Chapter 19 - Chapter 17 Clare's Truth.

(Clare's pov)

In the past timeline, Miyabi didn't exist. At least in another timeline, I haven't met her or even heard of her.

Especially considering the fact that she's not inferior to the sword goddess, and I'm more than sure that she can even defeat the empress, and perhaps the title of sword goddess will go to Miyabi, but that will be in the future...

In fact, I've long known the whole truth about the past of the world, and that my wife Rae is behind it all, even though I didn't have memories of many lives... Except for one...

Everything was supposed to go wrong.

We were supposed to live peacefully and raise our daughters, and not be attacked by unknown creatures.

Before my eyes, everyone I loved died. And Rae, who was always present in every world reset, sacrificed herself to rewind time, and all my memories were preserved.

As soon as Rae appears at the academy that day, I will still pretend to be a villain, I know that she likes it, and I am only happy to please my future wife...

I have a lot to change, and I will start...

"Miyabi... save my mother..." I said, looking at the girl with fox ears.

I saw that she was not at all surprised, and even seemed to have expected such a request.

"So you know about her death?" she asked.

I simply nodded, trying to hold back my tears. In the past timeline, before my mother and father left, I said a lot of bad words to my mother, because of which I regretted for the rest of my life that I could not apologize to her.

"If I say that this is not my first life, will you believe me?" I asked.

"Are you talking about all your lives when the world was rewritten?" she asked, which surprised me that she knew about the system that rewrote the world at the end of time.

"No, I don't remember these lives… rather, I remember another timeline… In it, our world was invaded by creatures that destroyed the entire planet… I saw… how everyone died Rae… my girls…" I said and then the world around me swam, and I began to cry.

Miyabi came up to me and just hugged me, and I couldn't stand it and started to sob.

"Hush-hush, I'm here, we'll fix everything…" she said, starting to stroke my head.

"Clare, tell me. How did you manage to roll back time?" she asked, continuing to pet me.

I wiped away my tears, and looked into the beautiful eyes of the fox girl.

"Demon Lord… The original Rae Taylor, sacrificed herself so that I could have a chance…" I said.

"So that's why you want to learn from me?" she asked, to which I simply nodded.

"In another timeline, you simply didn't exist, and it was a shock for me to see you and your swordsmanship, in which you were not inferior to the goddess of the sword herself." I said.

"I see… You know that Rae Taylor is watching you, right?" she asked, to which I simply nodded.

"Yeah… But she's not my wife… Maybe in previous iterations it was like that, but not now… My wife will appear only in ten years…" I said, remembering how I first met her.

Back then, I was still an arrogant noblewoman, and I often bullied Rae in every way, who of course enjoyed it... my wife has strange fetishes...

Anyway, I always made sure that my "bullying" was harmless, and also did not allow my friends to bully Rae...

Those times only make me smile...

"Anyway, can you tell me how you ended up in this world?" I asked.

"To be honest, I just went through a portal, but for reasons unknown to me, it closed, so I got stuck in this world." she said.

"I see..." she answered quietly.

"Anyway, I still have a lot to talk about with you, but right now I need to save a cutie's mom." she said, winking at me, which only made me blush.

Miyabi walked towards the gate and after stepping through it, she quickly disappeared as if she had teleported, but I knew that she was just running fast.

Sometimes I think that she is a goddess who came to help me or she was sent by a goddess or god, but I will never know.

But with her, I am sure that we can save everyone.

"Mistress, happy birthday to you." I heard the voice of Lene, my best friend, which pulled me out of my thoughts.

She handed me some kind of package, in the shape of a rectangle, so I could assume that it was most likely a book.

"Thank you Lene, but what is this?" I asked, taking the package in my hands.

"The merchants I bought that book from came to town recently. I know how fired you are by fencing, so I decided to give you a book on fencing… I also consulted with Miss Miyabi about this book, she said it would suit you perfectly." My maid told me.

I just smiled at her and quickly hugged her, which surprised her, but she didn't object.

Quite soon, I returned to my room to start reading the book, waiting for… Mom to come back…

I believe in Miyabi… to be honest, she's like an older sister to me, who will always help me if I ask her…

Why do I trust her so unconditionally? Maybe it's because I see hope for a happy future in her.

I don't know, but at least I want to believe it.
