Chapter 9 - 9 Ori, The Sun-Eater

Siren Buzzes

"LIU, WAKE UP! SOMETHING HAPPENED IN THE CITY WE WERE CALLED ON THE SPOT!" Fanguar frantically wakes Liu up

"HUH? WHATS HAPPENING" as Liu wakes up fast from his bed.

"The red siren is buzzing. It means an anomaly has attacked the city. All heroes from all the states were called here. And we need to go their as soon as possible"

Liu Kang then suits up, gets ready, wears his gears, and just when he was about to go out: Nexen and Ayra stands Infront of him. They are all also suited up and ready to go. When Liu asks them why they are in hero suits, they say that they want to be heroes aswell. Liu says nothing but shows a sign of approval and they leave. Fanguar, Liu, Nexen and Ayra, all four gets on a vehicle and goes to the needed destination.

The destination was packed with heroes. They couldn't find any anomaly. But what they saw was nothing more of pure horror.

2-3 shops destroyed, the streets Infront was crushed and 5 people died. There is no sign of explosion, no accidents, and no natural calamities. Apparently the siren set off a couple hours ago. So it's all really confusing. Why were the properties destroyed, and why did the civilians die? The civilians died in weird manners too, some were torn in half, some was impaled, others beheaded. It feels like someone did it, a person? No, a thing, a thing did it.

Gps mark goes off

"Hey, what was that?"

"This is a GPS device. It helps me find abnormal things throughout the city. Look, the GPS is telling me to go far east from here. Must've caught something. Let's go"

And they go to the same warehouse where the 3 punks were killed. But now, it's an even more mess. They see the warehouse, enters, and see a massive pile of dead bodies. Shocked and disgusted by the rotting smell of human flesh, Liu and Nexen goes out. Fanguar goes closer and inspects one of the rotting corpses. He finds the thing he never wished. He finds Blanka poisoning.

Blanka poisoning is a certain kind of poisoning that are often found in victims of Blanka races. The Blanka races are a mysterious, intergalactic species of races and not much is known about them. But what's found common in them is that their victims always has black patches around their bruises and injuries. This is called Blanka poisoning. Blanka poisonings are first found on skin, flesh and then inside the organs, especially the more important ones like Lungs, Heart, Liver and Brain. Blankas are a threat to the world, they are hard to deal with. But they were announced extinct hundreds of years ago. How can they suddenly appear out of thin air ? Fanguar realises the density of this situation and leaves the warehouse to tell his Master Dabo about this. Nexen, Liu and Ayra follows Fanguar too.

Dabo at that time was teaching martial arts to his students when Fanguar appears with his crew. Dabo realises that something bad is coming so he dismisses his students to go home.

"What's with the long face Fang?"

"Master, I'm afraid Ori is here"

.....

....

...

.....

"No. This, is, not okay"

"Ori? Who is that master Dabo?" Liu asks.

Scared Dabo, says "Find him, NOW!"

In a frantic hurry, Dabo gets ready and goes out with Fanguar and the others to the main head of Shibuya, Julius Keddy.

After about an hour of hassle, they arrive to the Julius Keddys Greyhouse.

"Heyyy, Dabo. Long time without a talk" Keddy says

"Keddy, where's Purity?"

"It's still inside the vault Dabo. You don't have to worry about it. What happened? You don't even talk to me"

"Keddy, Ori is here."

At that moment, something snapped in him. Something about his looks changed. As if he had seen his own demise. It was quick, and sudden.

"Sir, what happened? Master Dabo, who is Ori?"

Ori… is not a man. He's not even a being you can reason with. He's… a force. A shadow that slips through steel, a scream that never ends. Years ago, he came from god knows where —no heartbeat, no voice. Only destruction." President says.

He glances at Dabo, who silently lowers his head.

President (voice trembling):

"We tried to stop him. God knows we tried. Our armies couldn't lay a finger on him. He tore through cities like they were paper. We watched entire battalions dissolve—screaming—as he spread himself into them. Inside them. Controlled them. Turned them against us. The only reason we survived is because of Xano" As president couldn't hold it anymore. Visions of the war with Ori sweeps through his mind and he falls on knees, crying. Dabo goes to him and comforts his friend.

....

....

"God, help us. For Ori must be stopped, please."
