'Lian'er!' His eyes bulged.
'I forgot about her! It's been more than two months since I last saw or talked to her, and considering what happened under the moon two months ago…'
At that moment, Mikael really wanted to facepalm. 'It's my worry that made me forget!' he quickly threw his worry under the bus as the 'culprit.'
And in truth, he wasn't really lying, as this was a big reason why, in the last days with the girls, he hadn't thought to go see Lian'er. But the main reason wasn't that— it was simply that the last days had been so peaceful, almost soul-soothing, that he didn't want to use his brain and instead focused on relaxing.
Which was why he hadn't thought of Lian'er, but now that he had—
Swish.
Mikael did a 180 toward the teleportation formation leading directly to Swordheart Peak. Within moments of a high-speed flight, he reached it, and without further ado, stepped into the formation, activating it with his Qi.
Vmooom!
The sound of the formation activating resounded in his ears, and in the next instant, he felt something wrap around him as his surroundings shifted, becoming nothing more than a blur. When they once again became 'visible,' he saw that he was in a similar location—similar enough that one might wonder if the teleportation had failed—but Mikael knew it wasn't the case; he had reached his destination, Swordheart Peak.
Chirp.
The chirping of the birds and the sound of nature greeted him, creating a beautiful, natural and immersive ambiance.
But Mikael wasn't in the mood to listen to the beauty of nature, his thoughts were focused on Lian'er, but not only on her, there was a pair of sisters that also passed in his mind.
'Lian'er, Bai Yulan and Bai Lifen, I forgot about all three…' his expression soured, 'Well played Mikael, fucking well played, I forgot about all three…'
He let out a sigh before "justifying himself," 'At the same time it isn't really my fault, when I train I need 100% of my concentration, I don't have the time to think about something else while training, my training isn't that leisurely…'
He thought to himself but he knew that his 'excuse' wasn't one that really worked, 'For Lian'er it's "okay", we talked two months ago and as cultivators two months is nothing right?'
His lips twitched, 'But for Yulan and Lifen…yeah it isn't the same things, we flirted for a while and then bam nothing for four months, even for cultivators who are used to long periods of time separation this isn't incredible…Really not incredible!'
He passed a hand in his messy black hair, 'Yeah it was kinda scummy of me, I should definitely visit them soon enough, after this visit to my Senior Sister, I'll head directly to the Stillwater Palace!'
With his 'resolution' taken Mikael felt a little better and without dragging any further he quickly took flight and headed to the part of the Swordheart Peak where Lian'er was generally at.
Swish.
The wind howled in his ears as the mountain peak below him blurred as he crossed insane distance in moments, with his speed it didn't take long before he found her, but as he caught sight of his Senior Sister his eyes widened—
"Fuck!"
A small curse escaped his mouth as he took in his Senior Sister, and more precisely, who was beside her…
It was a pair of extraordinarily beautiful girls who looked remarkably similar. Both had twintails, silky black hair, and striking black eyes; one in particular possessed wide, innocent eyes, while the other's gaze was sharper.
Altogether, they looked like a pair of extremely beautiful sisters—a pair of sisters that Mikael knew…
At that moment, the innocent-looking beauty spoke, "Lian'er, do you think that if I tie my hair tighter to my head, I'll run faster?"
Lian'er blinked once in confusion before a mischievous smirk spread across her face. "Obviously, Yulan! That's why birds have feathers close to their head—less… wind resistance that way!"
What was revealed to be Yulan exclaimed, "Ohhh! That makes so much sense…wait, do we have feathers?"
"Not yet, but if we find a Phoenix and borrow some—"
Gasp.
"Borrow? You mean steal?" asked Yulan with a shocked expression.
Lian'er gained a mock offended expression as she shook her index fingers before her, "No, no no, it's called borrowing for forever, it's a totally different thing!"
"Ohhhhh! I didn't think of that, Sister Lian'er is so smart, but—" Yulan brought a finger to her lips as she tilted her head in confusion, "But what if its feathers burn us?"
"Then we'll just run really fast with the fire going woosh behind us."
Yulan's eyes sparkled, "We'll look so cool!"
Lian'er slightly shook her head, "Cool? Not so much as we will be hot!" she finished with a playful wink.
Yulan nodded approvingly, "Right! Hehehe… you're so smart, Lian'er!"
And this 'conversation' continued with Yulan and Lian'er seemingly the best of friends, while Lifen looked at them with what could only be inferred as an expression of despair.
Meanwhile, Mikael's lips twitched to a degree never seen before, 'What the fuck is this conversation!!?? I feel like I am losing brain cells just by listening to them talking!?'
He vigorously shook his head, 'Nevermind that, it doesn't matter, what does…' his gaze locked on the three girls below, who still hadn't noticed him, '...is that… they all are here?'
His expression changed as he sighed, 'Let's see the good sides of things, at least I don't need to go to the Stillwater Palace to see them afterward, it's one stone two birds...'
'Ohhh, and I was right, Yulan and Lian'er became the best of friends the moment they met…' he thought, but he didn't feel even the slightest sliver of satisfaction, because he knew that he was kinda fucked.
After all, not seeing nor talking to Yulan and Lifen for four entire months, then doing as he had planned and visiting them afterward, would have been somewhat acceptable, as cultivators have a different perception of time than mortals, but stumbling upon them while going to see his Senior Sister after four months of 'silence'... yeah.
'I am kinda fucked but—' a light appeared in his eyes, 'I have a plan!'
He thought this before slowly dropping from his high position in the sky, and as he descended his shadow covered the girls, causing Lifen to look up and—
Gasp.
She gasped in shock at seeing him, but Mikael didn't give her the time to gather her spirit or, worse, speak; he opened his mouth first.
"Hello girls~" he spoke in an affectionate and gentle tone.
"Huh?"
"Hein?"
Both Lian'er and Yulan confusedly exclaimed before looking upward and freezing as they saw him floating above them.
"Mikael!?" escaped Lifen's mouth, she being the first to snap out of her stupor.
He gave her a gentle and affectionate smile. "Hello, my lovely Lifen~"
"Tha-that… this—" Lifen's beautiful visage reddened as she looked downward, her two index tips repeatedly colliding as she murmured things like, "This, that, idiot, dummy…"
Afterward, he looked at the innocent beauty that was Yulan. "Welcome to our Sect, Yulan, you are really gorgeous today" he declared in the same tone.
"Ahh! Ohh—" Yulan's eyes rapidly darted left and right as her visage reddened, and she used her hands to fan her face.
"Hehe, don't you think it's really hot today? I'm all red because of it… hehe," she awkwardly giggled while 'covering' her flushed visage.
Finally, Mikael's gaze landed on the brown-haired mischievous and partially airheaded beauty that was Hua Lianyu, a beauty who was looking at him with something intense in her gorgeous eyes—something that reminded him of Kiara?
Mikael shook his head, not dwelling on the impression as he had… more important things to focus on.
Thud.
Mikael softly landed on the ground before taking slow, confident steps that brought him just before—and, in truth, above—his Senior Sister, who was sitting on the grass with the other girls.
He lightly leaned forward, his toned form towering above her smaller one, and one of his hands slowly extended toward her.
Ba-dum.
Hua Lianyu's heart skipped a beat, all of her attention fixed on Mikael's hand as it slowly approached her. 'He's gonna hug me, or even… kiss me?'
As this thought crossed her mind, a heat bloomed within her body, her heart pounding at a frenzied rhythm while her gaze remained locked on his fingers, which seemed to move in slow motion, steadily closing the distance until—
Swish.
"There, you had a stray strand," declared Mikael with a gentle smile, just after tucking back a lock of her long, silky brown hair that had been slightly out of place.
"Yelp!" A small, startled sound escaped Lian'er's pink lips, her wide eyes reflecting… disappointment?
'It was just that? I thought it was more…' she thought dejectedly.
Her gaze dropped toward the ground in dejection, and she missed Mikael's next move—his hand subtly extending once more to tuck away a few messy strands of her silky hair. Before she could react, he—
He withdrew his hand, but on its 'return path' it 'inadvertently' brushed against and caressed her fair neck.
Shiver.
"Ammmh~" The instant his fingers touched her neck, it was as though a jolt of electricity surged through her body, a faint moan slipping past her lips as her cheeks flushed pink.
Ripple.
With a swift motion, Lianyu lowered her head onto her thighs, crossing her legs before her to hide both her reddened face and the heat burning deep in her core…
Mikael let out a sneaky, relieved sigh, 'Disaster successfully evaded!' he thought as he saw that all three fairy were too embarrassed and occupied by their thoughts to ask 'problematic questions'.
It took a moment before all the girls came out of their thoughts, but once they did a discussion erupted, changing what was previously a conversation between Lian'er and Yulan, with Lifen looking at her twin in apparent despair, into a conversation between the four of them.
And to Mikael's great joy, everything was going perfectly well!
There were no problematic questions asked as they casually talked of everything and nothing, with Yulan's airheadness being on full display — something Mikael found endearing, but…
At that moment, Yulan's endearing airheadness decided to do critical damage to the unsuspecting Mikael.
Yulan tilted her head in a cute way as she brought a finger to her kissable lips, "I had something to say but I don't remember what…"
Tap, tap.
Her finger tapped her pink lips a couple of times as she gained a thoughtful expression while her gaze followed a bird flying back in the sky, "Bird…nest…nest is like home, home is visit!"
Her eyes widened, "I remember!" she loudly exclaimed, capturing everyone's attention.
Yulan tilted her head toward Mikael, which instantly gave him a bad feeling, a bad feeling that was confirmed in the next moments.
She plucked her lips outward in a pout that was a mix of sexy and cute as she looked at Mikael, "Moouu! You said you were gonna visit our home but you didn't…" her pout deepened, "Not nice!"
'It came down to that in the end,' inwardly sighed Mikael, doubly so when he felt, moments later, two other pairs of eyes fixing themselves on him.

A few words from me below.
———
Kinda unrelated to the chapter, but I wanted to say that I have an end planned for Volume 4 but for that a lot of things still need to happen before the Volume arrive at it's closure so in the following chapters I will try to speed things up(I will try but probably will fail but still it should speed things up…)
The goal is for Volume 4 to end by Chapter 300, but… yeah, I'm not exactly confident I'll succeed. So, see you in twenty chapters to witness how I fail.
