Kael couldn't quite process what he was seeing at first.
Yes, the massive black thread was stretching across the river-like current, but what caught his eye even more were the threads beneath it.
Thinner. Much thinner.
Back when he was simply sensing his body, he could only perceive the larger strands. But now… now he could see even those delicate, minute filaments, like hair-thin lines of shadow swimming below the surface.
He felt, instinctively, that perhaps one of those was better suited to anchor his core. Of course, that would depend entirely on whether the thread was truly connected to his body, fully, completely.
Without hesitation, he began to search.
But this time, he didn't do what he had done before, painstakingly observing each thread, tracing its flow, trying to decipher its end.
Now, whenever he saw a thread, he simply thought about where it was connected… and in that instant, he would vanish—reappearing somewhere else, somewhere along the path of that thread.
