Chapter 64: News of Recovery
Fang Bie thought for a moment, then turned back again, "How about this, your body isn't actually in a rush, right? Why don't you wait for us backstage? We'll be right in front of the curtain. You can rest here for a bit, and I'll come with you later."
This was also the best method he could temporarily think of. Without waiting for Yun Yun to speak, he quickly lifted the heavy curtain and walked out.
He could only give the other party two choices. After all, everyone is just an Ordinary Person. Nothing should go wrong, right?
Fang Bie didn't even see that as he turned and lifted the curtain, a ball of white flame had already appeared in Xiao Yan's hand. The look of surprise in his eyes was self-evident.
"After a brief intermission, please welcome the chairman of Stark Industries, the genius designer Mr. Tony Stark!" The booming voice of the announcer filled the air, followed by enthusiastic cheers from the fans below the stage.
Tony once again snatched the microphone, and before the host could even say another word, he snapped his fingers, directing the stage lights towards the person who had just emerged from behind the curtain.
"Everyone knows I'm not the main act, and you're probably tired of the Q&A, right?" Tony, like a host, held up the microphone, his voice booming.
"Please welcome the real presenter for today, the father of the smartphone, the designer of the M1 mobile phone, Fang Bie!"
He smoothly passed the microphone over, gave Fang Bie a look that said, "It's all you," and then walked off stage with the host.
Fang Bie gave him a slightly helpless look, cleared his throat, and began to speak formally.
"I honestly have no idea what's happening today, or why Tony called me over. Maybe my presence here will increase smartphone profits by 50%?" Fang Bie quipped with a simple American joke.
After a ripple of light laughter from the audience, he continued.
"Of course, I know today is the official press conference for the M1 smartphone. Unlike the prototype we released a few months ago, this smartphone now boasts a complete software industry chain and a powerful AI System!"
"I call it, the Smartphone!"
"Friends, you are ushering in a new era! An era unlike the static Internet, an era that fills our World with infinite possibilities, an era that truly connects everyone - a mobile AI-powered interconnected era!"
Fang Bie held up the sleek white smartphone, "For example, right now, each of you should have a smartphone in your hand. I don't care if you got it from Stark Industries or borrowed it from someone else, but the point is, every single one of you is now a terminal for receiving information, and also a starting point for sending information!"
Fang Bie spoke with great sincerity, and the audience listened with rapt attention.
"You will become publishers and disseminators of information, and also the ultimate recipients. You are no longer passive consumers of information, but have become the key to producing it!"
Fang Bie's eyes brightened, and his voice softened.
"With this smartphone, you essentially also own a computer, a tablet, a feature phone, a portable MP3 player, an MP4 player, a GPS Positioning Navigator, a portable bank card, a driver's license..."
His words sparked murmurs throughout the audience. They found it hard to imagine how such a thin device could encompass so many functions.
Fang Bie ignored their murmurs. In the face of the relentless tide of the Era, these people could only be left behind in tears.
"All these functions are achieved through simple Apps on the smartphone, those cute little icons you see. Smartphones are no longer synonymous with bulky and heavy devices. They will gradually become a part of your Life, essential resources for survival!"
"It's simple, efficient, aesthetically pleasing, and represents the Future! What reason is there *not* to own one?" Fang Bie's voice, filled with powerful conviction, amplified the already excited buzz of the audience into a frenzy.
"Thank you, designer Fang Bie, for that introduction. I solemnly promise that all the functions Designer Fang Bie mentioned are indeed achievable on this smartphone. This is a Stark Industries product, the world-renowned Smartphone, the M1 Smartphone!"
The host slowly walked to the front of the Stage, and with those words, he declared the press conference concluded.
Fang Bie hurried off stage and saw Tony surrounded by people, standing next to Yun Yun.
"Tony! What you did was really unfair!" Fang Bie wiped beads of sweat from his forehead. Asking him to improvise like that was really too much. He'd exhausted all the resources in his brain to barely cobble together a response.
"Bro, you did great! Seriously, I even want to buy one!" Tony said with a straight face.
"Alright, I know what you're like!" Fang Bie said, exasperated. "Spit it out, what's the matter? Why are you buttering me up like this?"
"Actually, this matter *is* related to you!" Tony immediately changed his tune, neither confirming nor denying his previous words. He pointed to Yun Yun, who was sitting quietly in the back.
"What is it?" Fang Bie asked, looking at her.
Although Yun Yun still seemed a bit weak, the Battle Qi swirling around her body couldn't escape Fang Bie's notice. She said,
"Those lecherous fools deserve to be beaten!" she said. "They actually... they actually..."
As she said this, her face flushed crimson, unsure how to put it into words.
Fang Bie had no choice but to turn his attention back to Tony.
"Your friend seems to have some rather conservative views. There was a... couple among the security guard detail," Tony shrugged. "She attacked them. Luckily, she showed some restraint and only gave them bone fractures."
"What about those two?" Fang Bie asked, turning around.
"Don't worry about it, I've already talked to them. I'll cover their medical expenses, and I've given them compensation." Tony said casually. "But your friend is really something else. One slap sent two six-foot-two giants flying twenty-some feet."
Fang Bie turned back again. "You've recovered?"
"No, it's not that Battle Qi is no longer suppressed, it's just that I can use it easily now." Yun Yun shook her head, glancing down at the faint purple radiance emanating from her chest. "The Seal hasn't been broken, so full recovery is impossible."
"That's a really peculiar power," Tony remarked. "You should probably rein in your friend a bit. Her power level is a bit... excessive for this World."
Fang Bie nodded. "She's new here and hasn't been to your World before. Because customs are different between Worlds, her understanding will be a bit off. She'll adjust with Time."
"That's up to you. There's not much else I can say." Tony, being a reliable friend, quickly smoothed things over for them and even arranged for them to stay in this House.
