Chapter 215 - Rudra familia survivors!?
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Orsted asked, eyeing Bors and his group, who had appeared beside him and Ryuu in silence.
"Hahaha, the Hestia familia's tackling a Monster Rex again! How could I miss that?" Bors laughed, scratching the back of his head.
Orsted was speechless.
They had fought Monster Rexes twice, and Bors was there both times.
The first time, when Lili and the others took on Goliath, Bors brought adventurers from the 18th floor to help but was ineffective.
The second time, also on the 18th floor, he formed a team against the Black Goliath, only to cause trouble for Ais.
Those incidents made sense, as Bors frequented the 17th and 18th floors.
But the 27th floor?
"There've been multiple murders on the 18th floor, and everyone's on edge. We found clues about the culprits, so we formed a faction alliance to hunt them down."
"But before we found them, we heard Amphisbaena's roar and followed it. Didn't expect you guys to be here fighting it," Bors said, his expression turning serious.
"Another murder case?" Orsted asked, narrowing his eyes, recalling something from the anime.
Was this the incident where the hestia familia was forced into an expedition?
"Yeah, the culprits left clues. We know who they are remnants of Evilus," Bors said gravely.
Ryuu's eyes shrank at his words.
"Who are they?" she asked, her voice low.
Bors glanced at her.
"Rudra familia."
"Rudra familia survivors?!" Ryuu's voice rose with agitation.
"Yeah, though the Gale wiped them out five years ago, some stragglers remain. Thinking of what happened back then, I got worried, so I brought my crew here."
Bors turned to Orsted with a grave look.
"Orsted, since you're here, can I commission you?"
"To find and eliminate them?" Orsted guessed.
"Exactly," Bors confirmed.
"Alright. If I see them, they're done," Orsted said, turning his attention back to the battlefield, dismissing Bors.
Ryuu, however, pressed Bors for details on the Rudra familia remnants, clearly intent on hunting them down.
It was no surprise: five years ago, the Rudra familia's reckless destruction of the lower floors had triggered the dungeon to spawn the Juggernaut, nearly annihilating the Astraea familia.
Even after Orsted's intervention saved them, Ryuu had risked her life to erase the Rudra familia from Orario.
Hearing of survivors, she couldn't stay calm.
In the anime, Ryuu had killed Rudra familia members upon learning of their survival, prompting Bors and others to form the faction alliance to track her down in the water city and investigate her renewed killings.
This time, without Ryuu's involvement, Bors's group was still here.
Suddenly, Orsted's heart jolted.
A flood of unfamiliar information surged into his mind, quickening his pulse.
"Ryuu!" he called, turning to her as she questioned Bors.
She looked back, her eyes questioning but silent.
"Leave this to me. Don't interfere!" Orsted's tone was grave.
Ryuu froze, staring at him.
It was the first time she'd heard him speak so seriously.
She wasn't foolish. She sensed something significant was afoot.
"Got it," she replied softly, moving to his side.
Bors, overhearing Orsted call Ryuu's name, was stunned but stayed quiet.
The Gale? The elf before him? No wonder she was so worked up about the Rudra Familia.
He wasn't dense.
Her reaction to their mention, combined with Orsted's call, confirmed her identity.
But he didn't know why the Hestia familia was with her or what was happening, so he played ignorant.
Orsted, unaware of Bors's keen deductions, felt his heart race, the sound audible outside his body.
Ryuu, now beside him, heard it clearly.
"Orsted?" she asked, worried.
This wasn't normal. She was concerned.
"Ryuu, hold off on the Rudra Familia for now," Orsted said softly.
"I have a feeling that to save the Astraea Familia, we can't touch them yet."
Ryuu's eyes widened, a surge of joy spreading across her face.
