The scene shifts to the old church at the other end of Silent Hill. The time goes back to when Roy was engaged in the 'Holy Grail War' .
Realizing her backup plan had fallen apart, Gillespie's only option was to stake all her chips on her initial plan.
In the main chapel of the old church, hundreds of Silent Hill residents had gathered. These residents had lived in the surface world of Silent Hill for twenty years.
All the believers who could live in the Silent Hill world for twenty years were absolute fanatics among fanatics.
These fanatics could provide Gillespie with a great amount of power. Coupled with the magic circle she had set up in advance, she had done everything she possibly could.
"The rest can only be left to fate."
Gillespie sat on the archbishop's throne, gazing calmly at the fanatics kneeling below, praying quietly.
Deep down, this woman was uneasy, because for the past few days, everything had been spiraling out of control.
First, three little witches from the Witches' Union broke into New Centralia, attracting even more witches.
Then came the appearance of Roy and the FEA, disrupting Gillespie's plans.
Finally, Wolff's actions took away Carrie, the key figure in the backup plan, completely cutting off Gillespie's retreat.
If Gillespie knew that Wolff had also been tricked by Wendy, she'd probably laugh out loud.
By now, the only thing Gillespie could do was engage in a final showdown with her daughter, Alessa.
Gillespie was undoubtedly incredibly strong-willed to have committed so many heinous acts. So even though the situation was increasingly unfavorable, she firmly believed she would be the ultimate victor.
After an unknown period of contemplation, the church doors suddenly opened, and a middle-aged blonde woman walked in step by step.
This blonde middle-aged woman's face was covered in black lines, her eyes were bloodshot, and her pupils were gold. All of this indicated she was in a state of being possessed.
"You've finally come, my daughter Alessa."
Gillespie stood up from her seat, calmly watching the blonde middle-aged woman in the distance. In her perception, this blonde middle-aged woman was actually the image of a little girl in a purple dress.
"Mother, haven't you always wanted me to come out? Now I'm here, why don't you look happy?"
The blonde middle-aged woman stared intently at Gillespie, a clear girl's voice coming from her mouth.
Gillespie's lips curved into a faint smile.
"How could that be? Mother is very happy! In twenty years, I've never been as happy as I am today!"
"Interesting! Today is also the happiest day for me in twenty years, because I am about to taste that sweet revenge!"
The blonde middle-aged woman's face held deep-seated hatred; that resentment was clearly visible.
"Is that so? Let me see how you will get your revenge on me!"
Gillespie watched the blonde middle-aged woman calmly, seemingly having no intention of making a move.
It wasn't that Gillespie thought she was strong enough to let Alessa strike first. In reality, it was because Alessa's true body wasn't here; she was currently remotely controlling the blonde middle-aged woman.
If Alessa wasn't allowed to make the first move, her true body wouldn't appear in the old church, making anything Gillespie did meaningless.
Gillespie had waited twenty years for her daughter to appear and didn't want to wait another twenty.
The blonde middle-aged woman walked to the center of the chapel. All the fanatics retreated to the sides at Gillespie's gesture.
At this moment, the blonde middle-aged woman's eyes cleared up, and the black lines on her face began to fade significantly.
"Rose, do what you need to do!"
At this point, only the blonde middle-aged woman, Rose, could see a little girl in a purple dress standing in front of her.
Rose's expression was initially confused, as if wondering why she was here, but quickly her eyes became resolute.
"Alessa, you promised me you would give my daughter back!"
Alessa looked at Rose, a smile on her face identical to Sharon's, causing Rose to feel a moment of daze.
"Yes! As long as you do what you need to do, your daughter will return to your side!"
Rose's body began to tremble. She took out a rusty, blood-stained dagger and held it in her palm, examining it, as if preparing herself mentally for the final act.
"Alessa, don't lie to me! Otherwise, even if I go to hell, I won't forgive you!"
"Go on! Your daughter is waiting for you to come home!"
These words were the final straw for Rose. This blonde middle-aged woman was indeed a bit foolish, but as a mother, her love for her daughter was undoubtedly great.
Pfft!
Finally, Rose plunged the rusty dagger into her abdomen, warm blood splattering onto the floor.
Instantly, the places where the blood splattered quickly corroded, becoming rusty and filled with a decaying smell, just like the feeling of the Otherworld.
At the same time, a circular hole appeared in the floor in front of Rose where the blood pooled. Beneath was a hellish sea of fire, and a figure wrapped in bandages lay on a metal bed, slowly rising from the Otherworld.
(Famous scene)
This was Alessa's true appearance.
"I finally see you again, my mother!"
Every word from Alessa contained hatred, as if she wanted to release all the pain and resentment accumulated over twenty years.
Gillespie's face showed a particularly ferocious smile.
"Alessa, you've finally appeared! I've waited for this day for twenty whole years!"
"And I have waited for this day for twenty whole years!"
Saying that, Alessa could no longer control her killing intent. Countless barbed wire strands extended from the hole in the ground, attacking the surrounding fanatics.
These barbed wire strands were equipped with incredibly sharp barbs, usually found on battlefields, the nightmare of all infantry, capable of causing massive and painful injuries to the human body.
Using this barbed wire as a weapon also showed the hatred in Alessa's heart; she wanted to torment her enemies as much as possible.
Thus, a brutal and bloody slaughter began.
Most of the fanatics were actually just ordinary people. Even if some had guns, they couldn't harm Alessa at all.
Alessa vented her anger to her heart's content, but merely killing these insignificant fanatics didn't reduce her hatred by even a thousandth. The one she truly wanted to kill was her mother, Gillespie.
However, at this moment, Gillespie simply stood in front of the throne, quietly watching Alessa's slaughter, her expression and eyes completely calm.
"Gillespie, look at me! Let me see your fear and regret! I want you to pay for what you did twenty years ago!"
Hearing this, Gillespie suddenly let out a snort of laughter, which then grew louder and louder.
"Hahahaha... Alessa, you're still so naive! Do you think corrupting this church means you can defeat me?"
At this point, more than half of the old church had been corrupted into Alessa's Otherworld form. This meant she had gained control of the faith power stored in the church, which also meant Gillespie had lost the power she had relied on.
The scales of victory were clearly tipping towards Alessa, yet Gillespie showed no panic whatsoever. This made Alessa feel a faint sense of unease deep down.
"Hmph! Then let me see how else you can yap and howl!"
After gaining the power of the entire church, more barbed wire surged from the hole in the ground, overwhelming Gillespie. However, just as it was about to touch her, the barbed wire was blocked by some invisible barrier.
The smile on Gillespie's face gradually faded, replaced by a playful look as she gazed at Alessa.
"My dear Alessa, I don't seem to remember teaching you that word. It seems you've made some progress over the years, but unfortunately, it's limited!"
Alessa was sacrificed by Gillespie when she was eight or nine years old and then hid in the dark underground of Silent Hill Hospital. She obviously had no chance to receive education. Her understanding of the outside world actually came from Sharon, the split-off part of herself.
Only after reabsorbing the Sharon split did Alessa gain some understanding of the outside world, but Sharon was also just a child, so her education level was still elementary school.
It's really tragic for a villain if they can't even outsmart an elementary school student.
Leaving aside the movie version's plot, which basically gave the protagonist cheat-like powers and resulted in a plot kill.
But in the game, Alessa was able to defeat Gillespie truly by relying on the God of War father, Harry Mason, carrying her the entire way.
At the end of the game calculation, Alessa's score was 3.0, while God of War Harry Mason had a 13.0 'carry' game.
What Alessa? She was just a dog who won by being carried.
This change in events made Alessa's eyes change, and she immediately sensed something was wrong.
"You!"
"Alessa, let me teach you what true power is! It's also me fulfilling my last duty as a mother before your curtain call."
Gillespie showed an incredibly evil smile, then reached out and clenched her hand in the air.
Then, the fanatics who had been cruelly killed by the barbed wire opened their eyes wide and their mouths, from which surged a kind of red power. That was the wicked divine power from the Lord of Wrath.
It turned out that before the final battle, Gillespie had distributed most of the divine power from the church into the bodies of all the fanatics present. Each person received at least a small amount, which wouldn't attract Alessa's attention, thus completing this secretive plan.
And when Alessa corrupted the entire church and gained control of the power within it, she didn't immediately notice that the power she received was less than expected.
This was also normal. Alessa was originally just an ordinary little girl. Perhaps she inherited her mother Gillespie's witch talent, but she hadn't received any related education.
In fact, Gillespie's actions during Alessa's childhood might have all been aimed at making her emotionally agitated and awaken early, similar to Emma's situation.
In the end, it was Gillespie who used sacrifice to awaken Alessa. At that time, she definitely didn't know what power the old Silent Hill church held.
After gathering the divine power of the Lord of Wrath from the fanatics, Gillespie first sealed off the hole Alessa emerged from, cutting off her retreat and source of power. Then, she summoned countless red blades, cutting through the barbed wire Alessa created like harvesting chives.
Alessa had realized she had fallen into Gillespie's trap. She didn't want to surrender and could only continuously create more barbed wire and summon various Otherworld monsters to protect herself.
Unfortunately, in terms of magical skill, Alessa's level was completely incomparable to Gillespie, who had received professional magical training.
Even if their powers were equal, Alessa wouldn't be Gillespie's opponent, let alone now that Gillespie, using the faith power within the fanatics and the divine power of the Lord of Wrath, had regained the upper hand in terms of strength.
"It's useless, Alessa! Everything you do is just futile!"
Gillespie abruptly raised both hands, and a wave of blood-red energy swept across the entire area, crushing Alessa's final struggles.
Alessa, along with the metal bed she was lying on, fell to the ground with a clang. This signified her complete defeat.
Gillespie walked down the steps gracefully, approaching Alessa.
"My dear daughter, I told you long ago that you wouldn't be my opponent. Why did you still struggle? If you had submitted to me twenty years ago, you wouldn't have had to endure so much pain."
As she walked, Gillespie continued speaking her twisted logic. Alessa couldn't listen at all. She only regretted not being able to kill her mother.
Even if it meant mutual destruction!
Alessa's eyes were filled with unwillingness.
Gillespie reached Alessa's front and extended her hand, beginning to absorb the power of the Lord of Wrath from her body.
"Now, let us become one and become the vessel of the Red God! I will receive the Red God's reward and gain eternal life at the end of the world! And you, my daughter, can share in this glory!"
Truly a scene of 'mother-daughter harmony'!
Alessa ultimately couldn't resist Gillespie's power. Her soul, along with the power of the Lord of Wrath, was extracted.
Having gained complete power, Gillespie knelt on the ground and began reciting a prayer.
"Pray, I am the Red God!
The embodiment of death and wrath, the only true God in this world!
Believers, listen to my words!
In this doomsday of final judgment,
Offer your loyalty to the great Red God,
And gain eternal life in the darkness of despair!"
As Gillespie chanted, the entire Silent Hill world began to tremble violently. The power maintaining the world's stability was rapidly converging on her.
The church's dome turned to dust under this power, and a crimson beam of light descended from the sky, shining on Gillespie.
Gillespie closed her eyes and tilted her head back, feeling this divine miracle, a look of fanaticism on her face.
At this moment, Gillespie seemed to already feel the approval of the Lord of Wrath.
However, just then, a clear, cold voice came from the entrance of the chapel.
"God said: Heaven to Heaven, Earth to Earth, Hell to Hell!"
Gillespie opened her eyes and saw a woman with a black cloth over her eyes, wearing a white nun's habit, walking towards her.
Then, several chains appeared at Gillespie's feet, binding her body.
"No! Just a little more! Just a little more!"
Unfortunately, Gillespie was forcibly dragged into hell by a Great Prophecy spell.
But the trembling of the Silent Hill world did not stop, and the beam of light descending from the sky did not completely disappear; it just appeared in another place.
Here's another picture of the nun.
