Boom—Boom—Boom!
A massive black cube, etched with crimson spiral patterns, slammed into the earth with crushing weight.
The ground caved in three feet deep under the impact.
But despite the ferocity of the attack from Jigen, who wielded the powers of Daikokuten, Sukunahikona, and the Daihakoten, it did absolutely nothing to stop Yamanaka Shinno.
His movements were now far faster than before—leagues ahead, even.
Shinno clicked his tongue, a little disappointed, as the glow of the Byakugan flickered in his eyes.
He had already figured out most of Daikokuten's secrets, thanks to his [Multiversal Traveler] trait and the enhanced learning ability granted by [Celestial Spirit Lord].
Beyond its decent speed for summoning and storing, Daikokuten's true value lay in two key features: its ability to completely isolate the internal dimension from the outside world, and its capacity to store living beings without aging or decay.
In the original timeline, Kawaki—after being marked with a Kāma by Ōtsutsuki Isshiki—had used Daikokuten to trap Naruto and Hinata inside it for three years.
Now that Shinno had fully grasped this ability, it meant one very simple thing: he could refine and upgrade the Infinite Domain technique and bring people with him to other worlds.
As for Sukunahikona, the power to instantly shrink and enlarge objects and even himself might sound simple—but the underlying mechanics were far more complicated than he'd expected.
Which made sense. After all, even though the technique seemed basic, it could counter practically any large-scale jutsu.
Imagine Jigen going up against Hashirama Senju—he wouldn't need to break a sweat. Just one glance, and Hashirama's massive wooden statue would shrink down to a toy figurine.
Unless Jigen was willing to demonstrate the jutsu for Shinno over and over, showing the full chakra flow and the complex transformations in real time, there was no way Shinno could replicate it in the short term.
So…
He'd just have to steal the eyes.
What else could he do?
"You'll all pay for what you've done today."
Jigen, now fully in "Kāma: Phase Two," stood surrounded on all sides, his gaze as cold and sharp as a blade.
Activating the Kāma's absorption ability, he drew in the black flames of Amaterasu that clung to his body, converting them into chakra and storing them within.
Then he gripped the black rod embedded in his heart, using Sukunahikona to shrink it down to microscopic particles and stash it inside Daikokuten.
Uchiha Hikari's sneak attack had inflicted fatal damage on his body—the vessel.
Now Jigen had only two choices.
Option one: use the Kāma to repair the vessel's damage. But if he did that, he wouldn't be able to mark anyone else with a Kāma for a while.
Option two: distract Shinno long enough for his subordinates to succeed in capturing Kushina. Once they had her under control, he'd open a spatial rift to their location and mark her with a new Kāma!
"You won't live long enough to regret it."
Shinno vanished from his spot with a blur of light. Chakra surged through his body as he rocketed toward Jigen, faster than the eye could track.
Though there was no face paint or dramatic aura like in Sage Mode, a faint glow of pure white light danced along his skin. He was stronger now—faster, sharper—than ever before.
In the blink of an eye, he closed the distance.
A swirling black void opened behind Jigen, and he dove toward it, trying to escape before Shinno reached him.
Pseudo–Universal Pull!
Shinno raised one hand, activating the Rinnegan technique he'd learned from Uchiha Madara.
With a roar of spiritual energy, a massive gravitational force exploded from his palm.
Jigen tried to use his Kāma's absorption ability to counter the pull, but the energy Shinno wielded wasn't chakra—it was something denser, purer. The Kāma couldn't absorb it at all!
As his body was yanked toward Shinno, the dimensional rift behind him grew farther and farther away.
Eyes flashing black, Jigen desperately used Daikokuten and Sukunahikona again, summoning the massive black cube between himself and the pull to block the technique's effects.
But before it even touched the ground, the cube vanished.
And Shinno was now less than five meters away.
"Slash!"
Shinno muttered under his breath.
A straight-bladed replica of the Kusanagi Sword manifested in his right hand as he swung it toward Jigen's throat.
Clang!
A crisp clash of metal rang out—Jigen had managed to pull a black rod from Daikokuten just in time to parry the slash.
Cold sweat trickled down his forehead.
Too fast.
If he hadn't predicted the strike and moved instantly, he would've been decapitated.
Seeing that Jigen in Kāma Phase Two had grown noticeably faster and more reactive, Shinno's lips curled into a cold smile. Then he activated his strongest offensive technique.
Darkness flooded the space.
Countless swords, buried like tombstones, erupted from the ground beneath their feet.
At the edge of this vast domain, massive steel gears began to turn—grinding, groaning, chiming in mechanical harmony.
Within this domain, Shinno's power and speed surged even higher.
The blade that Jigen had just managed to block now curved into a Z-shaped arc of light—and slashed toward his throat again, the tip now less than three fingers away.
...
Sukunahikona!
Without thinking, Jigen shrank Shinno's sword to its tiniest possible form.
But before he could counter with the black rod—
Agony ripped through his throat. Blood sprayed out, soaking his chest in seconds.
"Your throat, huh? You got lucky."
Shinno still wore that same faint smile. He casually drew another curved ninja blade and slashed again at Jigen's face, who was now frozen in shock.
"Ghh—ghk—!"
Jigen's eyes bulged as blood gurgled from his severed windpipe. He couldn't breathe—couldn't speak.
Now that the power gap was clear, he knew: if he kept fighting Shinno like this, he'd be dead in under a minute.
So he raised both arms to block the next sword strike—and opened a spatial rift behind him once more.
Clang—clang—clang—!
Slash—slash—!
Blade after blade slammed against his forearms, slicing deep. Blood sprayed as both arms were severed at the shoulders.
But he made it.
He barely managed to tumble through the spatial rift—
Only to find himself... back where he started.
Shinno stood exactly where he had before, one hundred meters away.
Jigen's heart nearly stopped.
Why?!
Why is he still here?!
"Give it up," Shinno said, casually tossing aside the curved blade he'd just used. "Unless your spatial control exceeds mine—or you beat me here—you're not getting out."
He drew another replica of the straight-bladed Kusanagi, one reminiscent of Sasuke's sword, and slowly walked toward Jigen.
Within the [Multiversal Traveler] trait's enhancement, the Domain had become a fully independent spatial realm—completely cut off from the outside world.
And this wasn't some low-tier space-hopping ability like Jigen's.
His couldn't even compare.
"Ghhh..."
Jigen, now armless, his throat and vocal cords still destroyed, glared at Shinno with bloodshot eyes.
Unwilling to believe what he was seeing, he opened another spatial rift.
This time, he popped out just fifty meters in front of Shinno.
Still walking.
Still calm.
Still closing the distance.
Jigen pushed his space-hopping powers to their limit, ripping open rift after rift, trying desperately to find an exit.
"Hmm... Not like Flying Thunder God at all," Shinno mused, watching carefully. "Looks like he's tracing some kind of anchor point between space and reality... interesting."
After observing dozens of jumps, he'd basically mapped out how Jigen's technique worked.
"Pathetic."
Jigen let out a furious snarl, more animal than man.
He was furious—at himself—for running.
The black markings of the Kāma surged into his body, triggering rapid regeneration.
In seconds, he transformed fully into the form of Ōtsutsuki Isshiki.
By forcefully fusing himself with the Kāma and the vessel, Jigen had taken on Isshiki's complete appearance.
But this transformation came at a cost. His body wasn't built to contain that power. Within two hours—unless he found a new vessel—he'd die.
Still, with his limbs and throat rapidly regenerating, Isshiki glared at Shinno with venomous hatred.
"You miserable insect... prepare to—"
Slash!
Before he could finish, Shinno became a streak of light and flashed to his side.
The straight-bladed sword in his hand swept cleanly toward Isshiki's neck.
Every ability worth learning has already been learned. Sukunahikona is the only one left.
Slice—!
Isshiki had used Sukunahikona to shrink himself to the size of a dust mote, but—
Blood gushed from his neck!
He returned to full size in an instant, eyes wide in disbelief.
He'd dodged the strike.
So why was his head falling off?!
Buzz—
Shinno's blade hummed in his grip.
In that pitch-black space, its brilliant silver glow was like the moon itself.
He stepped past Isshiki without even looking, flicking the blood off the blade.
Then, without a sound, he set the sword's edge against the scabbard, released the hilt—and let the Kusanagi slide home with a crisp click.
Splurt—splurt—
Isshiki froze.
Tiny, countless slashes suddenly burst open all over his body. Blood sprayed in a fine mist.
His head—split clean in two—tumbled to the floor.
Spat—
Shinno sneered and aimed a glob of phlegm at Isshiki's smug, smug face.
Then hesitated.
"...Ugh. Still need those eyes. Better not gross myself out."
He spat to the side instead.
