Kelsey's POV
{Kelsey's Residence - 10:22 A.M.}
I didn't even remember turning the key in the ignition or adjusting the rearview mirror or driving past the heavy gates of Cecelia's estate, down those gold-paved streets, or merging onto the road that would take me back home.
My mind was blank. Or maybe, it was too full to think of other important things.
I wasn't sure anymore.
All I knew was that when I blinked again, I was parked right in front of my house.
The engine was off with my hands clenched on the wheel.
That wine bottle was still sitting in the passenger seat like it had a story of its own.
I sat there for a while, eyes fixed on nothing. The image of Kian Vane Blackthorne still burned into my brain like it had been branded there.
He was really dangerous and terrifying in a way that didn't need yelling or threats. The calm kind of danger that smiled in your face while snapping your spine in two.
And he was Landon's brother...?
