Ian went ahead and met with Mia, and said the result of his investigation today, although Mia had prepared in her heart, but really faced with her closest people betraying themselves, it was still difficult to accept for a while.
Ian comforted, "Don't worry first, it's just a suspicion now, there's no actual evidence, I came to find you, is that I have a plan that can verify the current speculation, but this plan needs your support."
Mia adjusted herself, "Tell me your plan, I will support you."
.....
Ian left after discussing the plan with Mia and went forward to look for Rayne, maybe Rayne had some gains there.
Ian quietly stood in a hidden corner, his sight locked onto the warehouse entrance in the distance.
Rayne was currently hidden in another shadow, the two of them cooperated with each other, closely observing Linda's movements.
Linda was still busy in the warehouse, occasionally directing the others to carry the supplies, her expression was as serious as ever, and there was no difference at all. However, Ian knew that the real test was yet to come.
Suddenly, a young man walked up to Linda and whispered a few words. Linda's face changed slightly, then she regained her composure and gently nodded her head, signaling the young man to leave.
Rayne's gaze stared, and Ian also narrowed his eyes slightly. Linda's reaction was clearly not normal.
After the young man left, Linda quietly looked around to make sure no one was paying attention, and then quickly walked into the small room at the back of the warehouse.
Ian gave Rayne a stealthy gesture, and the two of them silently approached the small room, listening with bated breath to the movements inside.
A subtle communication sound came out from the room, Linda lowered her voice, her tone was tinged with anxiety, "The ... route must be re-planned, this time we can't be caught by the Storm Council again, otherwise we will completely cut off our food."
"Understood, I will check again, don't worry." A low and familiar male voice came from the other side.
Ian and Rayne looked at each other, Linda seemed to be worried about the transportation route leakage as well.
Linda quickly hung up the communication and left the small room, returning to the warehouse to continue her work, her demeanor restored as before.
Rayne whispered, "It looks like Linda may be innocent, should we continue to keep an eye on it?"
Ian shook his head, "Don't jump to conclusions, this doesn't make her innocent, it's possible that she's just acting with the person on the other side of the phone."
"Who could that be?" Rayne frowned, obviously wondering the same thing in his mind.
"Let's go find Jack first, the intelligence department might have more useful information." Ian made a decisive decision.
The two quickly left the warehouse area and headed towards the area where the intelligence department was located.
The intelligence department was located in the deepest part of the stronghold, but Jack was not in the room at the moment. Ian and Rayne were wandering around the room when they inadvertently discovered a note that had been deliberately hidden under Jack's desk.
The note simply read, "See you tonight, outside the canyon, at the usual place."
"Outside the canyon?" Rayne queried, "Why would Jack secretly go outside the canyon to meet with someone?"
Ian's gaze became more grave, "Jack is in charge of intelligence work, if he has contact with the Storm Council, the consequences are unimaginable."
"No matter what, we must go and take a look." Rayne said firmly.
The night breeze was slightly cool, on a hidden clearing outside the canyon, Jack waited alone, his figure looking lonely and mysterious. A few moments later, a member of the Storm Council stepped out of the darkness, and the two exchanged whispers.
Ian and Rayne hid in the distance, Ian turned on the sensory enhancement still could only vaguely hear just a few words, "... This action, must be cautious ... They have already begun to suspect... ..."
"Don't worry, I will handle it properly and won't arouse any suspicion."
The Storm Council member nodded and handed a small bag to Jack before quickly disappearing into the darkness.
Jack paused in place for a moment with the bag, an elusive smile on his face before quickly returning to the canyon stronghold.
"Jack actually does have a connection with the Storm Council!" Rayne whispered, his face becoming unusually ugly.
A complex look flashed in Ian's eyes, "Don't jump to conclusions, I have a bad feeling that it's not as simple as it seems."
"You mean ...?" Rayne looked shocked.
"We don't have conclusive evidence yet, everything is speculation." Ian took a deep breath.
"What do we do next?" Rayne asked.
"You continue to keep an eye on Linda, I'll keep an eye on Jack, and remember, don't reveal our whereabouts. Everyone is suspect now, including Roy." Ian said calmly.
Rayne nodded his head and looked grave, "Understood, I will continue to monitor the transportation of supplies, once there is any abnormality, I will notify you first."
