel's.
That's why Elise didn't go around killing sinners after coming to the human world. Her biggest action was clearing out the Beelzebub cult hidden within the Los Angeles Police Department, and she even cooperated with the FEA.
Each of the Four Archangels had responsibilities bestowed by God, which were essentially their main duties. Michael was the judge of sin, Uriel guarded Hell, Gabriel was God's messenger, and Raphael was the healer of life.
Apart from that, fighting demons was a duty shared by all angels.
"Alright, Zoe, let's go."
Roy held Zoe's hand and walked in the direction Elise had pointed earlier.
While the Normal World of Silent Hill was much safer than the Otherworld, it didn't mean there were no monsters at all.
As Roy and Zoe walked down the street, they occasionally encountered some Straightjackets.
Roy left these low-level monsters for Zoe to handle, which was also a way to train the little witch, otherwise, her combat experience was far too lacking.
Within the Revelation Society, Zoe had the least combat experience, perhaps even less than the little girl Emma.
Because Elise had pointed to a general area, Roy needed to use the Hound Ring in conjunction to pinpoint Madison and Maria's location.
Every so often, Roy would activate the Hound Ring's effect, but it didn't react at all initially. After walking several kilometers, it finally started emitting a green light.
The ghostly figures of two hellhounds led Roy and Zoe to the entrance of a hospital.
Silent Hill was just a small town with tens of thousands of residents, so there was only one public hospital in the entire city, the one in front of Roy now.
If Roy remembered correctly, Alessa, one of Silent Hill's strongest bosses, was located underground in Silent Hill Hospital, in an area that was a constant Otherworld.
Currently, it seemed there were two places in Silent Hill unaffected by the shift between the Normal World and the Otherworld.
The old church area was a constant Normal World, while the hospital's underground was a constant Otherworld.
How did Madison and Maria end up here?
Zoe noticed Roy's expression didn't look good and was a bit puzzled.
"Roy, is there something wrong with this place?"
"It's very dangerous inside! Listen, Zoe, you must stick close to me later. Don't wander off at all."
Seeing Roy's serious expression, Zoe nodded repeatedly.
Just then, Roy heard some footsteps and immediately pulled Zoe to hide in a corner.
Only four or five people in protective suits came out of the hospital, looked around, and then walked away into the distance.
"Let's go, we're going in!"
After entering the hospital lobby, Roy saw an elevator door that had been pried open. The elevator inside had already gone down; only a seemingly bottomless elevator shaft was visible.
"Did Madison and Maria already go down?"
Looking at the dark elevator shaft, Zoe wasn't sure.
"I think they probably went down."
The above-ground part of Silent Hill Hospital only had four floors. Logically, the underground section shouldn't be too extensive, but even looking down with Dark Vision in his Ghost Wolf Form, Roy couldn't see the bottom immediately.
This indicated that the hospital's underground was deeper than Roy had imagined, likely modified by Alessa's power.
Roy pressed the elevator button but found there was no response.
No choice then, they'd just have to jump down.
"Zoe, I'll carry you on my back. Remember to hold on tight!"
"Okay!"
Roy put Zoe on his back and used a bit of force to pry the elevator door open wider, otherwise, he couldn't squeeze in while carrying someone.
If it were just Roy alone, he'd probably freefall, but he had someone on his back. Zoe couldn't withstand the damage from a freefall.
So, Roy chose to grab the elevator cable with his bare hands and slid down, sparks flying.
Bang!
After sliding down for about five minutes, Roy had to press his feet against the walls several times to slow down. His soles were almost worn through. Finally, he dropped onto the top of the elevator car.
"Zoe, are you okay?"
"Cough, cough, cough! I'm fine, it's just very dusty!"
"Hold your breath for now, we're going down immediately."
Roy opened the safety hatch on the top of the elevator car with one hand, lowered Zoe down first, and then climbed in himself.
"It's so dark!"
In the constant Otherworld, there was naturally no light at all, but Roy was in his Ghost Wolf Form now, and his Dark Vision still allowed him to see normally.
But Zoe had more trouble; she couldn't see anything and couldn't help but feel a chill.
"Shhh! Don't talk! This is the Otherworld, and many monsters here are very sensitive to sound and light. Hold my hand tightly and don't let go no matter what!"
Zoe covered her mouth and nodded. At this moment, only Roy's large hand could make her feel safe.
Roy led Zoe out of the elevator. Just as he was about to activate the Hound Ring, he saw a little girl in a long purple dress suddenly appear in front of them.
That's right, this girl was Alessa!
(Alessa)
The real Alessa was actually almost thirty years old. The little girl in front of them was just a manifestation of Alessa's mind, a phantom from the past.
After all, Alessa had severe burns all over her body and likely didn't know what she would look like when she grew up.
"You are not welcome here!"
The little girl in the purple dress spoke in a clear childish voice.
"I don't mean to cause you trouble. I'm just looking for my two companions."
Roy looked calmly at the self-manifesting little girl, which surprised Zoe, as she couldn't see or hear anything right now.
"Roy, who are you talking to?"
Roy made a quiet gesture to Zoe, signaling her not to speak.
"Leave here!"
Unfortunately, Roy wanted to reason with Alessa, but after twenty years of suffering, Alessa had long since gone mad. She only wanted to carry out her revenge plan and didn't want any unexpected disturbances.
"I said I don't want to be your enemy! Do you not understand human language?!"
Alessa maintained a hostile attitude, making communication impossible. This made Roy's temper rise, and he couldn't help but swear.
"Get lost!"
The phantom of Alessa reached out a hand and released a powerful shockwave. Roy held onto Zoe, completely unmoved.
Seriously, with Roy's current physique of 72 points, he wasn't going to be shaken by a casual shockwave released by Alessa's phantom. The real Alessa might be a different story.
"Alessa, since you're being so uncooperative, then just pray I don't find you!"
Saying that, Roy activated the Hound Ring and began searching for Madison and Maria's location, no longer paying attention to Alessa's phantom.
The underground of Silent Hill Hospital was affected by Alessa's power, its area expanded several times, and the terrain became complex and confusing.
Without the guidance of the Hound Ring, Roy would have had to put in a lot of effort to find Madison and Maria.
"Fck, fck, fck! Seriously, we shouldn't have followed that woman from the beginning!"
Madison and Maria ran frantically, followed by countless white-clothed "angels."
If one looked closely, they would see that the faces of these white-clothed "angels" were all blurred, but their figures were incredibly perfect, making people feel an undeniable sense of desire just by looking at them.
(Nurses, the most classic monster in Silent Hill, just as popular as Pyramid Head, a frequent visitor in the... well, you know.)
"Madison, do you still have the energy to talk? I can't run anymore!"
Maria was breathing heavily. Her athletic ability was worse than Madison's, and she was completely out of breath at this point.
"Damn it, where is the exit? Why are these things so disgusting!"
Madison glanced down. These nurses walked with an unsteady, six-relatives-unrecognizing gait that didn't seem fast, but they always managed to keep up behind them.
Normally, with Madison and Maria's witch talents, dealing with these nurses should have been easy, but for some reason, after entering the Silent Hill Hospital basement, their abilities seemed to be sealed, completely unusable.
So, the two little witches could only run for their lives.
Due to the darkness of the environment and the complex terrain, the two little witches had been running for over ten minutes without finding the stairs leading up, as if the stairwell had been deliberately hidden.
"Madison, I... I really can't run anymore!"
Maria leaned against the wall, almost unable to stand.
Madison gritted her teeth and pulled Maria, continuing to run.
"Hold on! Roy will definitely come to save us!"
"But, but..."
Maria's legs gave out, and she fell to the ground. Madison, already near exhaustion, was pulled down by Maria.
Several nurses moved in with twitching movements, surrounding Madison and Maria.
"It's over!"
All Madison and Maria could do was close their eyes and wait for death.
Just then, the two little witches' vision blurred, and a tall, imposing figure appeared, punching and kicking away two nurses.
After striking, Roy felt something wasn't right. He felt like he was wearing heavy shackles; the force and speed of his punches were greatly affected, as if his strength and agility attributes had been halved.
It was only because Roy's strength and agility attributes were relatively high that even when halved, he was still much stronger than the nurses, which allowed him to rescue Madison and Maria.
"Roy!" x2
Madison and Maria looked at Roy with surprise. At this moment, in their eyes, Roy seemed to be shining brightly in the darkness!
"Are you two okay?"
Roy turned back to glance at the two little witches lying on the ground.
"We're fine, be careful!"
At this point, more nurses emerged from the darkness. These nurses moved silently and quickly, making them perfect assassins.
"Step back! Zoe is behind you; quickly meet up with her!"
Roy could feel his body's weakness. He guessed this was Alessa's doing, cutting all his attributes in half.
The basement of Silent Hill Hospital was essentially Alessa's domain. Fighting in her domain, Roy naturally had to face various disadvantages.
Not wanting to underestimate the situation, Roy directly took out the chainsaw sword from his inventory and put on Jason's hockey mask, ready to go on a rampage.
