The two then heard hurried footsteps from the stairs, and Eleanora came into their view.
"Eva, an old man suddenly appeared out of nowhere!" Eleanora exclaimed anxiously. "Did he do anything to you?!"
"It's okay, Eleanora," Evangeline replied. "He is Sir Lex, an old acquaintance of mine."
Eleanora still felt doubtful. But since her mistress looked perfectly fine, she soon calmed down.
She then glared at Alex before walking down the stairs to continue guarding the door of the library.
The two teenagers stared at each other for nearly a minute before smiling faintly.
"Why didn't you tell me that you've already found Sir Lex?" Evangeline pouted. "You could have told me."
The young man pulled the pouting girl into his arms and hugged her.
"It just slipped my mind," Alex replied. "Many things have been happening as of late, so I didn't get the chance to tell you."
"Are you still hiding things from me?" Eva asked.
