Chapter 27 - "The White Tiger and the Grind."

-----

-----

"If that's the case, taking down the White Tiger will be a lot easier," Wei Yuan muttered to himself.

Actually, there were two ways to kill the White Tiger:

First, relying on the power-up of the godly avatar Da Yi.

Second, using the "Eye of Truth" to freeze time.

Wei Yuan had always favored Da Yi's power-up. As long as he kept getting stronger, the charge limit would rise too. Sooner or later, he'd get the chance to land a blow strong enough to kill the White Tiger in one punch.

That said, the No. 5 godly avatar, with its "Eye of Truth," was clearly more suited for short-range, decisive actions. Whether it was eliminating a person or a tiger, as long as he got in close and struck within the limited window of frozen time, it was basically guaranteed: either the target dies or gets seriously injured. It was just that easy, though he was hesitant to rely on an ability with such an unknown cost.

The Next Day

Wei Yuan was still grinding away at his training. Progress was slow.

Some moves, he clearly knew how to do in theory—but actually pulling them off was a whole different story.

For example, when rotating his arm to chest level, the movement was supposed to slow down a bit, and his breathing had to follow a "three long, one short" rhythm.

Even though he knew that, executing it was tough. Like—how long is "long"? How short is "short"? It's really hard to get the timing right. He kept messing that part up.

And don't even mention the stuff he hadn't memorized yet.

"Senior brother, how long did it take you to master those moves?" Wei Yuan asked Zhang Wu.

"You mean the three moves in the first stage of Eight Extremes Collapse? I was one of the slower ones. I followed Li Degui for three days and didn't even learn one move. Then I trained with some of the other senior brothers and sisters for a month and still couldn't get it right. In the end, I had to scrape together some money and ask Old Li to teach me again for three more days before I finally got it down," Zhang Wu recalled.

Wei Yuan was speechless.

So Old Li's not just a teacher—he's got a side hustle milking students for cash.

"What about the others?" Wei Yuan asked.

"The fast learners can pick it up in ten days or half a month. The slower ones? Three to five months isn't unusual. I've even met folks who took two or three years to finally get it right," Zhang Wu replied.

Wei Yuan started thinking hard.

Looks like he might have to cough up a second tuition fee for Li Degui too.

A Few Days Later – Time for Some Good Luck

That morning, Wei Yuan woke up in the Qin residence. The first thing he did? Draw a new godly avatar.

Ding!

Ding!

"Haha! Ju Ling Shen!" (The Mighty Spirit God!)

Nice! He finally rolled a double—activating "Divine Descent."

"Ju Ling's divine power—nothing is impossible!"

Wei Yuan jumped out of bed, got dressed, and didn't even bother washing his face before rushing outside to train in the courtyard.

...

Everything clicked naturally. Wei Yuan picked up all the key points like it was second nature. His body felt ridiculously talented—he could transition smoothly between linked and isolated moves with perfect timing.

After three full runs, he'd already memorized all the key movements and could replicate them almost flawlessly.

His stomach grumbled—time for breakfast.

After eating, he excitedly made his way to the Li residence.

Soon After

Once everyone arrived, they began their group practice in the courtyard.

Wei Yuan was full of energy, carefully watching the movements of the three senior brothers in front. After comparing them, he realized Rong Ran's form was the most precise—almost identical to Master Li Degui's demonstration.

So he started mimicking Rong Ran's every move. Sure enough, he learned a ton just by copying him and progressed super fast.

After the training session, Wei Yuan approached Old Li and handed him two taels of silver.

"Master Li, this is the wage I received from Mr. Qin. I'd like to give it to you to thank you for recommending me."

"Well now, you're quite the polite one," Old Li said, eyes lighting up as he accepted the money with a grin.

Wei Yuan quickly followed up, "I'm still struggling with my techniques. Please, Master Li, could you teach me the first stage of Eight Extremes Collapse again?"

"Sure, but I'll only teach you for half a day. How much you learn is up to you," Old Li replied readily, clearly not surprised by the request.

The two of them returned to the main hall.

Without wasting time, Old Li began demonstrating the moves. After one full performance, he broke it down step-by-step, carefully explaining each move and slowly showing every single detail.

But this time—Wei Yuan had perfect memory!

It was like he'd unlocked the Sharingan. Every movement Old Li made was instantly burned into his brain, as if he'd copied and pasted it into his mind.

He only needed to see it once to remember everything, down to the tiniest detail. He didn't even need Old Li to explain it again.

With "Divine Descent" active, all Wei Yuan had to do was watch someone perform a technique—and boom, he'd mastered it instantly. His understanding and execution were just as good as the original. With just a little more practice, he'd surpass his teachers and reach peak perfection.

His talent was honestly freakish.

The morning flew by.

Wei Yuan left the Li residence, had lunch outside, then went back to the Qin residence. In his little courtyard, he began practicing the moves alone.

And just as expected, he quickly mastered every key movement. His transitions were smooth, his forms clean—he flowed through all three techniques of the first stage of Eight Extremes Collapse like a pro.

If you scored them out of ten, Rong Ran might get a 9, Old Li a 9.9—but Wei Yuan? He'd get a perfect 10.

Nobody's perfect, right? But when you've got an OP godly avatar like Wei Yuan's, "perfection" suddenly isn't so impossible anymore.
