Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Awakening a Magic Class

Chapter 35: Awakening a Magic Class

The air was thick with tension—charged, oppressive.

Lei Feng darted forward, his blade a flash of silver light as it slashed through a goblin warrior's throat.

But before he could breathe, a shriek echoed.

Screee!

A Goblin Shaman raised its twisted staff—and a bolt of violet energy roared toward him.

BOOM!

A jagged bolt of dark violet energy tore from the gnarled wood. It slammed into Lei Feng's chest with bone-cracking force.

CRACK—!

His body was flung like a ragdoll. He smashed into a tree trunk; bark exploded around him like shards of stone. The impact knocked the breath from his lungs. He crumpled to the forest floor, coughing blood, ribs on fire.

> "Ghh—dammit..."

His vision blurred. Pain screamed through his chest. Around him, goblin warriors encircled, snarling, their crude weapons glinting in the dying amber light. The shamans began chanting again—low, rhythmic, cruel. Their glowing eyes glinted with unholy glee.

Lei Feng's hand fumbled for his blade.

"Tch... I might be Level 13, but I still don't have a proper magic class..."

"Is this the limit of my strength?" The thought clawed at him, bitter and unwelcome. He gritted his teeth.

"I refuse to collapse here!"

His body trembled—not from fear, but sheer effort. His strength wasn't enough. Not anymore. These weren't just monsters—they were leveled threats. Intelligent. Dangerous.

"Those bastards... all Level 13... the shamans—Level 14..."

"That spell almost killed me."

A tight knot of helplessness clenched in his chest.

For a brief moment... doubt crept in.

Then—

> Ding!

A familiar chime rang out, sharp and bright. A translucent interface shimmered before his eyes—more vivid, more insistent than ever before.

---

> [CLASS ADVANCEMENT AVAILABLE!]

The words pulsed in gold, rhythmic like a heartbeat—alive. It was as if the System itself felt his desperation. Felt the weight pressing against him.

His moment had come.

"Now or never," he muttered hoarsely, coughing blood.

He tapped the screen.

---

> [Random Class Loading...]

Lei Feng held his breath.

Please not something useless, he prayed.

Ding!

Congratulations! You have awakened the [Arcane Swordsman] Class!

---

Lei Feng blinked.

"Swordsman?! That's barely a change—I needed magic, not more of the same—"

The screen continued to scroll.

---

> Class Description:

His words died in his throat.

"Lightning..." he whispered.

Something within him snapped—no, awakened. A resonance deep in his core. He could feel it—crackling beneath his skin, curling along his spine. A presence. A storm, waiting to be unchained.

Knowledge exploded into his mind. Techniques—movements—instincts he had never learned flowed into his limbs. It was like unlocking muscle memory that had always been there.

Electricity surged through his veins. His skin tingled. His blood thrummed.

His body wasn't just recovering—it was evolving.

He opened his Status Panel.

"Whoa... my Killing Intent mastery jumped by 9%?" Lei Feng mumbled in surprise

I guess the more I use the skill the further I increase my mastery.

I wonder what happens if my skill eventually hits 100%.

Will my skill evolve?

As he thought, his eyes caught sight of something.

> [Passive Skill: Basic Swordsmanship (Advanced) — Mastery: 10%]

"Huh? 10%? But I only just acquired the skill."

Then realization dawned.

"I've been using sword techniques nonstop... so I adapted faster."

He smiled faintly, despite the pain. Everything was starting to make sense.

His smile faded.

"Three... more magic classes? In twenty days?"

"That's insane." He grumbled.

But his eyes—those lightning-lit eyes—still burned with fire.

"Bring it on."

The air shifted. Mana swirled around him—wild, electric. The ground trembled faintly. The goblins took a wary step back.

---

> Inventory Updated: [Stormpiercer – Bronze Rank]

He summoned it.

In a burst of azure sparks, the sword materialized—sleek, elegant, dangerous.

---

> Stormpiercer

Bronze Rank Longsword

Forged of tempered arcane steel, laced with sky-crystal veins.

+10% Lightning Skill Amplification.

The faster it swings, the sharper it cuts.

---

Stormpiercer was longer than the Nameless Sword. Silver-blue steel shimmered with arcs of lightning. Storm runes gleamed along its centerline. The hilt pulsed with warmth—alive, waiting.

Its scabbard was sky-blue, lightning coils etched like a dragon coiling in slumber.

Lei Feng gripped it.

ZZZZZZRRAK!

Lightning surged down his arm, into the blade. The weapon hummed—hungry, thrilled to be wielded.

His blue eyes sparked—silver lightning dancing through his irises.

Bloodied. Bruised.

But no longer broken.

He rose to his feet.

The goblin warriors hesitated. The shamans hissed in unison, their glowing eyes narrowing.

They sensed it now—something had changed.

Lei Feng's aura, once chaotic and raw, had sharpened to a blade's edge.

It pulsed with dominion—calm, cold, electric.

It was no longer the aura of prey... but a predator.

The shamans screeched in panic, raising their staffs high. Cracks of dark mana surged from their gnarled tips. They carved runes in the air, chanting furiously in their guttural tongue.

> "HRAAK-NUUN!"

KA-BOOM!

Three cursed incantations detonated at once. A writhing storm of dark violet energy twisted into existence—three spells fused into one monstrous force. It roared toward Lei Feng, warping the air, tearing at the trees around him.

The ground trembled beneath its pressure.

But Lei Feng stood unmoved, blue eyes narrowed with resolve.

"Let's test it out…"

A smile curved his lips.

"Lightning Steps!"

He poured 10 MP into the technique.

For a breathless second—silence.

Then—

CRACK-KA-THOOM!!!

The air around him shattered with a flash of blinding blue. Arcs of lightning exploded from his body. His figure vanished—teleported in a streak of crackling energy.

One moment he was there—

The next, he was everywhere.

A blur. A streak of light. A phantom of thunder.

BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

He shot past the spell, skipping between reality and lightning like a storm given form. Trees bent from the force of his passage. The dark energy detonated behind him, crashing into empty space.

The goblins stared, stunned—terrified.

A single heartbeat later—

Lei Feng reappeared behind them, ten feet above the ground, descending like a god of thunder.

Stormpiercer hummed in his grip, coated in blue arcs, vibrating with power.

"Lightning Strike!"

He slashed forward.

The sword became a bolt of lightning.

ZZZAAAAAK-CRACK!!

A jagged arc of pure lightning tore through the air, roaring toward the shamans. The ground split in its wake, light exploding outward like a miniature thunderstorm.

Two goblin warriors leapt in, shields raised, snarling.

BOOOOOM!!!

The lightning smashed into them.

Their shields melted on impact—wood turned to ash, iron liquefied. Their bodies were hurled backward, arcing through the air like broken dolls.

They hit the ground with sickening thuds—smoking, twitching, still.

The remaining shaman screamed—but it was already too late.

Lei Feng landed in a crouch, steam rising from his boots. Blue arcs crackled along his skin, lightning dancing between his fingertips. His eyes blazed like twin stars, reflecting the storm within.

He didn't hesitate.

He surged forward.

Stormpiercer flickered with raw power, its blade humming with restrained lightning.

He appeared before the closest shaman like a ghost—a single step, yet covering meters.

Slash!

The shaman barely raised its staff before Lei Feng's sword carved across its chest, sending sparks and blood flying. It shrieked and stumbled, but didn't fall. Its eyes widened in rage as it began to chant, dark mana swirling once more—

But Lei Feng didn't stay in place.

He spun mid-air—twisting as another goblin warrior lunged from behind, axe raised.

Clang!

Stormpiercer parried the blow with a blast of lightning, sending the goblin reeling. Lei Feng pivoted, foot sweeping under its legs—

THUD!

—and then brought his blade down with a sharp vertical slash.

"Lightning Slash!"

CRACK!!

The goblin convulsed as the sword cleaved down through its armor, electricity bursting through its body.

It twitched once… then collapsed into smoke.
