After the sparring matches ended, Evangeline headed straight to her room.
She fought the strong urge to sprint all the way back, not wanting to raise anyone's suspicions. Right now, nothing else mattered more than confirming her suspicion about Alex's real identity.
Just as she had entered the dormitory, her handmaiden came to talk to her. However, before Eleanora could even say anything, Evangeline cut her off right away.
"Let's talk later," Evangeline said as she climbed up the stairs. "There's something important I need to do, and I mustn't be disturbed no matter what."
Eleanora froze in shock, for this was the first time her Mistress had spoken to her so sternly, leaving no room for objections.
For a brief moment, she saw Evangeline's father in her expression, which made her feel intimidated.
In the end, she could only watch helplessly as Evangeline headed to the second floor.
