Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Mittelt's Feelings and AI from the 3K Era (1)

"There you go, rest well."

In a simple room, Sanguinius slowly laid Mittelt down on a rudimentary bed.

'I hope she's not too embarrassed.'

Sanguinius wasn't an idiot. He understood perfectly that Mittelt had spent an "energetic" day with her friends.

It had ended up leading her to drunkenness, and she had tried to hide this shameful facet of herself, without success.

So, he hadn't mentioned anything on the way back.

Both had simply enjoyed a comfortable silence.

"No... don't leave me again."

As he was leaving the exhausted girl's bedside, Sanguinius felt a slight pressure gripping his clothes.

The force wasn't great, but terribly hesitant.

Yet, it carried the weight of all the courage contained in that small body lying on the bed.

"Rest, you don't seem to be in good shape."

Mittelt had already sobered up thanks to the 'holy power,' but she was pretending to take advantage of Sanguinius's back.

An act that hadn't escaped Kalawarna before her escape.

Unfortunately, Sanguinius had underestimated the cunning hidden behind Mittelt's 'defenseless' appearance.

"...Just... just this time, don't go."

After sighing in resignation, the man ended up spending the night in Mittelt's room.

At first, the two people slept on their own sides of the bed.

However, it didn't last long.

Mittelt eventually clung to Sanguinius's large body during her sleep, and he returned the embrace by reflex.

Unfortunately for the poor loli, Sanguinius was a true gentleman that night... despite his sleep, and his wild little brother.

The man was noble enough not to attack the woman in his arms, nor soil the dignity of the name "Sanguinius" to satisfy base instincts.

'At least, I now know that I have an effect on him.'

Despite the failure of her seduction attempt, Mittelt now had the certainty that the man in her arms wasn't indifferent to her.

'Isn't it bigger than the size mentioned by Rayana?'

....

"I don't understand why we're here, it's dangerous."

It had been a week since Sanguinius and Mittelt reunited.

They had spent three days making up for lost time, because Sanguinius had felt a bit guilty about Mittelt's state upon his return.

On the fifth day, they had officially left Grigori for a "reconnaissance mission" to the human world.

They were currently on an island in the Mediterranean, which would later become Cyprus.

"Stop complaining, I thought you didn't want to be left out anymore," he said, checking the details related to his installation in a basement.

Unlike the base in the underworld, this one had no visible runes or magic.

Sanguinius avoids using magic during the construction of this place, but total non-use is impossible.

The reason?

He's not Senku, but just a guy with a good head on his shoulders, a good memory, with plenty of free time to boot.

'We're on a domain under Greek influence, I really can't get caught.'

He hadn't chosen Cyprus by chance or on a whim.

He needed an area away from the direct influence of the continent, but also from Grigori.

So, he had opted for a decent-sized island, with enough resources to grow the foundations of a small civilization.

'Currently, the Olympian pantheon is still in its infancy, and Cronos has just lost his authority.'

Sanguinius estimated that he was at the end of the Silver Age in Greek mythology.

One must understand that there were five ages in Greek cosmology.

'The Golden and Silver Ages must have already passed.'

The Golden Age corresponded to the reign of the Titan of time, Cronos. At that time, humanity lived in almost absurd harmony: no aging, no laborious work, the earth offered fruits and vegetables without having to cultivate it.

According to memories from his past lives, Sanguinius could confirm that there were no "modern" problems in that era.

No pain, no suffering, not even social conflicts.

Pure happiness... except for Cronos himself.

The Silver Age, on the other hand, marked the beginning of troubles for humanity.

Under the reign of Zeus, who had overthrown his father, men began to degenerate.

In the Golden Age, humans didn't age, and after their death, they became protective spirits of the earth.

But in the Silver Age? Children remained dependent on their mothers for a long time, adults became quarrelsome, disrespectful to the gods as well as among themselves.

Seasons, that sadistic invention, appeared at that time... cursed Demeter and Hades.

And finally, Zeus ended up annihilating the humans of that era.

How?

By a flood!!

A divine cleansing initially initiated by the Biblical God, to clean the earth of sinners and other abominations.

Which brings Sanguinius to his current era, in Greek cosmology.

The Bronze Age.

A chaotic, brutal era, filled with bellicose men destined to kill each other.

It was a bloody transition period... which was supposed to pave the way for the Age of Heroes.

"Hmm..." Mittelt simply crossed her arms before starting to pout.

"...Sorry, it's just that these things require a lot of concentration."

Mittelt had gotten into the habit of pouting in front of Sanguinius, especially since a certain incident at the Grigori facilities, on their fourth day together (rest).

She had literally surprised him during an important study... on the unnatural physiology of certain Grigori women.

That day, Mittelt had locked herself in her room without wanting to discuss.

'That's why you should never mix work and private life...'

Even though they had no official relationship, Mittelt's feelings towards him could become problematic from Sanguinius's point of view.

After all, signs of jealousy are often the prelude to something more serious.

He had read enough fictional works to recognize a 'plot twist' in advance.

'Madara Uchiha gives excellent lessons on human nature, but I don't want to end up all alone in the back of a cave.'

Thus, the famous phrase about love turning into hate was directly thrown into the trash by Sanguinius's second brain.

"Ok. Tell me how I can help without magic."

"For now, you can't."

He simply handed her some notes, simplifying his knowledge from books on Warhammer universe science (2k era).

"But, that can change."

Mittelt nodded with a small delighted smile, before walking away with the books.

'That should keep her busy for a while.'

He once again turned all his attention to the electrical installation of the bunker, which would soon be powered by his future hydraulic generator.

"I just need to follow this plan," he said, to no one in particular, looking at the plans created using his scientific knowledge.

The scroll shows the plans for the bunker, but also various modern installations unknown in this era.

After a quick observation, he decided on his next moves.

"I need to install the turbine first and quickly complete the construction of the battery to power the bunker."

He had already finished the electrical installation in the base, but there was no power source.

Unlike his base in the underworld, he didn't want to power it with electrical magic.

He had already magically created an artificial water channel that flows into the ocean not far from his bunker.

Following his plans, he began building the turbine needed for his hydraulic generator.

It didn't take long unlike Senku, because he already had the raw materials at hand thanks to the group chat, and he possessed abnormal strength compared to humans.

By the end of the day, there was electricity in the base.

"I literally used all my 100 points in non-magical raw materials."

This may seem stupid, but it's a profitable investment in the long run.

He no longer needed to search for his resources and could focus on creating the artificial intelligence, which he had set aside
